Level 8 is actually more Last Stand. First off, you get 5000 sun, second off, it’s the Last Stand gamemode, and third, the whole “threats add up” is also Last Stand’s deal.
All the references they made in PvZ 15th anniversary event: - 1: The first Adventure mode level or the very first level in PvZ (due to a Peashooter being planted in the middle row) - 2: Beat the level using only PvZ1 plants and zombies - 3: 4-5 Vasebreaker, the 3rd segment (og oe consists of 3 parts) - 4: Wall-nut Bowling 2 - 5: 1-10, the first "Ultimate Battle" - 6: The upgrade plants (the 2 kernels are a Cob Cannon, Pea Pods as Pea Gatlings and Gloom Vines are Gloom-shrooms) - 7: Unused Minigame: Air Raid - 8: Last stand Minigame (each flag represents one big swarm, and giving 250 sun, which is 1000 cuz of 50 sun meta) - 9: Unused Minigame: Grave Danger (graves spawn throughout the level) - 10: 4-10, replaying it a second time makes the Yeti appear - 11: Column Like You See 'Em (but not a conveyor this time) - 12: Beghouled Minigame (with all the same plants) - 13: Zombiquarium Minigame - 14: Invisighoul Minigame (some of the plants are the same as in the og) - 15: A bunch of references, including: Zombies on your Lawn (the Sunflower) 1-10 (again) Unsodded (unused minigame) Big Trouble Little Zombie (3-5) Can You Dig It? and Squirrel (both unused minigame, again) Seeing Stars, Art Challenge Wallnut and Sunflower (the latter two being unused) Zomboss fight (the giant balls)
The reason I first got into PvZ is because my dad pirated a lot of random games from some piracy website, and PvZ just so happened to be one of them, I absolutely loved playing it everyday as a kid, even today my dad still plays it on his phone! It got a lot of nice memories between me, my siblings, and dad so it definitely have a special place in my heart, happy 15 years PvZ 🎉
The dialogue in this makes me feel so nostalgic to when I first started playing the game. If the international version could muster a single iota of that feeling, it would be special, but that’s apparently asking too much of them.
I got introduced to PVZ when I saw one of my cousins play it. I noticed they were having a bit of trouble with one of the fog levels, and noticing how Tall-Nut is able to counter Pogo Zombie well, that gave me the idea to try and help them. I don’t remember what plants I picked (besides Tall-Nut for the pogos), but it worked out in the end. For my first time playing it, I thought it was really fun, and ever since then, I started playing the game for myself and got super addicted to it! That brings us up to today, where I still play the game even if (like you said) it’s not as popular as it was back in the day. I just think no matter what happens, I will always be a PVZ fan through and through, and I have my cousins to thank for this wonderful experience that I was given.
They have Plants vs Zombies in the Underground? That's neat! Also yeah same I love PvZ, used to play the demo ALL THE TIME in daycare and then when I got the free mobile version I GRINDED that game!
@@goldfishchromee i remember trying to get all achieviments but never getting one that was "beat a level with only explosives" cuz the game has like, 3 or 4 explosives, and you have around 10 slots, prob was to only kill with those and using the rest of slots with walls and sunflowers lmao
@@bl4me_me Doing adventure 2 1-1 is a pretty easy way of doing it, its just basics so any zombie variants wont be much of a problem, the only achievent I didnt get back then was "get every plant in zen garden" bc my game was bugged and I could only get colored marigolds
For me, it was temporarily banned because it was “too violent.” I wonder if my school teachers are connected with that infamous “THIS GAMEW MUCH BAD” review…
@@LUCAS420BLZ Maybe balance changes, better graphics and more features wouldnt hurt, like a finished limbo page, more minigames add the special content from the xbox port etc.
You can try PvZ 2 Pak, it fits the bill very well. For me, well, I would wish they ended PvZ2 man, imagine that their last effort would be an actually well made level design and final boss fight.
