I was watching a video of yours from 3 years ago. You and Aaron were doing a Q & A. In there you talked about how you would love a Hartley greenhouse, but knew it wasn’t possible at the time…..and look, here you are today…..living your dream 💕. Do you guys ever watch videos back and truly see how far you have come? You two should be so proud. Thank you for your channel. You two bring happiness and knowledge to many. 😊
Oh my goodness! I JUST watched the exact video yesterday! I was thinking how nice it is to see someone's dream come to pass and how anything is possible!
Good morning from Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇲 We are hoping for some of your cool weather Halloween weekend.🤞 Time for Winter planning in our semi-tropical gardens. Your patience for Transplanting and Replanting is something we all could strive for 👍 Your attention to detail is excellent 👌 Nice finished look💕
Hi neighbor! I’m in St Augustine just a short drive away. I’m so happy we are seeing a little bit of a cool off finally... maybe now I can plant some pansies!!!
@@lisaburnette6850 Hi Lisa 👋 We love Amelia Island and keep an eye on the temps. You guys are getting cooler faster. I love keeping in touch with other Florida gardeners. I have a channel and also my FB page. Your Pansies will surely last into Spring. 👩🌾👍
I SO enjoy your videos!!! 🥰❤️ love watching how you plan and plant and your description along the way. L😍VE following you around including in your ‘buggy’. Love and appreciate all your tips 😊 so enjoyed seeing your little Benjamin (Adorable!) 🥰 and his ‘vehicles’ parked by your front door. Lastly, L😍VE love love what you did in your flower box. 🥰😊. 💘💘your patio ensemble too!!
My favourite part of this video, aside from seeing the o-so adorable Benjamin, was the sound effects Laura made when showing us the window box when it was done
As I've gotten older (57) I've noticed that the condition of my hands suffer if I don't wear gloves. I actually wear them for most tasks outside, year round. When your fingertips split, the pain is exquisite. Enjoy your youth while you can! Love you and your show!
When I saw all the plants in the back of the gator, I thought she must have decided to do all the window boxes. Silly me, I should never doubt your ability when it comes to get a LOT of plants in one area! It's beautiful of course!! 😁💖👍
❤️👍🏻🐱👦🏻 Love your videos so much! You and Benjamin and your kitties and all the plant stuff. Just brightens my day so much. Thanks for being such a bright light in this not-so-easy world! 😊
How cute would it be if you were able to make Benjamin and Samantha a small “barn” that he could park his tractor and small toys in? I can only imagine how beautiful it would be planted around. Kinda like the small butterfly garden you created for him this spring!
I don’t understand the people that gave this a thumbs down within 30 minutes of posting. Do you wait every morning for her post to do this? If so you need a hobby. Maybe take up gardening 🤣
Totally agree with you. They are very strange. I love every video even though I don't do most of the things she does. It's always a learning experience and a joy to watch.
Gorgeous! I` going to copycat your ornamental kale window box planting combination down here in Brasil. Never seen anyone using it here. I`ve used it before in the USA but had forgotten about it till I came across this video of yours. Thanks!!
Morning yall! We are expecting weather into 40s this week at night so time to get the garage ready with a heater for the plants that need over winter, only bringing in a few to keep in house like pothos, bird of paradise, monstera deliciosa and plumeria. Wish I could bring them all in but my cats won't leave any plants alone so I can only fit so many in my room or hang on wall. I have about 60 angel trumpets in ground that will spring back up .Hope yall have a wonderful week!!
I anxiously got all my houseplants in before nighttime tips fell below 55, like you I had Bird of Paradise, one of my many Pothos, plus my Split-leaf Philodendron, 2 Fiddle Leaf Figs, my geraniums, Lavender plants grown from seed and my big Boston Fern(I purchased it in the Spring, it’s really doing so well so I’m hoping I can overwinter it. Good luck with yours!
@@ruthblack1996 Same to you as well! Do you have a process that you do for making sure you don't bring any pest in with the plants? I sprayed some down with Jack's dead bug spray but I am concerned what may be in the soil, I am a fairly new beginner to houseplants I am much more experienced and comfortable with my outside plants so always second guessing myself with my indoor 🪴. I am in zone 8b East Texas. Thank you!
@@fancygirl822 I first soaked down the soil of each plant with water, then let it drain, after which I liberally sprayed every leaf down with a Neem oil spray! After being in the house for over two weeks I’ve only seen a couple of gnats.
