In this episode, Albert Howell Tang of Bert's Begonias Atbp brings us on a secret garden tour in this new episode. Filled with new plants as well as plants he's amassed over 10 years, Albert deliberately created this outdoor garden, thoughtfully curating this private oasis in the middle of a concrete jungle.
In fact, Albert was given a pleasant surprise when in 2023, Mr. Tan Jiew Hoe, Board Director of Gardens by the Bay Singapore, visited his garden. This is THE Tan Jiew Hoe whom Dracaena JT Stardust, Begonia jiewhoei, and Syzygium jiewhoei are named after. His presence was a deserving honor for a deserving garden.
Albert began collecting plants at the tender age of 12 and the collection he has amassed over 10 years includes over 200 species and varieties of Begonias, cycads (including several hybrids of the World's Loneliest Tree--Encephalartos woodii), Euphorbias, Pachypodias, and Haworthias.