Insane to think how far weve come and its always interesting to hear how everyone got into pvz all that time ago. For me personally, my grandma used to hold me on her lap while filling her lawns with awesome defences, it was her favorite game of all time. Happy birthday to pvz and cheers to all the people keeping it alive, we all know the devs wont!
I got into PvZ from watching a playthrough by a RU-vidr named NintendoCaprisun, back when I was just in elemetary school, my love for the game blossomed and I remember playing the game constantly after begging my parents to buy it for me,, I ended up playing the game a lot, and even got into playing PvZ Adventures (RIP) and PvZ Heroes as well, I’m so glad the community keeps this series alive, cause god only knows it wouldn’t have made it if we let PopCap try,, thats it I love your videos it’s like a PvZ long play for me to rest my head to after classes and labs, and banger music choices as well :3
i got introduced to pvz when i played it on my ps3 because it came with it. me and my sister were obessed with the game. my dad got me garden warfare 1. i got the max level and everything and i begged for a ps4 so i could play gw2 but i didnt get one till 2019? i always remember being intrested in the chinese edition of pvz2 thank you for helping me on learning. this channel is amazing
an childhood friend of mine shown me this game and it was love at first grance, unfortunetely i will never be able to play pvz with him again, it´s been years since he moved to another state and i could´nt find a way to contact him, this game have a lot of emotional value to me. ( as you can see english is not my first language so bear with me ).
I remember playing PvZ on my grandfather’s PC (rest in peace old man), and on an old iPhone that I can do longer get working. I remember wanting the console version at the time from seeing versus mode. Once I got the game on Christmas Day, I fell in love with the game. Only game that captured me faster than PvZ was DOOM 2016. Still though, it’s a damn fine port for the game
You know, I didnt think I was a big PvZ fan until I tried to remember when I first found PvZ. Unsurprisingly, being 3 when the first game released, I can't remember it all that clearly. But I do remember my older sister playing it on the family computer. I remember seeing the plants beyond world 1, the squash and the threepeater and blover and more. But only in the end of demo add, showing so much. I remember playing popcap games when my siblings got an Xbox live account for the 360, where we played the demos for peggle and PvZ, where I experienced the game for myself. I remember being at a friends house, and crying when the zombies won in the xbox couch pvp mode because they ate your brains and were scary for that. I remember the PVZ comics, the children's book, the art book, and my first experience seeing Chinese PvZ there. Ive been a PvZ fan my whole life, and I didn't even realize it until this video. Happy 15th birthday Plants Vs. Zombies
3:11 I think that's for showing Sun Bean doesn't work on Birthdayz zombies. 33:41 Reflourished players: oh, it's reference to Last Stand from PvZ 1! Flag Zombie: it's reference to Survival Mode from PvZ 1. Reflourished players: *Easter Island Stone Head Face moment*
Ngl, it’s weird remembering how PvZ as a franchise is older than me, but only by a little over a month, it’s WEIRD. Anyways- 2013, I came across PvZ2 on the App Store, and I saw it as a charming game, and so, I played it. I remembering getting to the end of Wild West, but can’t recall if I played Far Future. And, that was where it began for me with the Franchise. I stopped playing it a few months after finishing WW, but I kept going on & off with the franchise, especially the shooters. Interacting & replaying each game was so charming back in 2015-2018. It’s rather sad how bad of a state modern PvZ is in, I guess that’s how things go. I really do hope the franchise redeems itself in the following years, if Popcap is still around then. There’s so much potential & charm the series has & utilised which always brings me back. Though, no matter how dark it gets for the franchise, I’m staying with it, even if support for all of its game end eventually ❤ - Sleepy -
First time I played PvZ was when I played the first game on one of those self service kiosks at some restaurant that I can't even recall anymore, but I installed it on my tablet afterwards, and loved the whole franchise since. Edit: The restaurant was Chili's, just remembered lmao
21:37 PvZ All stars - a Chinese spin-off PvZ game (that has been shut down) actually have PvZ2 version of Pole Vaulting Zombie but instead of jumps over the first plant he encounter, he throws the pole to damage the leftmost plant
This genuinely put a huge smile on my face I loved all the references especially the more obscure ones like air raid and the art challenges it was all so good!
