When creating stuff like this, is it more realistic to texture the bumps etc or would you still model all the bumps seeing as you can easily in Plasticity?

In my opinion. I think if you model all these roughness, plasticity would break. It is too much for the software. So i would rather do it by texture. Much faster and less trouble. I have tried making intricate details and it slows down the software a lot.

I would definitely do the bumps in other software more specialized in texturing. If i would do it in plasticity i think it would take me looong time to make the details of the roughness

Cheers you two. I mean stuff like the details here. Not the wood texture etc. Like for example the lines around the eyes. Would you model them if had a choice or use texture maps instead? Or create a model without those details, then one with and use that as a high bake

Ah! i think now i understand you. Well it depends for what you use the model for. The goal of the tutorial is to make the most details in plasticity. But if you need the model for a game engine that will be in the background, then i would texture everything. Leave only the horns and the heart shape in low poly. If you need it for animation close up. Then i would sculpt it and bake. For an in between, i guess i would make a medium polycount and use bump textures for the details. I hope it helps the answer, basically depends what you need it for

@@alchemistik_laboratory Thank you! It does. I'm currently modeling a Gameboy Color in Plasticity and unsure if I was to model in the text or just add a texture map for the text bumps and logos. I may have to bake and see how it looks
