Your channel got pushed back a bit on my frontpage so I have not seen all your videos after you were done with your home build. It is good to see you are doing good and keeping busy. I am looking forward to your next video, be it about gardening, DIY or whatever else you feel like posting. Stay safe and healthy

Great to see you and your wife again. It seems like every time I see something you are doing, I learn something new. I too have the T-Posts but I used garden fencing, but every year I have to take it down to turn the soil. Your method would make that so much easier. Thanks for the video and stay safe and healthy.

Look into the Back to Eden method. You no longer till the soil, but instead cover it with a deep layer of mulch. You soil health will improve year over year, the soil won’t become compacted, and you will practically eliminate your need to water unless you experience a drought. Plus you reduce weeding and won’t get dirty or muddy when you walk in the garden. It will change the garden from a place of drudgery to a place of enjoyment.

First I’ve heard of cattle fencing. To keep deer out I am going to use welded wire from the ground up to about 4 feet but then I’m going to try cattle fence to extend it up to about 7 feet since it looks sturdy. Since my garden is only 6 feet deep I may try to use cattle fence as a roof and weave a cloth on it so they don’t try and jump in. I have terrible trouble with deer eating my tomatoes etc in my 25 x 6 garden so a high fence is my first attempt at keeping them out this year. Need to use welded wire below to keep their heads out but if that becomes an issue I may use chicken wire.

Is there a reason that you leave a space in between each Arch? Do you ever have problems with snakes climbing the arches and presenting danger?
@ArkansasHomesteader
@ArkansasHomesteader 3 месяца назад
I leave the space between them just to be able to easily get my wheelbarrow around the garden. My garden is far bigger than I need, so space isn’t an issue for me. But if you wanted to you could easily fit more in the space. As for snakes, we have never had any in the trellises. We did find on rat snake in our strawberries on year, but he has been the only one we have seen.

How have things turned out on the homestead as we move into fall?
@ArkansasHomesteader
@ArkansasHomesteader 10 месяцев назад
Well we are loving the peace and quiet of living out in the country again. Our garden did great this year and our son hatched out the homesteads first batch of chickens. We built a mobile chicken tractor until we can design our permanent chicken house/run. We also harvested our bee hive for the first time. And somehow I failed to capture ANY of it on video. I really do need to do better with focusing on videoing.

Luke 8:21-23 King James Version 21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. 22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. 23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. Gods blessings over you .
