Hi woody your peas look great have to say , hoping ours come out of gutter so well , sweet peas have to say one of my secret likes they are , as for grafting your the man to see brilliant 👏. Keep safe Bill and val
Hey thanks guys! It's one of those "Will they/won't they" come out of the gutters moments LOL 🤣 Yes, we love sweet peas too. Very happy with the grafts so far, will have to get them potted up soon. Very best wishes 👍
You're right about that PPG! Very satisfying when they slide straight into their alloted space. We're still getting frosts here so hoping to start work on greenhouses next week. Thanks for your kind comments. Best wishes 👍
I like how you plant your peas with the gutters. This all reminds me I need to get going on my cucumbers, squash and melons. It's just really nice to be planting and growing things again. Stay well Woody. 😊
Hi Cindy The gutter sown method is really the best method for me these days; in the past I used to sow direct into the ground and then the pea weevil decimated the young seedlings (or pigeons pulled them out). Yes, the cucurbits need to be sown now. It felt good to be planting out Cindy, although were still having frost warnings here (frostiest April in over 60 years). stay safe too my friend :-)
Always good to be in the process of planting out. Lovely peas. I have never tried the guttering method. Nice dense sweet peas plants and many plants in progress in the greenhouse👍. Your season is well underway Woody. Thanks for sharing.
Yes it's good to be getting some plants out at last, and those peas went in perfectly! We love sweet peas and those were from my own seed saved last year. The greenhouse plants will have to wait a little longer as it's still very cold at night. Very best wishes to you my friend 🤗❤️
Looking great Woody, mangetout peas and sweet peas in, lettuce in the greenhouse still looking great, Take care Woody and I'll catch you on the next one.
Wonderful seeing what you are putting out, Woody. Will be putting out snow peas this weekend after I get the grass tamed in our micro orchards. It is always interesting seeing how different plot growers manage the spaces they have. That gutter system is genius! Cheers, Rob
Hi there, yes as long as you give them a good watering first they should slide right out. I find it much better than sowing direct into the soil. Thanks for watching and stay safe 👍👍
Late, but still in the top 10.. I'm like #10! You look like you're in your element in the sun Woody! So nice to see such great weather is finally visiting you!! That worked beautifully!! Nice job with the gutters!! I'm looking forward to seeing the sweet peas too! Look at all those goodies in that greenhouse!! Lovely to be getting things into the ground!! Won't be long before the tomatoes are in too!! Cheers Woody! I hope you have a good night!!🤗💖
in the top ten is awesome! yes, I love the sun Chris and will probably pay for it sometime but I don't really care tbh. Its been marvellous weather but did you know the UK has had the most frost in April in over 60 years! very very happy with the way the peas slid out the gutters Lol, and soooo looking forwards to the sweet peas. I'm hoping to plant my 'large' variety tomatoes out next week, cherry's will follow a bit later. hope you have a good night too my friend :-) Cheers!
I love the sun too, but it doesn't love me, it just burns me! lol Yes you've had a crazy winter of rain, then crazier frosts!! I think that's why I'm as delighted as I am to see you getting some sun!! Oh yeah, the gutters worked beautifully! Like a pro! This is my first year for sweet peas and I can't wait to have my first sniff! Wow tomatoes out as soon as that, how wonderful!! Thank you, if I can get technology to work for me... I just might have a good night! LOL Cheers!🤗💖@@cumbrianhomestead
Hi Keith In typical UK fashion the weather turned after planting those peas out! We've had the frostiest April for over sixty years with big temperature fluctuations. The peas will be okay, I've out fleece over the rest. Cheers mate!🍻👍
Next three nights are going to be cold, not sure if it will fall to freezing but not far off. I've just covered some plants with fleece. Cheers mate 🍻👍
We don't grow peas but yours look great. That planting method in gutters is really great. Like you we are about half planted. Stay well. Best wishes Bob.
Oooh, those peas look lovely! You've overtaken mine now :D Excited to see your grafting results video - mine are still a bit dormant but the rootstocks I grafted the quince on to are trying to bud, so I'm still crossing my fingers! Love seeing your greenhouse update too, it's so nice having fresh stuff. Have a good BHW! H x
I breathed a sigh of relief when those peas slid into place 😂😂, as long as the pigeons leave alone! I hope your grafts are successful 🤞🤞🤞 We had frost again last night, so still having to delay planting tomatoes etc. Have a great weekend Helen. 🤗❤️
@@cumbrianhomestead I saw that Sarah Raven karate chops gutter-sown peas into segments so that they're easier to push out, but it's not nearly as dramatic/impressive :D
