Really do enjoy your everyday farming and equipment maintenance videos keep them coming they’re informative and old school not everyone farms 5000 acres with multi million dollar equipment
Lucky enough to get in here very early. I love the music added to the videos from time to time. I think they add a lot to the channel. Keep doing what you like. It makes for good YouTubing!!
On the old van brunt drill I used, there was a long rod that we ran through the chains and it laid on the footboard held up by the brackets. Never lost it in the field or going down the road. It's amazing we didn't but it worked well. Just grabbed one end and pulled it out when we got to field.
Having that gopro right down on the business end lets you see if there is any issues going on. I used to lay my cell down under and car and move the steering clutch shifter... to see what was loose.
Nice to see you were able to get wheat in, not many are near me. Like you said about Michigan weather, Ohio's the same, damn near daily they call for frost, snow, rain and it never comes.
A no till drill will open up a lot of possibilities as far as land conditions and fighting the weather. There is a trade off of sorts between land prep and no till and you will have to find a way to fit it into your operation. I have a 10 ft Great Plains and it suits my small operation well especially for cover crops. I bought it used. It had about a little over a thousand acres on it and was in very good condition. I paid 15.000 for it. I do a custom pasture winter seeding thing for some neighbors and that helps offset the payments some. I would love to see you get one. It really is a time and fuel saver.
Thanks for the video. I've really enjoyed your recent content. Very curious how the ground you took the trees off yields and think you've got a great idea putting the extra seed wheat on that area for cover this winter. Hope the rest of your harvest season is relatively trouble free.
Was watching the chain while you was planting it was skipping some . Sure you watched it , not pointing fingers just trying to be helpful. From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful
I don't know how dry you guys are but we're pretty dry in Southern Ohio and there's guys still sticking wheat in the ground here one guy chopped corn silage Saturday and no tilled wheat today
You talk of another drill as happy as you are with your corn planter have you thought about settling up a white planter for 15 inch beans and just use the drill for wheat ?
That’s a good point but I know from your videos you are happy with the job the corn planter did this year and if a bean planter would do just as good with seed placement on beans I think you would be just as happy . I don’t know how many acres of wheat you put out but your drill would last longer just doing wheat . Just food for thought not telling you what to do your yields say your doing a good job with what your doing now