When you grabbed the gloves, I noticed. Seems like old times to see you pack out a window box like this. You know, for a nice, clean look 😁 Sometimes, you really crack me up, Laura. Either way, it's beautiful. Hope Aaron and the babes are feeling better. ~ Lisa
As usual I really enjoyed this video. Love your work, and love B Pegasus. They are called B Gryphon in the UK... I sell begonias on line in Britain and it is the most popular one I sell!
Great to see the begonias potted up for the inside. I took some cuttings of begonias as I had limited space. It would be interesting to see inside the heated greenhouse - how it coming together.
Good morning GA fans! Fun project. A little string of red or white lights at the very edge of the window box and some red twig dogwood with some lights would be amazing at Christmas! With the new heated greenhouse just think of the plants that could be overwintered. Why did you not save the other begonias in the greenhouse?
Good morning everyone!! I am so excited. We ordered “The Stance” Dewalt 9” auger yesterday. We have so many plants to get in the ground! Thank you Laura and Aaron for putting the link up. We ordered the Ultimate Landscape one also that comes with 2 extra batteries, a case, and the bulb auger, the quart auger and the 7” auger. Thanks for your inspiration. (This was my Hartley)! So happy husband said yes!! Now I need to practice The Stance!
I watched that too... did you find the small size of that tree a little odd since they grow so slow? I know large trees are expensive but dang that was a small tree lol!
*BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!!* 👏🏾👏🏾🥊🥊 So glad you're trying to use your gloves more. Idk what it is, I'm sure it's just me, but it's triggering to see someone gardening without gloves on. 😬 Probably because when I was young like Benjamin I started gardening with my parents as well, and they always stressed the use of gloves. I've been watching you since the beginning of your channel and it's so pleasing to see your growth and part of me wishes I could have a garden full of tulips, but I live in South Florida and you know those bulbs would be cooked liked baked potatoes in less than a week if left in the ground. Even digging down 6 to 7 inches feels like your gardening in a pot of hot ground beef, lol it's like living in a humid oven most of the year. 😄 But, I continue to wish you all the best.
The window box is absolutely beautiful. It’s going to be gorgeous with the red twigs. I have some angel leaf begonias outside that I will put in one pot for winter and bring inside. Thanks for the idea.
The window box is just beautiful. I've never liked those cabbage plants or pink, must say I'm loving those, guess at 63 I'm mellowing. Noticed you didn't use the Euro scubbie on the window box, was that because they weren't that dirty, or did it wear out.? I have a friend in England coming home for Christmas, thinking about asking her to bring a couple, they're crazy expensive to get here.
That window box is beautiful. That plant combination is so pretty.. what was the name of the color of the kale? The gloves are so much safer. We saw a lady on TV that almost died from something she picked up in the soil. I would really hate for you to get sick.. Pat in NC
If people want to try an amazing begonia for non stop flowers and lovely mounting habit, give glowing embers a go...lovely orange/amber flowers and dark leaves and stems. Will make sure to keep the tubers of mine and divide it for 2022
Your high of 70 degrees is freezing winter weather where I live 😂 Thank you for showing how the pansies looked before you placed them in the window box. It’s encouraging to see how something like that can look amazing if planted the right way. You mentioned that they were intended for somewhere else in the garden… I’m really curious about how you plan out your plant order each year. Are you very specific about exactly how many of each plant you need? Or is it more like, you just order a ton of stuff and you designate plants for certain areas later?
I use a local product called “bee naturals” they call it a skin care bar > it’s like a lotion but heavy on the bees wax which creates an amazing barrier for water that can be very drying for our skin and body > a nurse invented it because she had to wash her hands a billion times a day > I will send some to you and your mom ALSO people drink olive oil every day 1 tablespoon (maybe with tomato juice or something) to up the oil in the body > oil holds the moisture in our body… westerners tend to drink a ton of water to up the moisture but it’s actually drying… just like with our hands
Love how the window box turned out, Laura. I wait every evening at 7 pm here in Perth, Australia for your video. I have learned so much from you and adapt it to my climate zone in Perth. Especially pots and window box ideas. My garden has evolved so much and getting better every year. Cannot thank you enough. Please keep doing what you do. You are an inspiration for me. Love from Australia.
