Love the video! I do want to say that Orange Chicken is not a traditional Chinese dish. And that orange is not the word that sounds like gold, but mandarin is (fruit). Mandarins are also used when praying to deceased friends/family. Also we used to make the lanterns by folding the paper in halfand then cut strips from the folded side to about an inch from the opened side, this way you don't have to another piece of cardstock inside!
Pluizje great tips! This week I’ve prepped meat for my daughters to fold their own potstickers! I have a video of some vegetarian friendly lunchbox ideas for the new year too! Would love your opinion on it!
@@LittleKosherLunch Saw your video and left a comment! Love the idea of exposing different cultures to children. It (hopefully) teaches children to respect other cultures even though it is different!
Love the exposure to different cultures!! The dragon is really creative, never would have repurposed egg cartons like that! And it's great that "Lunar New Year" was used instead of the standard "Chinese New Year" or "Vietnamese New Year."
JellyBeanTV stop self promoting on everyone’s channel, if you want subscribers you should make content people actually want to watch, not just beg for subscribers on other people’s channels.
I’m a Chinese and I really appreciate you integrating cultural diversity in your channel. That dragon is really well made and I will try making that with my kids. Thank you!
Elle, I'm Chinese and that fortune teller thingy is called 東南西北, which translates to east south west north. Instead of colors, we write one of the above for each square. Luv ur vids, keep it up!😁
0:30 You can just fold it and then cut on the fold .^. I love this and maybe with older kids like 9+ you can write Chinese symbols/words :> (I’m Chinese and *LOVE* this)
Your daughter is creative . She is gonna be something great one day. I used to be like her when I was a kid. Take good care of her. Put her in art club spin music club. Take good care of her talent
Lunar new year is one of the main holiday's my family celebrates!!!! It's so much fun! You get to stay up late and eat moon cake! My family always sit at a balcony and watch the moon!! Lunar new year is another way to say Chinese New Year! I love lunar new year!

Hi elle, love those ideas and im chinese!! One craft you could try is sticking four red packets together, exposing a half of each side, which means that you have to interwine them. Then you can cut up straws or any other long pipes to form chinese characters or english ones are great too! I did a school project and wrote the word 福 福 means good luck and prosperity. People usually hang up the word upside down on the front of their houses. The chinese word for upside down sounds like the chinese word for arrived. Thus, hanging it upside down means that good luck and prosperity has come(arrived) at your house. I hope you give this a try!
Woohoo! I just shared a Chinese New Year Lunchbox video on my channel (featuring tons of fruits and veggies from the 99 Ranch Market)! This video is such a great compliment! Loved it! Those lanterns were 🙌!
actually the word orange sounds the same to the word gold in Cantonese :-) in Chinese, orange is "Chén" but gold is "jīng" but in Cantonese they're both pronounced as "Gam" 🍊🍊🍊
I love this! With my family we dress up in our Chinese New Year outfits and we have a huge dinner. Another thing that would be fun is to give them red envelopes either with money or chocolate coins. Happy Chinese New Year!
