The last few years we've been down on our luck as far as attracting UP bucks. So I've dedicated a few weeks a year trying to improve our odds. Every trip we've made improvements that should attract deer. We've cleared areas to allow saplings to grow, hinge cut trees, and planted food plots.
As the years have went on we've learned we really have to improve the soil with lime and nitrogen fixing plants. We have just under two acres of bare land oono the north side of our camp where we can plant food plots. As well as some areas we cleared out in the woods along with the old logging roads that aren't being used anymore.
We started our trip in june where Hendrix and I went to camp and spread some lime as well as sprayed a lot of the areas we planned. on planting in july. On the way we ran into a cow moose and her calf.
I took the rzr up to camp with my black boar implements and used them to break up the topsoil so that the seed would be directly placed within the soil and it wouldn't be too compact for the plants to grow in to.
The results of our deer camp food plot will be in the next video which will be our bear camp video.
