The Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Platinum struggle is real. Using a non-meta deck and being a smooth brain at the same time only increases the difficulty, so I don't blame meta players for taking the easy way out. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the memes.

I was told Plat I was full of meme/casual decks. It's been 90% try hards, same as always. And it went from about 6-9 hand traps to decks running 10-13 hand traps. It's pure hell

Meanwhile I climed from 5 to 3 in a few hours with a *destiny board* deck because most people who lost the coin toss instantly surrendered without even checking what I'm playing, or synchrod 20 times but had nothing for Dark Sanctuary or Battle Fader. Platinum really is luck.

From my experience in platinum, every opponent start with 3 Maxx C, 3 Ash and 2 Called by the Grave in their hand.

Bruh, I know that feel. Even in Gold there is a 100% chance my opponent is running 4 Ash Blossoms and 3 of them are in deck slots [6][7][8] just so if I survive they can do it to me again next turn.

Modern Yu-gi-oh is a clusterfuck of pure hell. Floodgates, Omni-Negates, and genuinely degenerate filthy tactics. If you go turn 1 you need to set up a massive board with tons of negates. If you go turn 2 you're pretty much fucked unless the opponent somehow, on the very rare occausion, doesn't set up a huge board. You have to pray you get some way to get through that board or else you might as well surrender. That's just how Modern Yu-gi-oh is now. Its too broken to fix lol

I’ve got a heavily modded eldlich deck and I. Can’t seem to hit 3, as soon as I’m close I get dropped back to 5 and part of my wins is a 13 card extra deck which makes a certain cheese deck scoop on turn one.

Typically Exodia is about the only one who should play through Maxx "C" if it's still turn 1. I tried it once (not turn 1) because I had no choice, 100% chance of loss next turn if I didn't. Got Nibiru'd anyways.

That Eldlich is zombie world variant, more versatile and a lot more options than just relying on pure traps and floodgates, but I certainly didn't expect the sphere, since most of em use lava golem or kaiju

Yup zombie world +eldlich is a good deck against pure eldlich but that deck cost soooooo much it has more UR than the eldlich deck also its not consistent against other lineup but I'll rate it 8/10.

@@jetherarroz1118 I agree,it's extremely costly including the staples, since both boss cards like eldlich himself,doomking,and the madlord is UR,and one of the reason if it's kinda bricked is when the eldlich engine is all what u draw without the zombie world engine itself,which is not rly a great start. Which is why some ppl opt to try more pure zombie deck,and other can try for other mix zombie deck like with mayakashi/shiranui. But overall,imo it's still a pretty solid deck in MD

That variant is basically build against pure Eldlich. But against other, you brick quite often. Cuz compared to Eldlich other meta decks are more fast paced.

I personally play an Eldlich Zombie world Varient, particularly because Too many Eldlich decks try to rely on Solo Eldlich and trap support, including the cancerous combo of IO and Skill Drain, both of which I refuse to play out of principle.

@@lennardkoh2346 Not really, like yes it still can be bricked like other deck, but not as often as u think,depend on how u build the ZW-eld deck, u can minimized the possibility of bricking,even pure eld can be bricked too when u got unfortunate with drawing floodgates+traps without the eld himself or the eld engine to summon him or vice-versa,forcing u to stall until u can get eld/the needed floodgates and hope opponent won't kill u fast enough. The reasons ppl prefer playing pure eld is because it can be budget friendly,and how super easy to ooga booga when played against other meta decks,ecspesially if u top deck all needed floodgates to stop their tracks compared to the mixed build.

That version of Eldlitch is one that's been popping up more often. On the one hand it doesn't run skill drain or Imperial order. On the other hand it has more versatility with it's plays.

