Sadly it only happened like three times in Anime Campaign. EE Giovanni’s gimmick isn’t a luck based 1/20 chance, so he gets it a lot more often

Actually Epithet Erased is just an animated version of Anime campaign from way back when. The setting's not entirely new. It's literally the same characters and a few similar storylines. In anime campaign, for instance, the first session was apparently a tournament hosted by Mera, where a number of competitors faced off, including Sylvie, Giovanni, and Molly (who ended up signed up by mistake), before Mera reveals that the whole tournament was actually a plot to steal epithets using a magic necklace called the Gemini necklace (now the Arsene Amulet). Likewise, the second session was about a band of cops that included Percy and the Sherriff Gorou (who was a lot more competent though just as much of a cinnamon roll) trying to break up a turf war between Bonzai Blasters and Bliss Ocean. There was a point where Zora showed up and was meant to be a difficult boss fight, but the players basically cheesed the fight. The storylines aren't identical, but they're fairly similar

Yo I basically went through the same thing! Ran my first one shot using the system a bit ago with 3 brothers I was friends with. Oldest guy got Queen, middle dude got Brass, and the 12 year old we let play got Hellfire because RNG loves to mess with people. They went on an adventure to get an artifact which gives Epithets deep inside a pyramid, fighting a group of rival researchers led by an old guy who vowed vengeance on the old guy leading the players for taking the last piece of pie on pie day back in high school, and a baby with the word Mature. He ended up using the tablet which gave wild magic rolls that the user could choose who effects after rolling. He ended up getting the one that makes you a bishonen romance character and transformed into a pretty boy teenager, which allowed the players to beat him up. Other highlights include a dude with the world Servant controlling Hellfire kid to attack the others, resulting in said kid's firs two nat 20s attacking each of them. A dude with the word Playground being blessed with the power to roll around at the speed of sound being knocked off the pyramid from the top of it, rolling back up and being knocked off again, and the baby somehow rolling the random effect to get Barrier twice.

I think all the epithets have the potential to be OP if you stretch it enough and the characters are powerful enough in their epithet usage. Like sure bluster is useless in the hands of some incompetent sheriff but you could argue that bluster should be able to summon tornadoes.

This is edgy villain. He’s “evil” here. This is after failed goofy villain and before goofy “anti-hero” (that’s really just a normal hero, but he thinks he’s an anti-hero because that’s cooler). To give perspective on Giovanni here, he was going by [VINCENT MURDER]. Not an anti-hero. Just a goofy bad guy trying to be cooler than he really was.

I think it was a bad move because people like you (and me right before it was removed) would be the only people to spend hours of our lives on Anime Campaign, and I’m not disappointed that Epithet Erased has been “spoiled” for me, but whatever. Ziril yeah, Roob rolled like 2 or 3 13s the entirety of Anime Campaign. I don’t quite remember how much more damage a Giovanni critical 13 did than just rolling a natural 20 crit. From a storytelling perspective, Roob’s few 13s were extremely important though. They basically ended combat just because of how rare they were, so Jello wanted to reward her for them. Given Giovanni and Giovanni’s equivalent movesets though, I find it hard to believe that either would win before AC Gio would hit that 1/20 chance, basically kick EE Gio into next week, simply due to the fact that soup types should be resistant to other soup types. I think many rounds would insue, then nat 13 win from [VINCENT MURDER].
