Nice hardy strain for sure and great info. . I grew many of those from seed nearly 20 years ago. I got the seed from Kiril in Bulgaria. They are nice palms. Yours look awesome

@@tntropics Thanks. Trachycarpus certainly like it, that is for sure. It has been a long dry summer and the gardens are needing rain

I see that you said planting it Aaron's 18 inches from the wall is what you were going to do. I am getting two of them this week, one 5 ft and one 7 ft. I want to plant them at the 2 front corners of my house. I'm in 7b. I don't want the fronds rubbing against our touching my house. What do you recommend?
@tntropics
@tntropics 2 месяца назад
I Answered you on PT. About 66 inches is what I recommended there based on what you said. Here I am trying to take advantage of the heat from the wall in winter as I am slightly too cold for these palms some years.

And so sorry for having to double answer, I went on PT after asking you here because I thought it was an old video of yours so you may not answer it as many RU-vidrs seem to not answer questions posted on super old visit. But thank you anyway!

We are getting ready to plant a Windmill palm from a 10 gallon pot I’ve had since last fall. We live in 7B Arkansas. Rock ground and clay! I know I will have to protect it from cold temps (I have done it this winter already). It has been doing great. I hope we transplant it successfully. Any other helpful suggestions? Dig the whole and drop it in? What about fertilizer? I think I read not to fertilize…Is this correct? Thank you!!
@tntropics

Don't plant into a rocky hole if that's what you're asking. Clay is fine and you can plant in April or so there and fertilize with a slow release fertilizer like osmocote outdoor or palmgain within a couple weeks if this is a potted palm.

@@tntropicsso if it’s in the ground don’t fertilize at all? for the same amount of time? what about rooting hormone?

Was about to plant a windmill palm in joke about the same size as the one in the bud but there is a big rock at the bottom and I’m worried it will be bad for the palm
@tntropics

Yea don't plant on top of a rock. Insure at least 2 foot down and to the sides.
