When your coffee pot beeps at the same time as your GA notification goes off….that, my friends, is perfect timing. Makes me feel like it’s going to be a great day 😊
A very good morning Laura......I am a teenager from India and I just love to watch your videos. Here in India where we live the house are build side by side due to which we don't have ground gardens so I do gardening on Terrace in pots and I have over 150 plant in pots including foliage, flowering and vegetable plants.....I wish that one day i will also be able to do gardening just like you...hope for the best.....love from India 💞💞💞 Sorry for writing this again but I don't know if you read it or not so I had written it again
🌻💛Good morning Laura and all viewers from Michigan. My day off, coffee in hand, Laura planting beautiful things …. Priceless. Stay safe and well everyone! Thank you Laura 🤗🍂🍁🧡
Hello from Northern Ireland, I absolutely love all your videos and everything u do, I'm 32 and because of u I have grown my own veggies for the past 2 years, still have a lot to learn, thank you for everything.
In gardening I’m learning that every year is another classroom experience. I suppose that can be said for every aspect of life. I see it most vividly in the garden tho.
Yes me too ! I’m 35 and I’m well in to gardening now. Grew all my veg and grew flowers from seeds ! Purchased many plants shrubs and flowers too, Many mistakes made! One thing I’ve learnt is to stop being so heavy handed with the hose ! I’ve killed many with too much water in pots 😩😂
I absolutely love mornings waking up to notifications from Garden Answer or any of my other inspiration RU-vid channels. The impact Laura has on people is so unbelievable. From personal experience she has helped me in so many ways with my depression by keeping me inspired to keep doing what I love in the the garden.
Seconding this, gardening (thanks to GA's inspiring videos) has made a huge difference in my depression & has added so much joy and satisfaction to my life!
@@katherineneagle7521 planting a garden is like signing a pact with the future for something beautiful. It brings hope into your life & living without hope can be debilitating. I know. This channel brings hope back into my life. ♥️
Good morning Laura, from Illinois, I've been a fan since I started watching you in 2015 with only 10,000 followers. I've learned so much from you over the years. Thank you for all you do for all of us all over the world.
Laura, I agree with you the simplicity of the west side garden is beautiful, perhaps you could turn that area into your formal rose garden, walking through that with the beautiful aromas, and the contrast against the arbs and boxwoods would be absolutely divine. Whatever you do though I'm sure it will be perfect as everything else. Thanking you and Aaron for all the joy you bring us gardeners x
I would like the mulched area by the arborvitaes with grass and the bumpouts to be full of colourful roses and peonies! It'll look spectacular and clean.
I was wondering if the simplicity could be maintained with mass plantings of low growing, blueish foliaged perennials. Is there a low growing (under two feet) rose that would lend itself to a mass planting?
An all rose garden is lovely in bloom, but very messy when the petals drop. As you plant so heavily in most areas, I like the clean open structures area of the west garden as it is now
Fall is the best time for planting, there’s always deals to be had at your local garden center when things are past their prime and they’re looking to get rid of stock. The bonus is that come spring you get a wonderful show of something you’ve probably forgotten that you planted!
So true! Just yesterday I stopped at a local Ace Hardware store and saw a sign saying all nursery plants were 50% off. There were a lot that for sure had seen better days but I found a few shrubs that looked amazing and fit the bill for a space that’s lacking. It was t what took me to the store but was a wonderful find.
I got several things planted today. ('Sun King' Aralia, Little Bluestem 'Standing Ovation', 'Pixie' grass, ajuga 'Black Oyster', 'White Swan' echinacea, carex 'Everglow' and tomorrow I'll do some weeding before tackling the 3 'Bloomstruck' Endless Summer hydrangeas and a couple blueberries. Unfortunately, the garden center didn't reduce the price to 50% off until after I bought them. Last night, I put 6 daylilies I'd potted up several weeks ago onto the curb with FREE signs. I was going to post something on Nextdoor, but they're all gone. Good! I took lots of photos so I can look at the gardens all winter long.
@@cherylpresleigh6403 Thanks. I love retirement! Now I have time to get after those weeds that accumulated when I was working. Creeping Bellflower, ugh!
I was stressed this morning due to an upcoming meeting and thought, "What could relax me? Ah ha - Garden Answer !!!" YES, it certainly did help. Thank you two for all you do and for all you do not even know that you do for us who enjoy watching ♥
I wanted to take a minute and tell you how much I love the simplicity of your videos! No intro, no big long outro, just you planting plants and talking about them (although I love the recap videos because they're separate). I love seeing your gardens and how they transform over the years. Thank you!
