I'm currently going through a lot of stress and, to be honest, quite a bit of frustration as well and it's just too easy for that to spin ever downward. So I decided to turn my home into a jungle, a space filled with growth and life that needs my careful observation. Not only do my lovely plants help me calm the storm inside my head, no, through this new passion of mine I'm always finding new people to share it with. And well, I'd like to say thank you. The genuine excitement and love for everything wonderfully weird that lives beside you rings in your voice. Listening to you is such a soothing experience and after an especially dreadful and draining day, it's fantastic to listen to your laugh while caring for each and every plant living with me in my jungle. Thank you!

Oh Lyn, I love how you have compassion for even the smallest of "things" by saving the little fly. So many people would have killed it as a pest. I try not to kill anything unless I absolutely have to. All life is precious. The cactus already looks so much better that it did in the introduction video where you unpotted it. I can't wait to see updates. Also your rickrack/zigzag epiphyllum in the background is beautiful. I have wanted one to add to my collection for a while but can't manage to get one. Thanks for another great video.

I just love watching your videos, so much information and such a happy personality. Also, something as was said previously by another lovely lady in a comment below. All life is precious, thank you for being so kind. Also could you please show us the Opuntia Subulata family in the polytunnel? I would love to see them all next to each other if you do a video on that some time. Thanks so much for making these videos. xx

Oh wow. Just looked this up. Opuntia Subulata Monstrose in anseach showed me “Gumby”.... I saw this in the search as well and I think what u have is “Christmas Tree Cactus”? Maybe? These all look so similar lol. The only reason I think it may be Cylindropuntia subulata f. monstrosa is because the Opuntia Sub Monstrose is chubby and looks more like a fat eves needle? Correct me in my confusion? They appear so different and I wouldn’t mind adding this little guy to my “search for” list :)

This video just helped me ID my plant Iv been curious about for a while. Iv been thinking it’s a succulent this whole time. Do you have any experience trying to use this as graft stock? Seems like it would be decent for grafting seedlings and other smaller cacti.
@desertplantsofavalon
@desertplantsofavalon 2 года назад
Thats fantastic news that you was able to ID your cactus from this video, I haven't used this plant as a graft stock, but I think it would be a good one to use for grafting stock as its a nice compact and hardy grower, thanks so much Erik for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful weekend XXXX

Affirm your not watering after transplant. If there is a pathogen anywhere in the soil watering will spread it, so giving the plant time to close it's tiny root injuries will help. (No authority)

Thank you kindly Lyn and Hans for all your helpful information. I have a question. My parent's cactus is 40 years plus. I need advice on how to care for it. It's growing a gray/white stuff that turns red when smashed. I'll try to Google what kind of cactus it is
