Filipino and music. They love the 70s and 80. Young Filipino children know it because their parents listen and sing it all the time. This is why Tyson is like this. I know his mother would even sing him motown songs to put him to sleep. I know this because I did that. My child is 21 yrs old and the choice of music is 70 and 80. That's era is the real music, best ever!
In the intro piece before he sang they talked about how he had 'Speech Delay' and still wasn't talking at age 3. They used his love of music to get him over it. His mother also covered more of his attendance at Lionel Richie's concert, saying it was one of his biggest concerts growing up and that "I remember that moment where he looked up at me and said: 'This is what I want to do!' I want to do that, I want to make people happy!"
A professional performance deserves a professional reaction. 👏 That was on point. Not like other reactors reacting like some teenager when they see their favorite boy band.
This was absolutely amazing. He’s so talented and the fact that he’s only 17 years old is insane. Now you said something about his song choice and I can see where you’re coming from. He actually performed this song, blindfolded, on The Voice Teens Phillipines 3 years ago. Regardless, he’s amazing, and deserved the Platinum Ticket. He’s probably the odds on favorite to win American Idol.

there's a lot of great singers out there...But only some can tell stories thru music, and that's him...He's amazing, considering playing the piano, and only at 17 years of age😊
I agree about him only 17 years old , he is a not seasoned artist ….yet.He has great control of his voice, I’m jealous .. but it’s awesome at his age he can do it in some ways, technically he is excellent. I love Billy Joel songs, played his music on keyboard since I was a kid but not as fancy lol. There is a history and meaning to his songs and for another performer to sing his songs ,you need to find the meaning of the song to you like in character acting , so it means something to you. I took a performance singing class back in the 90s , never sang solo in front of strangers before and that class helped me bring the songs to life.
He just got eliminated and that is so unacceptable. Too many country stars go thru and people with amazing talent get discarded. I'm done with this show😔
Yeah, when someone is new to us, we sort of assume they're a 'newly discovered' artist... it doesn't take anything away for me of how brilliant he is though
I seems the last few years that these type of shows are recruiting artists based off other competitions or social media popularity.....I much preferred it when they were finding people off the street but doing it this way does raise the bar for all the contestants to beat.