I bought the 7 inch with the heavy duty tip. It’s a must for compact or rocky soil. I will say, even though I’m just a home gardener, I’ll be picking up multiple sizes for next year. I’m loving it!
I was hanging out waiting for the video this morning. I’m not usually right on it like that. Things are shaping up quite nicely! I DO like where you put the statue! 💚💚💚
The little Henry itea and the brandy wine viburnum have gorgeous fall color 😍. They look great in the new property. Can’t wait to see everything put on growth and fill up the space.
I agree that the west side in so zen..ahhh peaceful & lovely. And everytime you add to the south gardens it so exciting to see it filling In. Love your girl watching over the garden. So pretty.
I live that you keep on trying things in different areas and it makes me feel it’s ok to mess up. I used to stress and not plant because I didn’t know how to take card of stuff except annuals. Your channel lifts my spirits every day! Oh, and I just love knowing that you can stain a statue!🧐🥰😃So fun!
Good morning, Laura ☕️ from Aruba. I AM having a really great day however, it all starts with you! Can’t head to the beach 🏖 until after 7:00; I need my GA fix first! The property is looking amazing! Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
Every little bit you do in the south garden changes the look so much. Love that grass….such interesting seed heads. The wood chips make a huge difference. I agree the statue is perfect in that spot. How exciting to see the first piece placed in that area. Looking more like a park every day. Grass is really filling in. Kudos to Aaron.
Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺… brush my teeth, cozy up into bed and voila… right on time. My bedtime ritual! I then fall asleep imaging I am walking through my garden wondering where I could fit a sumac tree into my landscape. A good Aussie gardening saying here is “if you can put your foot there, you can put a plant there!” Lovely to see another round of planting! So exciting every time! Bravo 👏 🙌🏼
Hey Laura, I was just sitting here watching and thinking, hmmm. . I wonder when she is going to be putting in some statues and things? And as soon as I thought it, there you go and grab the little girl. Looks amazing. Just love watching the south garden come to life. Love your channel. ❤️❤️❤️ Shelli
Laura I used to always use wood stain on some of my pot and my concrete pieces just to have to repeat it in a couple of years. The Sun is pretty brutal here in central Oklahoma. Then I discovered deck stain. I used Sherwin-Williams. The color is called Charwood. It has lasted for years. I have used it on my wooden pergola, some small concrete pieces, and some fiberglass pots. Works amazing
Today’s video is extra fun for me because Sweetspire and Viburnum are both natives to my yard! We have two groves of beautiful Sweetspire trees and can confirm that in the Summer it looks like fireworks gently waving in the breeze. At night, the white blooms have such a lovely glow! Can confirm they love wet soil as one of the groves is near our quarter-acre pond. We have several types of viburnum too and I hope to add Brandywines next year because I love the multicolor berries! I bet the birds will too. It would be so pretty near some heucheras, pearl glam beauty berry, maybe a ninebark and a birdbath?
The statue is just perfect there! So fun to follow along as you develop your property..you give me so many ideas and info. It's like going to gardening school!!
Love the blue grama grass! One our local IGCs put in a bed a few years ago with birches, winterberry, grama grass and some boulders and it is stunning! Highly recommend!
I thought that looked like Grama grass. Last year, I planted seed then critters dug in the soil so I figured they ate the seeds. I forgot about it until this year when a clump of Grama grass emerged. I'm going to plant some Baptisia seed I collected several years ago. Maybe next spring there will be a surprise for me.
So cute the way held on and hugged the girl statue whilst in the back of the gator, to ensure she does not fall. It is obviously a special gift. Love from sunny Sydney, Australia.
I know everyone watches your videos first thing in the morning while drinking their coffee, but I watch your videos at bedtime with my 7 year old daughter before songs and prayers cause she loves them ❤️
Thanks Laura and Aaron for providing such beauty to start the day. I appreciate your vision to not only plop a plant in the ground just for color but to take into consideration its future growth and size. I have learned so much from you. You are a blessing-thank you.
Love the Fall color in these plants! The South Garden has come a long way, it is looking beautiful! Love watching the South Garden grow with your visions & ideas coming to life! Perfect spot for that statue! 🍁🍂💛🧡
Hi Laura! I've been watching your videos now for about four years now and I absolutely love them! You have taught me so much. In regards to the western part of your yard with the arbs ... this has always been my FAVORITE part of your yard. I love the formality of it. Just the simplicity alone .... you have so many other beautiful things in your garden ....I i think you need this area to stay simple. Just my opinion... and love the fall plantings and pumpkins/cabbages you planted around the trees there. I would have to walk by this area every evening with the kids on my evening walk. I truly enjoy your videos and was freaking out when Jenny came for a visit. I was giddy!!!!
