What's your favorite plant esthetically and/or functionally and who's your favorite zombie baddie from the original PvZ? Mine Winter Melon for function, Sunflower for cuteness factor. MJ Zombie R.I.P.
The Completionist -Fume Shroom because it's the first plant that can kill more than one zombie at once. -Newspaper Zombie because her rage mode can catch you off guard sometimes. :)
@@agoblintrippingonhorrordus145 Using jalapenos is the objectively better way to deal with Zombonis. Or spikeweeds. Since Zombonis aren't impeded by any plants like wall nuts, simply having offensive plants is going to result in the death of plants. So using a jalapeno before it can do damage is one of the best options alongside having spikeweeds or spikerocks in the far right column. Jalapenos and spikeweeds are the intended way to handle them. This concludes my lecture, class is now dismissed
actually most explosive plants are the best way possible to deal with Zombonis,or up until that point,we had Cherry Bomb (while yeah sure it costed more, but it can deal with more than just 1 Zomboni or lane) or Squash, which charges up a bit faster making it more reliable
Fun fact: originally, they were going to call the game “Lawn of the Dead,” but decided not to out of fears of copyright. Yeah, the premise makes a lot more sense after knowing that.
I absolutely DESTROYED this game when I was like seven or something. I remember I went out on Halloween and everyone and their mother were giving away free codes for the game. I thought it was stupid because I had a whole bunch and people kept giving them to me when I wanted candy. I went home and my mom said “you should try it out, maybe it’s fun!” I did. And boy was it. Ip,aged that game everyday after school until I had to go to bed. It was the best. I finished the game and beat the zomboss so of course I moved on to the mini games. I finished all of those and then I moved on to growing the tree of life as much as I possible could. I heard of cheat engine but I was 7 and on a Mac so I couldn’t figure it out. What I did instead is I played the adventure again. I’m pretty sure I grew it to max because she kept saying the same thing (I don’t remember what it was) but that’s when my story stopped. By the time I finished the adventure mode again, I was eight almost nine. Point is, this game was amazing and had real potential until EA got it. I highly recommend this game so play it
that aint nothing after the last day of classes my school let us come to class but with laptops to play games and to use projectors and use the labs and their plugs to simulate gamenets everybody either played dota2 or counter strike in the labs everywhere else it was pvz
This was one of my favourite games back in the day I hated the direction they took with the series. I know the FPS spinoffs have been really successful but the original is the only one I'll touch
Yah I can see why people think this way, I mean it can be difficult to enjoy something once EA gets its Greedy Hands on it. And I personally (if you can’t tell by the profile picture) found it to be an amazing game. I always liked the Shooters that took a more cartoony kinda wacky style and gameplay different from the quick killing wall peaking of so many other shooters. The games aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but they sure made an impact on me.
The first Garden Warfare was surprisingly good; I used to play it a lot. The second Garden Warfare? Truly awful. Half the characters are copy-pasted from the opposing side (cough* kernel corn* cough) and there is absolutely no charm or game balance to be found anywhere. A lot of the variants are straight upgrades or downgrades, every update just adds a new paid card pack that contains content already in the game (and gimps you for it half the time anyway) and the soul and aesthetic of the game have been trashed. Have you seen Zomburbia? Dear god, Zomburbia... If you were to picture a Zombie civilisation from the aesthetic of the original zombies, you'd imagine a brown, dusty area with junk lying around for any zombie to pick up and take into battle. Not the disgusting purple and metal THING that is Zomburbia, with the random teeth and faces and glowy bits that serve no purpose. Oh, and the cosmetics have been changed into hideous abominations with unnecessary glowy bits and sound effects. The cosmetics are also artificially bolstered in number by having flashy reskins of all of them, which is just an ugly discoball-looking texture pasted over the original textures. This is the work of EA stamping out the soul and care that the original team put into the first Garden Warfare. PopCap is at death's door and didn't deserve it. I miss pre-EA PopCap.
@@TerraKnight27 footballer zombies appear starting on night levels. They would have a much harder time with a snow pea shooter or a double pea shooter since sunlight is a more limited resource in the night levels
ZelipeZX JavaScript and Java are two completely different languages with widely different syntax and features. Java is compiled while JavaScript is interpreted. So have a quick google and you'll see the difference.
I was more of a kongregate fan then popcap.. That was just me though, Dun remember if there was a PVZ on there/before it was bought out by Gamestop. D:
Came down here to post about them being unrelated, but looks like someone's bean a bit faster than me. Get it, bean? I'll show myself out, that was horrid.
Indeed. And I’m a little confused about what he actually ment. I guess the game in question was a Java applet? Or an early Android game written in Java? Which, by the way, is still used for Android development afaik..
