2022 has brought us the trend of reverse BBLs (Brazilian butt lifts). Khloe Kardashian and Kim Kardashian, two of the world's 'big booty' icons, have recently reduced their butts significantly.
In this video, board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Gary Motykie, reacts to the reverse BBL trend and explains how patients can reduce the size of their augmented butts if desired.

They look like they're shoplifting throw pillows Maybe Kim's doctor told her, "look idiot, you're in your 40s and you're losing Collagen so that massive ass is gonna be bungy jumping off the back of your thighs in another 5 years". So they had it removed. Or perhaps they realized how stupid they look.

As an old 58 year old lady, I have lived through ALOT of body shape “fashions”. From hourglass to androgynous to waif-thin to heroine-chic to huge boobs to boyish flat chest to ridiculously huge bubble butt (I also include stupid rubber duck lips in here too). I predicted the huge arse trend would quickly morph into something else - (probably to the complete opposite in the way fashion goes). I can’t believe people would not have the intelligence to look at body fashion trends and predict the same bleedingly (haha) obvious conclusion before subjecting their body to an extreme procedure like BBL in order to look like a ridiculous caricature which will look even more ridiculous in 5-10 years time when body fashions have changed. 🤦‍♀️And no, I am not anti plastic surgery. I am actually contemplating some facial procedures (not lips, not cat eyes lol- more the “look-like-me-but-younger” type of procedure). Ergh

Wow! Never thought about that, but it makes perfect sense. I had liposuction about 5 years ago in my waist, abdomen and shank areas. Later I gained 30 lbs, and it all went to my butt because that's where most of my fat was. My butt got so big people would ask if I had a BBL. I have since lost that weight plus an additional 10, and guess what? My butt was the first go. I've always carried my weight in my butt and thighs, but because the liposuction removed fat from the only other areas I had it, the fat increased where it was. I have mixed feelings about removing fat. As long as you don't gain weight you are good but if you do watch out. You may not be happy with what you've left with.

What people don’t talk about is how BBLs are not permanent. My friend got a BBL 3 years ago, she flew out to Turkey to get it with no research beforehand 🙄 She lost some weight during lockdown and boom her booty was gone! Now she is left with noticeable odd looking scars and the same body she started with. These celebrities with BBL’s have multiple BBL’s to maintain their body, which means more money, scarring and risk. BBL’s are the most fatal procedures in the plastic surgery world with many deaths, infections and life long deformities compared to other procedures.

I’m glad you posted this because I didn’t really know the results could disappear. I never really thought of it because logically it makes sense. We gain and lose weight all the time as people. It actually depends on your surgeon and your maintenance after the BBL. I got a fairly conservative BBL done in 2018. I lost 30 pounds durning the pandemic and my butt looks perkier than ever; however, I have worked out, consistently, since the surgery. I lost almost NONE of my fat transfer, but I am probably in the minority. My surgeon was very careful not to overfill and I followed post-op instructions to the letter.

I'm Brazilian and the butt culture is very strong here, women have this pressure to have a big and perfect butt and they're always trying to have a big butt, by BBL, going to the gym, or both. Having a BBL, unfortunately, is a dream to most of the women here, some do BBLs in their 16s to 18s, for example, it's a very normalized surgery here like putting breast implants or doing a nose job, there's even a miss bumbum contest here which stands for miss butt in Portuguese. I've always had a big butt but I've always hated and suffered from this, as a child I suffered sexual abuse and harassment from older men at the age of 10 for example and it would get worse as I would grow, in my teenage years I would be sexualized even without knowing it what was going on, so I grew up to hate my body and the butts obviously since I believed it was their fault the horrible things I've gone trough so all I wanted was to be skinny since I dreamed to be a model, and had a dance teacher who would point the skinniest girl in the class and tell that the other girls should look like her, and would tell me to lose weigh, there was when I understand why I would always be in the final lines in presentations, because I was bigger, so slowly I've developed eating disorders and body dismorphia, I would fast for 3 days or eat 10-150kcal per day maximum, when I would go to the mall to buy clothes it would be a torture to try for clothes in front of the mirror and because I have thic thighs and big butt I would never wear the same size as my girlfriends 36/S/M and I would have to use 40 or L, the sizes that TV used to say was made for fat woman plus I couldn't get my bottom parts in the area the clothes for girls my age used to be I needed to buy then from the adult women part, I would see myself like a big monster, never delicate or feminine, or something more than my appearence, all people have to say till this day is about my appearence, and that would enfuriate me eventually, often people would treat me like I were older than I actually was because of my body, specially man catcalling me. At that time I would never imagine years later people would go crazy about a BBL, on the other side this trend but mostly the body positive movement, put women with bodies like mine, curvier and fat on display, so when I go buy clothes now I can see someone that looks like me and uses the same size as me and I see it's okay, it's natural to have a body like this too, it's just a body type like all the others, and they still amazing no matter their weight, I stopped to worry about what size of clothes I'm wearing, and let go the fear of being seen as fat for having a bit of meat and that helped me to feel beautiful and feminine too, I started to learn how to accept my body witch is working in slow progress, till this day I'm very self-conscious about my butt, I'm never confortable using shorts or tight clothes, especially around men, because I'm afraid they'll be staring at my butt when I turn my back and I wouldn't even see so I could try to hide myself in some way and avoid any looks or try to "protect me", I never use or take pictures wearing a bathing suit. People are never satisfied and tend to want what they don't have, we need to accept ourselves and learn to love our bodies because they carry us around, they're the homes of our souls, and having the trend body doesn't always is a guarantee of happiness it doesn't mean prettiest, the prettiest thing you could do for yourself is to take care of your physical and mental health in the first place because we tend to look more to the outside, but the inside is the most important, being healthy will help you to seek your dreams and your passions, and having your mind healthy will give you peace, will give you the clarity to see that there's no need to try to look or be like someone else when being you are the better you can be to yourself if you're not happy about something in your body or your life do it for you not to please others in any way, search, research, think 1,2,3,4,5 or 10 times if necessary before considering something intrusive and big as plastic surgery. Peace! Note: I apologize for any mistakes, I hope it's well comprehensible for you, the structure of the comments can get weird.😶

