Random, but wanted to share. We got our first Meyer lemon tree a few weeks ago! Potted it with citrus tone and being very careful not to over water. No lost leaves yet! Wish me luck

Thanks for another good video ,Laura. My 5 year old son (who is interested in plants and planting )and I love to watch your videos. He planted store bought garlic pods that had some greenery in them in ground and we had some good garlic. I told him that you have a baby in your tummy...and he was excited but worried why you were bending so much and working so hard in the video. It was adorable to see how much he was concerned about you. You have a super 5 year old fan...He loves it when Benjamin joins you in the videos. Your energy is amazing. Your smile cheers our day.

Thanks for the inspiration to plant fall crops. Never tried it before, but definitely going to this year! Unrelated question - have you done any videos on planting flowers for fragrance. I noticed this year that while my flowers are beautiful, I don't have many that have a strong, lovely fragrance. I would like to take that into consideration for next year, but don't know where to start. Thank you for all you both do and please keep inspiring us!!🌞🌞💖💖

I was at the local garden shop today - just browsing - and I've started reading tags- like you suggested .. it was great to recognize the names of plants that I've seen you plant in the past - today I saw Guara - I've never noticed it before - and I had to take a sniff! Lol! A very pretty plant! Thanks for starting my days so well - You are very much appreciated!

Do you ever freeze or can some of your crops? I want to thank you for giving me the courage and knowledge to have both a veggie garden and beautiful flower gardens. This year I harvested 167 heads of garlic, 37lbs of onion, 45 servings of carrots and 56 servings of beans. (I freeze portions big enough for 1 meal) . Super excited to enjoy the harvest this winter.

Hi Laura, I've being watching your videos for a few months now and now just want to get into my garden and start planting all the wonderful flowers that you plant and mention. I also recently start collecting succulents and have made a few small arrangements for my sisters, which they think is so adorable. I am from South Africa, so our climate is very different from yours, but I do talk to the nursery owners when going to look for flowers, just to make sure that I get the correct plants for the right season. I am now also just want to plant in pots, because I just love the ones that you've done in your videos and your garden. Thank you so much for all the wonderful and beautiful ideas you give us.

Gorgeous garden per usual. ♥️ I don't know how you work in this heat with your hair down. I would be a puddle of sweat, and if my neck gets sweaty, I _have_ to pull it up. 😂 I want to garden here, upstate SC, but, Japanese beetles have become so bad in the past decade, and getting worse. They can eat up a garden, seemingly, overnight. I had 4 Knockout Roses covered in flowers. I came out the next day and in their place were beetles. Others in the area are having the same issues. The only thing that works are chopsticks and a bucket of soapy water, plucking each one off and drowning it. Add to that, I have a "black thumb", and I just don't even try anymore. I live viciously through you. ♥️

I bought a house 3 months ago in Ontario, Canada and it what I thought was an old vegetable garden but filled with weeds and composite decking boards--come to find out I had strawberries but the rabbit ate them all (not completed enclosed), dug up some tiny red onions and some white shallots, then using google lens to identify the plants I had potatoes growing!!. I dug up like 9 little potatoes. I am going to dig out all the weeds and turn the earth over and get it ready to plant something. Thanks to you I thought this season was over but I may be able to grow a little something this fall if I get on it soon enough

When I’m done watering for the year I unhook the hose and use an air compressor to blow out my drip system just to be safe. Looks beautiful. Wish we had access to water. We live in NW Arkansas and have to haul water like we like in the 1800's. The city water line stops 2 miles down the road and the city won't run the water line up the Mountain the 2 miles. We tried to sink a well, but it came up dry. It was even switched and they drilled where he said water was. I envy anyone with access to water.

Would you ever consider filming a how to build a compost making area? With the amount of yard waste you end up with I bet you could make a fair bit of compost each year. I was looking at all those squash leaves and thinking back to previous videos of you trimming up trees etc. and thinking you could totally compost all of that and add it into to your new lands soil.

I’m just so jealous of your growing season...I’m lucky to have a 90 day total growing season, and I have super alkaline soil as well!! I have some very drastic day and night temperatures too. It’s not the easiest to grow stuff in, but I still try😉

Laura Hart Good for you for trying! Maybe try making a bed with a cover over it? That would extend your season a bit in both directions.

She said in a Q & A they were offered a TV show, but turned it down. She likes having full control over her content, and that she can work-from-home and fit the filming schedule around their son.

You are awesome! 🤗 and I feel your pain with gardening in the heat! It’s ranging between 85-95*F most days here in Bermuda and the humidity is in the mid 80s... we haven’t had any rain in a couple of weeks so it’s scorching! I really hope all of my new flowerbeds make it through the summer. I might have to figure out a drip system for next summer if they do survive! I am so so close to doing it now. 🤔 You guys almost have me convinced I can do it... haha

You mentioned your Zinnias in this video. When will you be showing us an update on the annual flower seeds you planted? I ordered several of the varieties you showed on your early seed organization video and am interested in seeing how yours are doing. Thanks for all your hard work on awesome content!

In Socal veggie gardens, many farmers are sterilizing soil w/ methylbromide rite after Labor Day, in order to plant strawberries. Veggies you mentioned, Socal can start having frost ( dry/wet) around Thanksgiving, so some farmers will roll out plastic sheathing to cover at nite , use crop heaters or use smudge pots. Remember to turn down irrigation, UV index fall drastically after 9/21 ea yr.

You've probably answered this in previous videos but what sunscreen and SPF do you use for your face? It's so important to have sun protection and your skin looks so good even though you've been so much time outside.

Can you do more harvest videos? I love those. I recently came across an article about improved hybrid varieties of Geums, a flower I had never heard of before that I can remember. I found the pictures of them incredibly beautiful and I immediately wondered if you've ever grown them in your gardens. The ones with dark burgundy stems and contrasting flowers(yellow, orange, peach, light pink) I found so striking and fascinating! I think they would be beautiful in cut flower arrangements as well as in the garden!

@@Bamboo4U2 I garden north of Madrid Spain and I have no humidity either thank goodness, but from 2 - 5 pm you can't be outside and the poor dogs are flat out on the stone floors. So looking forward to August, always a kinder month.

@@GrannysGarden yep. I have relatives in Arizona. Often, no one is outside in the late afternoon when it passes 110F. It's literally dangerous to be outside at those temps. You won't sweat. You'll just drop. No warning signs.
