GIMME!!!! You seem happier now than you did towards the end of the previous channel. I hope that observation is accurate. I appreciate the time you share with us. Thank you
Hey robo! I’m glad you received the wall, I had completely forgotten about the one you had. I didn’t post socials as I didn’t have much experience. This is the first custom I sent out. I’m so glad you enjoy!
@ 7:40 They're not excuses, I completely understand that feeling. If it works for you, if you get that click in your brain, it means it's perfect for you. I love that about customizing.
Love ! Favorite toy videos for me is your play day vids! Gave me so much inspiration! And I did replace my Mafex jean with one of the black widow headsculpts and it worked perfectly now that is the Jean grey on my shelf paired with Scott with shades on ❤
I knew coming home early from work would pay off!!! It is like Saturday morning but it Thursday!!! But now that I've watched, motivation for mowing the lawn has faltered. 😅
0:20 the goofy fella 0:46 love him, how could you call him a failure 1:40 damn 👁️👁️ 1:55 HOLY SHIT 7:09 didn't know my boi Carnage started a custom action figure market
That Cap head is beautiful! I may need to at least hit mine with the black. It just makes the figure look like Cap. Characters who NEED the shading on their mask: Batman (especially with the blue eyebrows), Captain America, Daredevil
as soon as i saw your bane video i bought that retro batman and swapped it too. when i did it my first thought was "oh man, this would look so nice with a 6-inch scooby doo line!" and then BOOM jada came out at sdcc with theirs, making a match made in heaven for me 😂
A kick butt dead dragon diorama 💯😎 like have his rib bones showing like hes battle damaged or a diorama of your choosing. Cool video Robo. Btw i customized my retro carded Avalanche and made him light blue🤣
Love that Mezco Hellboy. Was my first Hellboy fig, it unfortunately fell off my shelf and broke the ankle joint. 😢 I have the DC Multiverse Mcfarlane Bat skull bike. I have him sitting on that now with the broken foot on the side of the bike you can’t see on the shelf.
With the abandoned Death bird body you could kitbash a alternative female Colossus... I suggest the name Girder (Gird-her) for it...or Colossus Daughter figure....
Patina-up that dragon skeleton and I can think of loads of display options. Nice! Take the legs off of 1 and you can have it as a discarded skeleton in a desert display
@@RoboDontKnow yeah! The guy from MATLOCK I think? And the book has a great phrase I have never forgotten. "The bearded rose". Think it's a name of a bar 🤔😉
I don't collect McFarlane anymore, but damn, that New Adventures head looks awesome on the Mafex Knight Crusader body. I'm definitely tempted in trying out that idea for myself haha
Hey Robo what do you think of doing that shading on Cap's mask on the new Secret Wars Captain America? With the two Head sculpts leads to more displaying options.🤔
Totally agree on the "unlimited money = cases of Mr. Super Clear Matt". I've had to make the excuse that I only use it with Live Action Figures (Star Wars/MCU) so I dont burn through it messing with my comic figures.
These look so cool as always! I’m hoping to get the new tarantula, I have the old one since it was still in stores (still have the crate accessories too and have him posed in a karate jump/midair kick or flying kick with his arms in a crane position (I clearly don’t know martial arts moves) since he looks odd in a default position with the ball hips with the spider details Seeing the retro Batman head one the mafex body looks cool yet with the neck on the retro McFarland sculpt gives me a impression of a older Batman like he’s in his mid 70’s while being so fit and hasn’t lost either his edge or himself which is cool to imagine Spiral looks great and I agree the less amount of the yellow does give it a shading look and the chrome pens seem to be a great thing for affordable chrome (I got a molotow liquid chrome mirror effect alcohol marker pen 2mm, haven’t used it yet but hear so many positive reviews on it and saw videos on the product looking like shiny chrome due to it possibly having latex as a ingredient I had to get it) the lets resin chrome marker (I’m going to look into it to see how some other people use it to get a better understanding on the lets resin chrome marker) the happy accidents does wonders The new the wall looks realistic to the existent of it being a bit terrifying to imagine some poor dude turning into a literal brick wall and looks like it painful vs the other one looking for like a outfit like the rhino due to the head sculpt The fwoosh skeleton is a great addition to the Halloween or spooky ideas or something to have in the background Hellboy is amazing Captain America has plenty of marvel legend figures yet none don’t have the shadowing cowl which is surprising even if they could make one of where it is a actual black fabric on the mask to have a unique take on the costume (or just decoration like the Adam west cowl) N’astirh being red (for earth-91240) or green (for earth-616) (yeah I had to quick google image because I know next to nothing about the mystical aspect of the marvel universe or how marvel demons work on if they’re the same guy or just different iterations, I’m gonna look into that to understand) but somehow makes me think he’d be a ruler of red light green light lol (even if it’s 2 separate iterations)
If you have an Ollie's they are getting the new Tarantula for $9.99. I love Molotow chrome but haven't tried their gold. Oooo, I didn't know N'astirh was two different universes. I remember him as green from Inferno mostly. Hmmm...
