The hole on the weapons are for the mighty strike freedom cause in the movie before it turns into the mighty it is the type 2 with the dragoons and in the battle it has its 2 beam weapons and 2 additional railguns that’s why the extra hole is there
@@tomvhresvelg9286 all I did was paint the sword handle white the joints red and the vfin well silver metal cause it made it pop more than white and add in the rail gun and boom u have the hg destiny spec 2 before they actually released the official spec 2
Speaking of the HG UC Gelgoog, I wonder when we'll see an RG of that bad boy ? Seems like they've done an RG of every Char suit except for the Gelgoog which seems a little odd. Maybe they've been holding off for some reason
Maybe they don't want to do grunt suits for real grades anymore? Iirc the last one was Johnny Ridden's Zaku and since then they haven't made any afaik. Even the RG GM and Gouf were just empty promises.
@@katallica6677 I didn't realize they had mentioned doing a Gouf or GM. On one hand that's really shocking they haven't done the GM but on the other maybe they were waiting until the RX78-2 RG 2.0 to do a GM since you could technically use the RX78-2 as the base for the GM
@@lllXanderlll I recall them being unveiled at the Gunpla Expo World Tour 2012, but yeah as a grunt enjoyer too I'm kind of sad to see those bunch just be a nothingburger. That is a good idea, though, just buying a GM to put on the 2.0 RG grandaddy lmao
I feel the best part of the Gelgoog Menace is it has the hard points for Wizard Packs. Japanese Builders already slapped on the old Gunner and Blaze packs onto it which look great
I was curious about this, I'll definitely be trying out the gunner pack with mine, the old HG zaku warrior unfortunately just isn't a good kit at all by modern standards
I got the Action Base 7 stands recently as well. Two packs to be specific so four stands in total. I set one up to support my RG TV Wing Gundam and the rest to support my HG Immortal Justice, Rising Freedom, and Wing Zero.
I really like all the seed freedom line so far you can go crazy with it and the piece doesn't fall off at all that how secure the nuild thoroughly is crazy good but it can be help that it drop in different date wish it drop all at once
HGCE(F) has delivered once again. Despite all the stickers and color corrections these kits require, they still look so phenomenal without any of them.
I just got it today. Lunamaria is my favorite seed character after Athrun. Im so happy she got another mobile suit and a figure rise standard kit! I hope we get more of her in figurerise.
also before the Gelgoog Menace was a thing in the SEED Destiny Astray manga one of the Gundam Astray Red Frame's forms called the "Mars Jacket" resembles the Gelgoog albeit more closely to the Universal Century MS than the Menace itself by design which also makes me wonder if the Mars Jacket is related to the development of the Menace in-universe.
Minor spoilers for Seed Freedom the hole on the back of the railgun is to use the adapter on the side of the mighty strike freedoms rail guns, basically the railgun is a big plot point in the movie which is why all the mobile suits compass uses have one. the Black Knight squadron has something called Femto armor which is basically anti-phase shift armor. Instead of resisting physical attacks it resists beam attacks which is why the railgun was used on all the compass suits since it uses a physical projectile
Dude made such a huge hullabaloo about the beam rifle adapter being revolutionary when the HG Arial literally has the exact same thing and he didn’t even make a huge fuss about it back then
I think the action base slot is for the earlier or a custom Action Base. Was building a Zudah and noticed a similar slot which according to the manual it is used for the slot type attachment that came with kits like the Gabthley
the flat hole besides the 3mm round hole is probably for using the flat-connector that the action base-2 have (no other action bases has that specific connector except the action base-2 afaik)
I saw the movie recently and every mobile suit on the Compass side gets the railgun that comes with this Gelgoog, hopefully Bandai releases it on it's own in an upgrade set because you'd be buying quite a few of these kits to get everyone to be movie accurate lol (there's also an issue where some kits can't hold it though, like the Destiny can't really hold it).
Well, Seed Freedom did use a lot of oldies with new designs. I am a big Gelgoog fan but with the currently lined suits, my interest goes towards the newer ones. The Gyan is what I am looking forward to. If they do the Z'gok that might be a nice one.
Holding off on the MC suits until I see the movie, but I think I'll be picking this one up regardless. Maybe the Gyan storm too, both are just way more appealing to me than the usual gundams.
I bet this Gelgoog is gonna get a lot of custom paints based on U.C. models. And then there's this one crazy bro that makes a complete set of Gelgoog Menace in every U.C. Gelgoog family color scheme he's aware of.
The parts count and degree of color separation on the seed freedom HGs are the highest among HG kits. The fact that it's still not enough to be color-accurate is a testament to how stupidly overdesigned the color layouts are for these suits. Bandai just really wants the incredibly thin wing parts to be the most colorful aspect of these kits.
Im waitint for the release of the Cal-re.A. Hopefully they dont make it a P-Bandai Release.....but if they do, hopefully it has gold plated parts instead of gold mold injection like they did with the HG Strike Freedom Wings of Light DX version.
you need to buy like 4 of this kit, since mighty strike freedom uses the gelgoog gun, so is destiny spec 2 and impulse spec 2. but the gun only comes with the gelgoog kit
The only thing I dislike on this kit is the pink, would prefer white but this is more of a design preference. Besides that, it looks great and it kicked ass in the movie.
I am surprised that it's the SEED Freedom movie the reason why we are getting HGCE "zeon" kits. I was wondering if there will be HGCE DOMs, GOUFs, and ZAKUs
Assuming you meant by Immortal Justice, no because the backpack on that kit is a two peg attachment, this is only one. However, this kit does work with the backpacks from the Zaku Warrior
The HGUC Gelgoog and Gelgoog Cannon were pretty good HGs for their time. Obviously not going match the quality of a modern HG double their MSRP, but they'd probably satisfy anyone wanting an HG Gelgoog. It seems like when Bandai tries to be more ambitious with their kits (like with the seed freedom kits thus far), some people feel more disappointed than if they tried less hard with the designs. The HGUC Gelgoog kit isn't nearly as ambitious, but it's solid and still holds up fairly well as a result.
I was shocked when you showed the lineart comparison. There's way more than color inaccuracy going on here. Edit: I wasn't expecting this kit to have a Gelgussy
I was going to wait for an MG version to display alongside my MG Zaku Warrior as well, but I just recently ended up buying the HG scale Archangel Catapult Deck on sale. So now I need some HG scale mobile suits to go with it! I'll definitely still get an MG version of the Gelgoog Menace when it happens.
The pain that UC Gelgoog lovers feel is nowhere near the amount of pain GuAIZ lovers feel for not even having a decent kit made of it for the last 20 years.
I have to correct you on that. Gelgoog Menace is one of the protagonists Mobile Suits. The villain Mobile Suits in SEED Freedom are Black Knight Squad.