I'm a year late but... 2:30 "To say Plants vs Zombies was my obsession would be an understatement. I was obsessed with this game!" *Something's fucky.*
I just redownloaded this game a few days ago and GOD LOOK HOW THEY BUTCHERED MY BOY! Mini games cost to play now unless you want to play for 5 years to get enough coins for one mini game.
M DCC I had the iOS version, I sat through and bought everything, not with real money, I grinded and eventually got everything. I completed everything in the game except for the lucky spin achievement. Then one day I go in the app and everything was reset, as if I’ve never played.
I love how the game slaps you with a new zombie right after giving you their plant counter It really makes you go "Huh they gave me this plant so maybe I need it to defeat this new kind of zombie!" And that happens all the time Potato Mine, first time Bucketheads appear Cactus, first time Baloon zombies appear Fume Shroom, first time screendoor zombies appear Split Pea, first time miner zombies appear
I think the almanac says the grave buster is a tree, If not, something in there does, otherwise my younger brother and I wouldn't have come to that conclusion 3 times over.
One of my favourite games. I think the second one made some improvements in gameplay but really screwed over w. microtransactions and pay to win plants.
I remember playing this when I was seven, I got caught at 2am on a school night. It was my fault though I yelled "Woohoo" really loudly after killing Dr.Zomboss.
I have all the comics, and they are pretty funny, not gonna lie. The first novel is basically about a young, lively, and somewhat lazy boy named Nate Timely who runs into a smart, responsible and energetic young girl named Patrice Blazing, just in time for them to find out that an evil genius named Dr. zomboss (remember, he's the final boss!) is planning to launch an all out zombie attack. It turns out crazy Dave is Patrice's uncle, and they use the plants and stuff to defeat the zombies.... It plays out as you expect. Every novel following that follows a similar plot, except Zomboss always is making a new plan to take over the neighborhood. I like these books personally, and other people must too, because they've been consistently coming out every few months.
I remember when I was little I made a PVZ Fan Book. Its pretty dumb though and dont have it. It pretty much the same story as the first game but its only the first 4 plants and it plays out like this. Protagonist: "Whats this?" Crazy Dave: *Explains what it is* Protagonist: Oh cool! I just took out the zombies. Rinse and repeat 3 more times
I adored this game as a kid and did every achievement without any of it feeling like a chore, the zen garden was WAY too much fun for little me, and the secret was changing the date on your pc to keep on getting more money, this is the only time I've done way more and way better than you in a game and I'm a little too proud
i still remember the first time i lost, i got truly scared of the sounds and the scream. like, the fuck, how can a game this cartoonish have a death so realistic
I actualy began to play the game to face my fear of zombies...it kinda worked...kinda. Me And My sister where so happy when we beated zomboss for the first time.
My fav plant is the... ...well, I can't pick one. They're all pretty great, from the many setups that use Garlic, to the good all-around Cabbage-pult, to the powerful Melon-pult, to the handy-dandy Grave Buster.
Jirards beard is slightly turning grey. His wisdom is showing in his beard... i for one, welcome the ancient Dragonrider "Master Completionist", i bow to thee, great Khalil.
I remember my boy Chomper being my absolute favorite plant throughout the entire series, (Even Garden Warfare 1 and 2), before being finally knocked down to second favorite when Cold Snapdragon was introduced. My favorite zombies from the original game was probably the Bobsled zombies, as I liked their design and how they worked together with the Zomboni to ruin your day.
Mr.Nigel117 isn’t there a way to turn off ads? Like buying something so you don’t get them? I don’t get ads on the game anymore so I don’t remember. EA is fucking trash, but i don’t get ads like... ever, maybe I spent a dollar blocking them or something Edit: I do get one ad for like... Sim City or some shit when I open the app, but it doesn’t play ads for me, so idk.
Wait... EA bought and killed Pop Cap? Huh... that explains all microtransaction crap that was thrown in PvZ2 not to mention it's only on mobile. Either way, I love PvZ and played the living hell out of it. I fully completed it by just playing on daily basis. I'm glad you decided to complete this game Jirard. :)
Naxer I completed all the levels of all the worlds, have over 200,000 coins and 150 gems years ago without spending anything!!! It is one of the only few mobile games where I did not see any need of mtx.
I heard that the game provides limited amount of gems. Not enough to get every plant. Also since it has microtransactions and is from EA then it's very likely that I would have to spend money on something in order to progress or have fun.
Honestly if i had 24 hours where i could do anything using anything and i would not have to follow any laws every single employee at EA would have a pop *_cap_* in their head
Naxer Pvz2 is in a very bad state right now, I think that's a glitch where gems don't drop anymore, but I didn't update the game since November so I don't know.