I didn't even know people had made comic accurate headsculpts for Hellboy, I just bought two (one neutral and one angry)! I've never painted something in 1/12 scale before, so this is going to be fun!
Compete with online, as in price matching your site? I mean, the 30% off took care of a lot of it, so not a biggie, just wondering. I also grabbed the big glow in the dark skeleton for the porch, heh.
Hello Robo , love the show , love the custom work u do very cool , I was wondering where can I find Cassiday astonishing Wolverine head sculpt , would love one.
Golden Spiral may have started as a rather monochromatic "there is no time for the colorist to check the one or two currently published issues of Longshot to get her palette right" thing that kept being used later in non-Art Adams appearances of Spiral, but you made it look great. To be more comic book-accurate she would need to have five fingers on each hand, as some of those issues had her drawn incorrectly, giving her normal human hands.
@RoboDontKnow I've just reread that and realised it sounds like I'm criticising the customs, I'm not at all! What I meant was that the work done on the customs is fantastic and that the small tweaks further that which is something most people wouldn't immediately realise. Summary: bloody incredible!
YT is funny. They ran an anti-Robot ad before this. LOLz NOT. I was eyeing some of them Gargoyles for Sym and N'astirh, myself. Brooklyn and Broadway at my store dropped to $25, but I kept putting it off, then the last Broadway wound up in clearance for $15. Fine, I'll grab it AFTER work. NOPE. Gone. smh. I still need Lexington. and did Business Suit Xanatos and Elisa ever come out? I saw the G+D Mirror set over two months ago. Seems to have dried up? Deathbird and Cassandra Nova have been on my "to do" list for a while. I just don't want to use a Dora Milaje head for Cassandra. Gamora v2 body is a great base, tho.
Honestly that headswap on the mafex batman also fixes an issue i have with that figure, where the neck looks a bit too thin with the original head, with that swap the head looks flush with the neck Edit: as a Hellboy fan, the Harbour movie is not very good unfortunately.
I wonder how it has to be for your family to have like, a bunch of tiny plastic husbands or dads on shelves. That has to be a little bit surreal, but fun to see people love you that much.
Love that Cap head and Hellboy. What do you do for painting figure joints? Avoid bending/rubbing or have you found a good seal to keep the friction down? I'm about to paint a custom 1/6 Rogue Trooper figure from caucasian skin to blue and the joints always add the stress.
I've never been good at joint prep so I usually just pick a pose and leave it or try to pick base bodies that are already the color I want at the joints.
It looks great already but I think a wash on that squid head would go a long way. I would go with Agrax Earthshade or Reikland Fleshshade. But great play day as always. Love that Cap head!
Ah, it was not "The", it was meant to be "Red". 😅 It's a good thing I could not "fix" it when I first noticed it, as I would have used the wrong word. 😁
I got that exact same Avalanche head. I've never painted a figure before, so was excited when you said you'd provide details and links for all the paints you used... Anybody know what paint he used?
Sorry, I can't find the skintone online but it's Ceramcoat Flesh from Walmart and then the silver is from an Army Painter multipack but any silver will do.