Whatever you're feeling, this should cheer you up. I'm trapped in Platinum so I started running a self-TK deck called "Self-TK Fuck the Tiering System" because I wanted to at least be able to do *SOMETHING.* I just got matched with a Plat 1 player running Necro Tempest. ...But because my deck runs like 30 Spells/Traps and I have so few options for self-TK strategies I wasn't able to off myself turn 1, and proceeded to have over 3 times as many cards in my deck when he banished everything! So I was guaranteed to win even if I *hadn't* summoned a Berserker of the Tenyi complete with I:P Masquerena protection from things like Raigeki, Lightening Storm, etc. So however bad you might be feeling, just remember that you didn't lose to a self-TK deck.

Eldlich is very frustrating. Their core cards are pretty dang good on their own, but with how the deck functions it works extremely well with floodgates with no downsides. Skill Drain, Imperial Order, Gozen Match, Rivalry of Warlords, and a host of other traps that have no downside to Eldlich players makes it such a sweaty deck. It's like Drytron/Herald. Its so easy to pull out the Disco Ball Angel and fill your hand with fairies and hand traps with how the deck functions, the only way you're getting through is if they make a mistake or you get really lucky with your starting hand and draw. I swear of they could Drytron/Herald players would put in cards that make you unable to draw, or hell, unable to do anything if they had any say in the matter

@@lennardkoh2346 I agree with Trib & Eldlich being a good deck for newbies, but i don't think Drytron is a good newbie deck. It has long combo & steep learning curve once you know how to do the normal Herald combo. Trib and Eldlich have a better learning curve because their deck are simple & consistent, which means you'll be focusing less on doing your combos right, more on playing around your opponent's deck.

Yeah Plat is a hellish landscape f*ckin cancer everywhere, so much so the only consistent success I had there was with another cancer deck, Phantasmal Spiral; yep that's where all my fun decks go to die.

I am a Platinum 1 Player with non meta but still strong Heros and I really have to say Platinum is hell. It‘s often so annoying and nerves consuming. I was playing on my girlfriends account today - just with some harpies starting from Silver 5 (she likes harpies). Editing her deck all the time until I got Gold 2, then I quitted so she doesn’t have to play Plat as a newbie. It was so much fun somehow not having to deal with nibiru or maxx c all the time. Yu Gi Oh could be so much more fun tbh.

Yes plat tier is a hell. Not only your lost reward, your have to compete with player that have complete tournaments deck. That why some player don chose go further to go plat 5 once reach gold 1, and which way some play gimmicks deck in gold tier, that guarantee lose.

I feel your pain. I manage ti get to plat 3 with my none meta deck only to brick or god handed back to plat5. Idk if its just me but most asain people i play only play meta or cancer.

The main problem is that in plat the concept of fun and mostly uniqueness is lost. Almost everyone uses the same deck, few exeptions of course. I can understand that people wanna win, but in my oppinion, its not a true win with a deck that is uses by millions of people. The current issue is that in MD the uniqueness is missing from many decks. Think of it, everyone knows what a tribrigade or an eldlich is made and capebal of, but does anyone does the same with a myutant or a sacred beast deck? I dont think so, and people never will, they wont even know of those deck and archatypes because they just wanna win, and only win. A sad story indeed.

At least people in plat knows that pure eldlich with only skill drain and IO/ other floodgates can be easily f*ked, you will see more of a mix eldlich (even met a VW eldlich and striker eldlich which is very engaging to duel with) which also rarely play IO at least from all my ranked in plat

Pure eldlich slaps, as long as you don't play dumb staples, cause they cause brick. But i don't want to play only cause the deck wins but because I like it. But since I keep getting denied from play with my ciphers i mixed it with eldlich so eldlich can keep them busy while I set up to actually play the cipher deck iI want to play 😭🥱

Eldlich is good but not that much in higher ranks. I got plat 1 with Crusadia OTK and I can assure u, i crushed alot of eldlich with S/T removal

Only thing I struggled with my climb in plat is the D/D Dynamite hackers who have the cards in there opening hand and the D/D dynamite players who just fetch the combo out. I've "fought" the deck so many countless times now and been forced back to plat 4 because of them I've started running red reboot and going 9 cards in extra deck. :/
