Lots of uses for that screen! I like the one where you put it in the filter it must hold the foam filter pads in place so much better
@DanielKeepingFish
@DanielKeepingFish Год назад
For sure mate. Plus it's easy to cut into any size for any filter. Love this stuff.

Wow you've found some great use for this mesh! You just need some pillows on the hammock and it'll be too comfortable to swim off whenever you come to the glass haha! Especially love the moss idea! Saves a lot of money compared to stainless steal mesh. Great work Daniel! Learnt lots mate! Keep it up! 👍

Brilliant ideas. Like the betta hammock idea as those zoo med logs are about a tenner each if not more. Could get a fair few made from a sheet of mesh. The moss idea is great, would never have thought of doing it that way. Cheers Daniel 😊
@DanielKeepingFish
@DanielKeepingFish Год назад
Cheaper but not as pretty maybe. I guess beauty comes at a price when we're talking Betta hammocks haha.. Thanks Alison. Just wee ideas really but hopefully gives folk a place to start and develop them further.
@alisonnicholson
@alisonnicholson Год назад
@@DanielKeepingFish yea but you could stick Christmas or java moss on the mesh for a natural looking hammock. Like the divider idea too. With costs rising I'd rather pay a couple of quid than have to spend 30 quid on zoo med. With mesh and a tub of tropica moss I'm saving a packet
@DanielKeepingFish
@DanielKeepingFish Год назад
@@alisonnicholson for sure. That's one of the things I love about our hobby; we can pay heavy prices for great results or explore more reasonable approaches. Both are viable albeit not as instant in terms of results.

Hi Daniel. How are you Sir? That is a neat Betta Hammock. You could rap some Moss around it to blend it in to the Vegetation so that it looks more Eu-natural. 👍 You could even use PVC Pipe. The Moss Background will look amazing when it is all grown in. 👍 I have contemplated on doing that, however I have never setup an Aquarium with small enough fish suitable for a Moss Background. Your video has now been given the 6th Like. Thankyou very much for sharing. Take care kind Sir. 👍🙂❤️
@DanielKeepingFish
@DanielKeepingFish Год назад
Thanks Luca. I did think about wrapping it in moss, unfortunately I didn't have enough to make it look good. More of a trimmer than a letting it get bushy guy. Maybe do that further down the road. Love the PVC pipe idea, I never considered that. Thanks for sharing the idea. Hope you are doing good and all is well with you bud.

@@DanielKeepingFish It is my pleasure buddy. I already gathered that you had thought about that and that you never had enough Moss, however it is as you said, you could do that at a later time or in another video so that it gives you more content. It is a pleasure to share that idea with you buddy. Indeed I am thankyou. 👍🙂❤

Dear Daniel: I like to keep my scapes looking as natural as possible, so adding white plastic is the opposite of what I would do. I keep a “Betta Bed” in her tank. It is made of plastic, but, at least, it looks like a leaf and the suction cup is clear. This produce would be very useful in the culturing of grindle worms and as a divider for media in a filter. It would also come in handy, for isolating aggressive fish or even introducing a male to a female betta. Thank you for sharing your use of this, fine product. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
@DanielKeepingFish
@DanielKeepingFish Год назад
Well the idea with the moss wall is that the moss engulfs the plastic eventually so we won't see it. That's the theory anyway haha.. I was considering doing the same thing with the Betta hammock but then it would make it rather tricky to clean. Yeah a clear suction cup would have been better, you're right bud.
@TarasTankFriends
@TarasTankFriends Год назад
These are all brilliant ideas! I think I will try the one to keep the filter material in place first as I tend to have the issue with that stuff folding over as well. Maybe additional ideas are a hang on separation box for fish (like a breeding net, but bigger), and possibly shrimp hides? Idk, you've got my wheels turning now! Excellent video and much appreciated, Daniel! 🙂👍

Really? I got mine from ebay originally, might be worth checking on there. I also find Facebook groups a handy way of finding fish keepers locally who are willing to share. There are dedicated live food culture groups, might be able to get a lead there. I'd offer to send you a starter but I don't think they'd make the journey particularly this time of year.