I fucking love that game. Also, I remembered the Michael Jackson bit, but I never knew of that small change. I prefer the Michael Jackson version, because that zombie is fucking hilarious.
a potato mine takes about three lanes columnwise for normal speed zombie walking to arm itself. so he atleast hadn't done something stupid. but still, in so much of his footage, he plants without ANY forethought about the possibilities of how it might change the lanes future tactics, and how to deal with the fallout if and (inevitably) when it fails. he has no planning! god oh wait! 17:23 A potato mine....a POTATO MINE. In FRONT of WALLNUT? in ZOMBOTANY?.... is he high?
PvZ Heroes is a really fun addition to the franchise! Although the core game play is much different being like a card game and all, it's still a tight game and makes PvZ into a strategic competition.
It's cool, but the balance could be better. Still, it's better than Overwatch for me. Both games have balance issues, but Heroes is at least addicting and charming enough to keep me interested. Also, it has much more content than Overwatch. Overall, a worthy 81/100 for me. (If you already couldn't tell by my profile pic, my favorite character is Solar Flare)
Ezra Understandable, but for some reason, I'm able to beat Solar Flares easy. Maybe it's because I've fought them so much, I KNOW their main strategies (and I play accordingly). It's Grass Knuckles (& Knuckles) that I always have trouble beating.
The Sunflower that was once known as SSB4 Replays Grass Knuckles is a primarily tempo hero. Aggro has trouble taking off under those wilting blows and walls of guardian plants. Your best bet is to try and play the control game, doing whatever you can to beat his buffed plants without trading too many brains or cards to do it. The most popular stratagies for GK are tempo, pecanolith and bullseye, so plan accordingly
Using Puff shrooms and imitators can be a good stalking plant early game, Sometimes with bad rng, you have to sacrifice your lawnmowers for the early zombies but after waking up enough sun shrooms you'd be as good as that
Meta I know I got every achievement on it in a few weeks with the free month Xbox gold promotion. Despite getting every achievement I kept play because it was so fun.
I believe the same for any language really. I don't trust non-unit tested code :D unless it's glue code. Glue code is cool. Unit testing ES6+ code is fun... Especially ones that rely on imported pieces and mocking them. But it's all fun and games and Jest.
I mean, he comepleted this version, which I’ll congratulate you for that, but some of the other versions have overall more stuff, DS has a few more mini games, iOS has a handful more of puzzles, (and a unique mini game) x-box has more stuff, it’s a shame EA took over, otherwise I’d love to see you complete the others (technically getting 200% or something) but yeah, it does get to be a bit of a grind, (I know, I’ve beaten every single one) but if you just goof off on it like what I do it’s fun for a long, long, time. (Except for iOS, it was really boring)
When first playing this I realized that I might have a lot more OCD than I previously thought. I find my self making all plants in perfect rows or a symmetrical pattern, I find myself picking up every coin and sun produced (which is why watching you not pick up coins became somehow infuriating). Ah what a great game and to think one person made this incredible iconic soundtrack
"Pvz is an engaging yet casual lay back experience" Garden Warfare: allow me to introduce myself So battle for neighborville just came out, and it gas no micro transactions, loot boxes and it's actually well done and actually is taking feedback from players... I approve
Honestly, bfn is probably the best thing to come out of EA in a while. No loot boxes, unless you count the reward o tron, and a fortnite-inspired shop system. Also, a battle pass that isn’t aids. EA really hit it out of the park with this one. Just kinda wish there were founder benefits.
When I was younger, my dad and I had fully grown the tree of wisdom, bought out every thing in the store, and got every achievement. Both of us were casual gamers but we both also had a ton of free time.
My favorite moments of this video 20:08 sounds fine you say? well you shut your mouth, you shut your damn mouth! 21:36 I just don't know if I can.... *music starts playing*...... ohhh yeaahhhh
I almost completed PvZ2 but my data got corrupted and I lost everything and I was too distraught to do it all again... especially Big Wave Beach, I hate that world...
PvZ2 is really fun, but the Micro transactions are really expensive, the price should lower by 80%! PvZ GW1 And GW2 Are actually really fun and isn’t heavy on the micro transactions.
Space swag Most of the OP* plants are premium. Seriously, you have the choice between over a hundred plants, and the “Super shiny and super cool and super powerful please buy us plants” are the ones you want to play. I get the feeling, but it’s a common selling strategy. Plus, you can play them regularly, may it be during weekly events, or simply through the travel log. Plus, if it’s for the nostalgia, you have Chomper, Torchwood and Starfruit. In the game, none of them is worth playing (Chomper sucks, Torchwood got nerfed and Starfruit isn’t that good)
So much fun, this game.I remember being legitimately surprised during those dark levels where you only get to see what you're doing for the short second that lightning flashes. It's actually pretty stressful! As for the zen garden, I agree that it sucks. It would've been WAY better had it not been locked to a real-time system! I don't even particularly like gardening in Animal Crossing. I just enact the Beautiful Town ordnance so I don't need to deal with watering all my flowers or pulling as many weeds every day!