I eat great and am very active, even though I am at stage 4 cancer. There just is no excuse for extreme plastic surgery. Women will say "No, it's because I want to feel/look better". Sorry, but you're all liars. You do it to hold on to youth and men. Point. Blank. Period. Behind your backs, most men laugh at women who go to the extreme butt, breasts and lips. You all look like cartoon characters. And the funny thing is, it's not men bullying women about their looks, it's other women doing the bullying. I've seen and heard it all. I m not against surgery to improve and look your best if something is really bothering you ( I had an upper eye lid correction 16 years ago.) But to undergo major surgery to follow a trend, which will eventually go out of style, to me is extreme. I got a “mommy make over” a little over a year ago. Well actually it was boobs then tummy a year later because I had my 12 yo breast implants removed and got a lift and then waited a year to do the rest. Initially I was going to do lipo to back/ flanks, TT & BBL and then I called and dropped the BBL because I’m quite active and didn’t want to be forced to lay on my abdomen and also because I was SO nervous that something could heal weird and I could end up with lumps of divots in my bum. Anyhow, I’m glad I skipped the BBL. For me the lipo to my lower back was enough to make my bum look a bit rounder and I’m an athletic build so my butt was never flat or saggy and after 3 kiddos it’s the same. Also, just with having a small waist compared to my lower body, many clothing brands are loose in the waist. If my butt was bigger I’d have to go up another size and then my pants wouldn’t fit my waist at all. Certainly has its disadvantages, imho and is not something anyone should do without considerable thought.

I might look like an ignorant ass but just hold on, I'm african (from the north). It's about having a good overall shape, regardless of what you exactly have (big butt or not). There's another point to take into consideration: your ethnic group. I assume from your picture that you're black, so what you're describing fits the "black" type people have in their mind, so it won't look "weird". I have a friend from Senegal (I'm Moroccan) and she's thin like a 90s/2000's model (Kate Moss type). She would love to be fuller but can't due to many factors. Now, if we were talking about an east asian ethnic person, I wouldn't personally expect her to have a shape like yours, maybe slim thik ? Absolutely but a big round butt? Not really, I'd assume she's either an "exception" or she might have exercised that area reaaaaally well (or did a bbl eventually). As I live in Africa, there's no such thing as the tyranny of only one body type... in Morocco people like different body types so you'll find each person loving something (eventhough the trend has always been the bodies like yours, regardless of us being black or mediterranean looking).

@valbailey5983 Год назад
@@stop_and_smell_the_roses I said fat em/bo/lism! An embolism is an obstruction of an artery. It can be a blood clot or even an air bubble. In this case it's fat. When a BBL is performed, fat is injection into the area that has a large artery that runs up both legs to the buttock to the lungs and then to the heart. It hard for the doctor to know actually where that artery is located during the fat injection, and could mistakenly injection fat into the artery creating an embolism. That embolism will reach the lungs and will probably kill the patient. Hence, this is the most deadliest cosmetic surgery.

@@777violett I was wondering doesn’t liposuction create dents, lumps and bumps? My friend had it and now her skin looks textured and dimpled. Is that typical? Or maybe just her doctor? Did u notice a difference in your skin’s appearance?

@@JuliaShalomJordan It’s depending on the doctor. Some doctors don’t like to take out as much fat because it can create those dents. My doctor always gives her patients very natural results so people don’t even know I had surgery. I have 0 dents or abnormalities from my surgery and I’m happy with the results. I’ve definitely seen pictures of people or have seen people at the beach with aggressive lipo and it doesn’t look good. What’s also important from recovering from lipo is massages, if you don’t get lymphatic massages like suggested that can create abnormalities as well because you have to drain your lymphatic system, otherwise it can create horrible scar tissue underneath the skin.

@@777violett thanks for sharing. I haven't heard this before. Now that you've healed and the nerves have reattached, how does it feel compared to before? Can you notice a difference?

Quite frankly ( I'm a bottom heavy plus size woman) I been interested in getting a butt reduction surgery since the mid 00s.

Lose weight. You don’t need a bum reduction, you need to eat less calories.

I've always found a big butt a big pain. I need one size for butt and hips and a smaller size for waist.

I've always been glad for my slim figure. I love the aesthetic of pilates/yoga girls. The bbl body's look so exaggerated and weird!