Aaron, the lawn is looking so lush and the mowing lines translate into happy times for you. I like the little Maiden statue in that perfect spot. Laura you are making everything look so very beautiful and full of love.
I enjoy the plants and statues so much! Thank you for sharing it with us. I grew up in Texas but have been in 'high rise, steel and concrete' Chicago for the last 13 years, so thanks for the reminder of earth and green things!
Good morning from Canada. 🇨🇦 Hang on to her for dear life Laura...lol... Gosh ur enthusiasm is so endearing. Morning coffee & Garden answer. Best way to start the day. ❤🍂🍁
Just beautiful beautiful plants today Laura. Your new garden is filling up really nicely now. Love all the different seasons of colour you will have in your garden. Will be a beautiful show. You statue looks really good were you put her. I really lovely video today Laura.
I love that he color changes but also the texture of the plants you added. I added some interested grasses to the property. I am usually a flower girl. But the unusual shapes drew me in. Now I want to add more!
I can't get over that you are wearing a coat today! I live in Midland, Ontario, Canada and I am still going outside with shorts and a T shirt on. I am amazed that you are closer to the sun than we are and yet we are experiencing warmer weather. I especially love when you are planting new stuff down on the biggest chunk of your land and I love seeing the place come together for you and Aaron. I can hardly wait to watch you trim in the grass pathways and make it pop. Good job as always.
So many pretty things! And I love the itea! I have a shade garden that I'm going to start creating next season. We just finished a bunch of hardscape and got a dead tree out and some other trees limbed up. I need shade loving and deer resistant plants and shrubs. The itea will definitely be on my list! Thank you so much for the info. You guys do such a great job and it is a sweet spot in my day.
Hi Laura, I’m a retired teacher and now do some subbing. I was in aTK class that was learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin. The students weren’t clear about what a vine was so I found your episode on the pumpkin harvest you recently posted. I showed them just a snippet of where you cut a small pumpkin off the vine. It was perfect!
Laura- Not related to this vid but I literally took 80% of the plantings out of one of my flower beds & TOTALLY redesigned it, & I LOOOOVVVEEE IT! So if you see this I just want to say ty for giving me the push I needed to change things up in my garden. I'm the type that will work/plant around an area that I'm really unhappy with (in the end just making it worse & being more unhappy with it!) instead of pulling & moving it fir the fear that ill shock it or kill it..
Perfect spot for your statue! She is beautiful and will watch over and care for your garden day and night while looking glorious in her pose. Good find Aaron!
I love that I finally know all of these plants because we have them planted in Oklahoma 😊 I absolutely love your videos! You put out amazing educational and exciting content. Keep up the great work!👏
The statue looks great in its new home! Wouldn't it be cute to take a photo of your sweet kiddos next to it every year? From towering above their heads now (especially Samantha's) to looking down on its head years later.
Hi Laura and Aaron! Those shrubs/plants are going to look so good. I'm glad you finally found a spot for the maiden statue. She looks good there. Thank you for sharing!
Good Morning everyone! Or Evening! LOVE the thumbnail! 🤩 In my previous 3 videos I also have been trying to develop some Fall & Winter Interest! Here in Central Texas we are still in the upper 80s & 90s for another week, so I am just LOVING your jacket and Fall vibes Laura!! Always love your ideas! Best!
Because of Laura, I now see statuary in the garden very differently! I used to think statues were a bit fussy, or that my garden wasn’t formal enough. But the charming “garden girl” you moved today absolutely made that spot come alive. So…….I’m rethinking my statue-less garden and keeping my eyes peeled for just the right one to adopt and give a new home to. Thanks for widening my horizons. 👍
My Little Henry is located up against the brick of my north facing house and is doing great. It gets only a little evening sun but still flowers well. You are right about less fall color-it turns yellow but nothing deeper. Statue looks beautiful!😊
O Laura I loved this video🍁💗 it made me want to go back out to the garden center to see what I can plant for fall interest which of course is one of my favorite seasons. Like many I suffered from Winter depression until I got deeper into gardening these last several years you shared so many ideas and projects that can be done to motivate you through each season I can't thank you enough🙏 Seeing the love and care that you have for the little girl statue that Aaron got you is so touching. And she looks adorable in that spot I agree with you it's just perfect.
Fun video with some very interesting plants I’ve never seen before👏🏻 and the adorable statue is perfect‼️🤩 don’t you love it when a plan comes together💖🌻
It's going to be so exciting to see how all this comes together next year as the plants mature and grow. A before and after aerial view would be awesome..