Might as well post the same list of references here too lol (I mde this comment on Kabi's video too) 1 - Standard intro (Peashooter is there cuz it's the first plant in any PvZ game) 2 - Only PvZ1 plants and Zombies (Mechanic is probably Zomboni, spawning the "bobsled team") 3 - 4-5 Vasebreaker, the 3rd section of that level 4 - Wallnut Bowling 2 (albeit slightly modified with the BBFs and SOS objective) 5 - 1-10 Ultimate Battle 6 - Survival: Endless and upgrade plants 7 - Unused minigame: Air Raid (only Balloons!) 8 - Last Stand (5 flags, 12 amounts of Sun every turn) 9 - Unused minigame: Grave Danger (Graves will spawn in throughout the level) 10 - 4-10, when you replay it, the Yeti appears) 11 - Column Like You See 'Em (a CYS this time) 12 - Beghouled (with all the og plants in it too!) 13 - Zombiquarium (very creative remake actually) 14 - Invisighoul (with most of the og plants and zombies in it) 15 - A multitude of references, including: - Zombies on your Lawn (the Sunflower) - 1-10 (again) - Unsodded (unused minigame) - Big Trouble Little Zombie - Can You Dig It? and Squirrel (unused minigames) - Art Challenges (Seeing Stars, AC Wallnut and AC Sunflower) - 5-10 (balls lmao) That's all the references I've got
Pretty sure Level 7 is a reference to Air Raid, either a DS/Limbo Page minigame that consisted exclusively of Balloon Zombies, but now with diversity in zombie type thanks to Steam Ages and the balloon imps.
I remember that the first version of PVZ i ever found / tried was actually the digital downloaded DSi version. Even today, it has some kind of odd charm to me
I remember playing pvz first time in my sister laptop when i still kid. The game still stuck in my brains forever into this day. Now i playing many pvz 2 mods and i cant believe pvz now 15 year now. Happy birthday PVZ.
Back when I was a kid, my dad decided to give his Xbox 360 to me. Since all the games were shooters, he decided to get me garden warfare. And that’s how I’m a big fan now
Originally got pvz on my DS for Christmas back in 2010, played every bit of it until I got it on Xbox 360, where I would sit there after school for HOURS just playing
My grandparents got me a CD copy of the first game as a gift, not realizing it was just the demo. I replayed it countless times before they got the full version. PVZ is one if the very few games I've put the time and effort in to fully complete it multiple times
I remember when it was just the first game. The good old days. I played it so much as a little kid it would be the only thing I would talk about. I’ll always have special place in my heart for the PvZ franchise.
What got me into Plants vs. Zombies was playing it on those little pads you use to pay in restaurants like Olive Garden or Red Robin. I got so into the game that I downloaded it on my phone. And the second one too on my dad's IPad. And I still have PVZ 1 and 2 on my phone. Along with PVZ on the DS.
The story of Steve meets PvZ is dramatic, but I’ll keep it as simple as possible: Evil step father says no kiddy games for Steve, so Steve shows game called Plants vs ZOMBIES. The zombies were the only reason Steve ever got to play this wonderful series, if not, step father would have said it’s a kiddy game and threw it away from me. He was stupid man.
I was introduced to PvZ from my Aunt that showed the game to my parents. I saw that my Aunt was on the roof level. After that day I asked my mom to download it onto the IPad we had and since then I’ve played both mobile games, Heroes, and all three shooters. I love this franchise and once I get a PC I’ll love to play these mods. I just hope that PopCap can recapture the feeling of the originals some day
I got introduced to PvZ by seeing it at Target, the game came with a lil figurine of sunflower. I played that pretty much every day after school and coming home after I finished swimming during the summer. Still remember dancing to Zombies on your Lawn in front of grandma lol
I honestly don’t remember when I first played pvz1, but it’s a childhood game of mine, and when pvz2 came out, I played it really quickly, old world map, mummy memory, and all.