I remember when I used to play this game. I found out the game from my mom. My favorite memory of this game is when my mom thought sunflowers were defenses until I told her that they give sun, my mom responded with,"oh that's why they're so weak!" it was pretty funny.
I'm much more mixed on the game than other games in the series. If I were to give it a review score (Q2 2017 version, since that's when I beat it), I would give it a 63/100. Great gameplay, great music (though I heard it was changed later on...), and great gimmicks, but sometimes, the level design is way too harsh and may require a highly specific strategy in order to beat ONE of the 30 levels in each world on average (Incidentally, there's exactly 300 levels in the entire game with 10 worlds). Not to mention locking out new plants with microtransactions, while completely optional, is pretty stupid and I would not recommend doing it unless there's a sale to make it cheaper (as the wiki states upon double checking actually). Overall, the harder levels for a sequel reminds me heavily of SMB: The Lost Levels, and while PvZ2 is HEAVILY flawed, I do not hate it, but I don't like it either. So there you go with my review.
The new battles mode they added to pvz2 is clearly unfair, the only way you'll have fun there is with leveled up plants. Which means you'll need o pay real money and that's horse shit. EA ruined the plants vs zombies franchise.
I do enjoy the game, but the micro transactions are blatant cash grabs, and with battlefront 2 piñatas. GW2 was fine for me, as it didn't have locked content besides a few characters, and the sticker packets weren't to hard to obtain after 2 - 3 games. EA needs to care about other people's money.
Really? You're that impatient with Vase Breaker? It's about patience and breaking one at a time until that zombie is dead. ...Until you hit the buckethead first, at least. But I see you click on 6 at a time and that's not a good idea.
One strategy that works really well is to break vases one at a time with all zombies overlapping so that they can all be destroyed by one squash. Yah but I guess when you basically have to complete a game every week, time isn’t of great excess
Fact: Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 does have micro transactions, but those micro transactions are cosmetic and the abilities it unlocks can be earned by work as well those abilities are balanced with the Base game items
raymundo salinas pvz heroes isn’t really that bad. You can get any of the cards with a bit of work, it’s actually pretty balanced between both the plants and zombies, and there’s lots of fun strategies and variety while still staying well balanced.
the mass effect IMP is one of the weakest imp classes, he doesn't has any unique or special powers, he does very little damage and his dps is lacking, the only time he excels compared to the regular imps that you don't have to pay for is longer ranges, even then it matters very little because that goes completely against the imps playstyle - some dude with 300+ hours in pvzgw 1 and 2
I remember when I was 9, and I'd beat this game daily because I loved it so much. I got almost every achievement. I had over 1,000,000 coins, and I memorized every single detail in the entire game.
Yah PvZ 2 had a lot yet seemed to lack so much. Sure there were a lot more levels and plants but the game lacked things like many different mini games that shook up gameplay. PvZ 2 also didn’t appeal to the casual market as much due to the increase in difficulty and things like plants locked behind a paywall. The game was released with a few worlds with more added over a long period of time causing many to forget the game. This made it so many likely didn’t even get the ending (which felt underwhelming unless the super hard levels added afterwards had a true ending) and much of the things added latter felt like too little too late with only the most dedicated of fans still playing.
I completed all the levels of all the worlds, have over 200,000 coins and 150 gems years ago without spending anything!!! It is one of the only few mobile games where I did not see any need of mtx.
Peasant Lemon I was playing since when there were only 3 chapters, when there was no gems, no zen garden etc. In 2014, It was one of fav mobile games. I played all levels as they were released in updates. Most levels were easy but every world has that one bullshit flower level. There were times when premium plants were purchasable through gems or as rewards for quest so I got many of them. Only levels which pissed me off was beach level, there I spent like 50,000 coins alone. I had to see a guide for those. I may have played the game for 200 hours over the 3 years but I enjoyed without spending anything. When there over 60 plants some are bound to become useless.
My favorite plant is the three peater and the best zombie is the bungee zombie because they both are so op in multiplayer But the hypno shroom is also cool and also the trash can zombie is really not known
omg Jirard I honestly have to thank you for this. I was having a really rough day and as soon as you mentioned Insaniquarium I got SO happy. That game has been at the back of my mind forever and I never remembered what it was called. I remember someone said something about Feeding Frenzy and I was like 'ok wait maybe this is it? Yeah this has to be it' but it didn't feel right. As soon as you brought it up and I saw those pregnant guppies I KNEW and had to spend the $5 on steam so legit thank you