For me it is just after lunch in South Africa. I agree with your comment, have learned so much and my garden has never looked this good, all thanks to Laura
How fun!! I was loving Benjamin peeking out at you♥️ He’s such a sweet little fella! I have a product you need to try, if you haven’t already, CeraVe Cream for rough and bumpy skin. I’m a hairstylist and my Dr told me about it. It has saved my hands, arms, legs…everything but my face and décolleté, they have a cream for that for day and night. I love all their products!(I use their face wash, too) Sorry, not an ad, I just love that you pass down all your gardening knowledge, so I had to share some helpful lessons that were shared with me♥️ Arron and the kids are in our prayers for swift recoveries. I pray you stay well. Thank you for all you do, your a blessing♥️
Hi Laura, hope everyone is feeling better🤧🤒. I have a question about growing the begonia as a houseplant . I grew mine from seed after seeing yours in a previous video. (What a challenge!) Can I pinch the top growth to make it bushier? Mine looks like yours that were removed from the window box. Kind of spindly. Not sure if your houseplant is made up from just one, or is that several to give it that full look. Not much knowledge when it comes to indoor plants. I’m much more of an outdoor addict. P.S. Thanks for getting me through the winters here in CT (6a). I totally agree with you and gloves. I start out wearing them and ten minutes into the project, THEY ARE OFF!
Loved learning how easily it is to bring begonias inside! Just noticed how beautiful the begonias were outside yesterday and happy to know that we can move them inside for the winter! Thanks for all your helpful tips!
@Admin+❶❸⓿❾❷❺⓿❼❼❸❺ Thanks. I'm managing the flower beds at my husband's golf course in the Niagara Peninsula, zone 6 with clay soil for the first year, as we just got married last year. His mom died 6 years ago and he has not been able to do much beyond daffodils and canna lilies, so I have found your videos quite helpful. He bought some sprinklers for the flower beds last week and hopefully he can install them before next summer!
You've made me fall in love with the big overgrown look, & now you're loving the clean crisp look... 😆 it's funny how our styles change over the years!
Me, avoiding all the red plants for my flowerbeds... wait, she's planting lots of red. Me, planning the red plants for my flowerbeds for next year. I do love the way Laura changes things up.
Have you tried preserving moss with silica gel (sand)? I don't suppose you have moss growing in your area since you are so dry there. We have moss growing in a couple of areas. Might have to give it a go! I am so grateful for your channel and all you share with us!
Hi Laura and sweet Benjamin...I love your window boxes!! Thanks for showing the chickens. I had missed seeing them and just love them!!! We haven't had a frost where I live in N.H. yet which shocks me but I am going to try to winter over a potted hydrangea in our garage to see if I get blooms earlier than fall next year...it is a proven winners big leaf blue flowered one...you give me courage to try things. Thank you for all you do!!!
I absolutely love all your videos. You inspire me to do a lot with my tiny space filled with different kinds of flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Quick question though, How do you keep snakes (or any other creepy crawlers) away from the garden? We have so many of them here and it is terrifying to see them. I know there are fancy gadgets out there but I don’t know any that are effective and was wondering if you had any insights. Thank you 🥰
You mentioned that you cut back your clematis. Can I cut back all of mine this fall? I have a few varieties but am not sure what they are. I'm in zone 5
The window boxes look fabulous! May I ask what the manufacture is for the chair that Russell was lying in? They are so beautiful! I’m looking for something similar to put on my front porch. Thanks!
Super pretty combination in the window box! 😍 Off topic question: is your hair naturally curly? If not, which tool do you use to curl your hair? It is so pretty all the time 😊
FYI Laura has stated that her hair is naturally very curly and she chooses to straighten it, but if they happen to have humid weather, which is rare for them, her hair will revert to its natural curls😊
It's so exciting to get to see the fall color in your videos now! I'm in Texas, zone 8, and things are just now starting to color up, temps still in the 90s. Seeing your gorgeous weather gets me in the fall mood 😍🍁🎃
Oh Laura, only you would think a tree rat is cute.. They are a vein to my existence, they dig in all my gardens and dig huge holes in the grass. I planted my garlic and had to cover all the beds. UGGGG
If that squirrel digs up her window boxes she won’t think they are so cute! They dig up every pot on my porch. The pansies end up sitting on top of the soil. They are right up there with the deer on my list. Sorry Laura but they are pests.