I know it's a day old, but I first got into Plants vs Zombies when I found it through Shockwave and their games platform. Ended up loving it and spent a long time playing. Eventually got a DS copy, ended up losing it, and now I think I have the 2nd copy I got, maybe. I was super pumped when I read in a game magazine that they were making a sequel... except I didn't have a smartphone at the time, so I was absolutely bummed out when I figured out it was for mobile devices. Also, I'd like to think they give you a peashooter in the first level since it's the first ever plant in the game you ever get to use.
I genuinely cannot remember what got me into Plants vs Zombies, but I remember loving it as a kid, and I still share the same opinion to this day. I think I need to play PvZ 1 again lol. Also that vase breaker level referencing the first one has Dave use the exact same dialogue from the original, so that is AWESOME!
on my first ever laptop, i got many old popcap games installed including pvz (duh), although that wasn't the first time i played pvz, i was excited to play the levels and zen garden again, i completed it, then i started over in mobile, then completed that, and i saw pvz 2 (original) and my love for the franchise blossomed again, and that's how i'm still playing reflourished till this day
I think that Peashooter in the beginning was there to show for sure that Birthday Zombies are immune to Sun Bean by showing that they won’t drop Sun when damaged after eating Sun Bean.
In 2010, I saw my cousin played PvZ and the game instantly interested me. Once I got the game on PC, I played it all day, using cheat engine, hacking beat adventure mode, minigames etc multiple times. Good memories I played pvz Adventure on Facebook. The game was fun but it was really hard as you need power up to beat later stage. The game felt like "PvZ3 the prequel". I like PvP mode where you control zombies and attack other players to steal their brains. Meanwhile your plants have to protect the brain from zombies players. When PvZ2 comes out, I instantly thought it is a direct upgrade to PvZ1. I can ignore all the microtransaction and beat modern day. I dropped PvZ2 after level up was introduced. Too much grinding. PvZ Reflourished rekindle my love for this franchise
I am barely older than this game (1, not 2), and it might've been conceptualized even before that, crazy to think about. Was always one of THE games, had it on xbox 360 growing up.
Your day 1 strat was actually somthing i decided to do in a custom level. As for any pvz storys, i will be honest and say i was never the best, but when i beat Bobsled Bonanza, the level i was most scared of and yeah. I may of stopped playing many times over the years but i always come back
I got hooked on Plants vs Zombies the moment I played it in my Xbox. I had so much fun with the first game that I downloaded the second game as soon it dropped.
I was introduced to pvz when I was just browsing on the app store. You introduced me to pvz2 China which I really love, thank you for making videos about that.
For me pvz was introduced to me by just being interested by the title and I remember asking my cousin what crazy Dave was saying because I couldn't read that well ever since that day I played every main pvz game and some fan games and I will never stop loving it
I got into the series with the first game on Flash, then got addicted to 2 and Garden Warfare. My interest fell off for a while until I found this channel and Fry 'em Up.
My parents had the game as far back as i can remember. I have great memories of playing the Mini-games with my sister and looking through the Almanac. Throughout my life I kept getting sucked into the franchise every once in a while and I became really addicted once Reflourished released. Thank you Rfl Team, thank you PopCap, thank you PvZ community, and happy 15th anniversary!
Level 7 is actually a reference to Air Raid, one of the available but unused minigames in the official release (in Limbo page, need Cheat Engine to make it public in the game to play) The level is basically air-related zombies (and Catapults which I don't see RFL devs put any equivalents in this event)
First time played PvZ1 when my cousin taught me to play back in May 2013. I was so amazed that time. I also played PvZ2 and Adventures sometime later. PvZ was sooooo popular back then, that my elementary classmates even talk about it and draw plants together. Sad to think about this game has largely been forgotten by most people nowadays compare to a decade ago. It's 2024 now, and 2013 was 11 years ago. We're going far away from the past 🌱
My introduction to PVZ was way back when i was at Elementry School Where duiring class one of students showed us PVZ on computer Used to play PVZ 1 on IPad And even on my IPhone And still have it on my old computer
while i've played a lot of pvz 1 and 2, what really got me into this franchise was garden warfare, it was REALLY good for just a shooter spin off of a tower defense game, also garden warfare 2 was just a straight upgrade from the first one.
When I was like four, my mom wanted to connect so she showed me games she played, namely PvZ and Angry Birds. She doesn’t game anymore, but those two have stayed staples in my mind.
I just want to say, these Birthday Levels are brutally hard and fun, I really wish that you can replay them in the TravelLogs Island, these are actually fun
i don't remember what got me into pvz i either glanced at it during the flash games era, didn't really understand it, then realized it's a rage here on youtube, and i think i saw early episodes of that one guy who has over 1k pvz2 episodes lmao
You know what Zomboss should've done? Gone back in time, and make it so that EA purchasing PopCap never happened. That's why he keeps losing so much. Corporate greed is prolonging his suffering!
honestly i had lousy memories of how i got into pvz, i remember following many channels as a kid of people playing the whole pvz 1, i also remember being one of the first pvz2 plavers even before far future came out! i finished pvz 1 for the 1st time on Android around the age of 11.
15 having the UB reminds me of the Apple Mortar Tournament where Zombies on Your Lawn Played. I think zackscott has video of it because of course he does.
I got introduced to PVZ with the 'Official Introductory Videos' PVZ would do for new worlds, the first one I watched right as it came out was the lost city one
My journey with PvZ actually started last year, when I decided to boot up Flashpoint and try out the demo for the first game, and I really enjoyed it. After that I got the full game (though not the Steam version), played through all of it and fell in love with the franchise
I started playing PvZ with the early days of PvZ2 on my phone. My dad had a copy of PvZ on his work laptop, so we enjoyed talking about the franchise from time to time. A little sad about where the franchise has come to now, but it's still so fun to go into a level and bust up a horde or two.
I still remember playing PvZ 2 when it first began. I still remember booting up Garden Warfare 2 after school and just having the time of my life during my teenage years. What a time to be alive...
I remember watching my mom play PvZ on the pc. That’s how I found out about this game. I found PvZ for the DS at a GameStop. DS was my first experience playing PvZ. Today I’m a hardcore PvZ fan. Same can be said for the people watching this video.
I found out pvz was a thing due to my sister's (at the time) boyfriend playing through it. I thought it was really cool how every single level beaten added an entirely new plant to your loadout, and while I didn't know any of them it made it that much more special. Rushing past the little introduction of torchwood and wondering why it wasn't shooting the promised fireballs on its own was a fun experience. Back then though, before I had it myself, I was just sort of there to point out where uncollected sun was dropped. Good, simple times!
If I remember correctly I got into PvZ back some point after Oct 28, 2010 by finding and watching (Boltage) McGammar's let's play of it. I loved that let's play to bits. Then after that I would kinda bounce around the series not falling out of liking it but not really engaging with it either due to not playing the game. Then in 2014 I discovered PvZ2 after the Far Future update and not only did I love it, it made me a fan of the series!
I found out about pvz when a cousin played on his ds on an r4 cartridge from there I started to like it and then I started watching videos of pvz1 and then 2 and finally I'm here with flag zombie with Chinese pvz2 that whole odyssey is summarized I have been playing the games (some of them I have hacked because they are difficult) for 8 or 10 years and I am 17 years old. I knew the game when I was very young and it never ceases to amaze me how the community of this great game gets on board. work to have a different or improved version of the same game and if you are wondering which game is hacked it is the international pvz2 although I have another account with normal progress and without hacks my list of pvz games are pvz2 international chinese pvz2 pvz2 eclise pvz2 refloruished chinese pvz normal pvz and one that I have on another phone is pvz2 international but with Chinese plants I think that's it, thanks for reading it and if you liked it, tell me, greetings from Mexico and greetings also to flag zombie from Mexico :)
