I honestly suggest grabbing a Launchbox hard drive already made from Amazon to really see how they are made and of course to have one already set up, I've tried many hard drives from online and I suggest it.
I just updated mine from 5.3 to 6.0. But I can't open any game now. It keeps showing error message saying F:\Retrobat\emulationstation\emulatorLauncher.exe. Can any one tell me how to fix it? thanks
@@BytesNBits thanks for the reply! I got that sorted it was because my antivirus software.I have to turn it off to make it working. Another problem is after the update all Saturn Ps1 Ps2 Ps3 games are not playable. It's saying missing bios or firmware. They were working perfectly on 5.3 version. Such a nightmare.
How do you get the emulator when it launches a game like Dolphin, not appear in a small window and dissappear before launching a game? I really hate that. 😢
For some emulators, especially stand alone ones, this is part of their startup sequence. Try using a RetroArch Libretro core. These tend to go straight into the game.
Could this play an iso file that you download off of the internet say something ea sports nhl 2000 that was back in the day on windows 95 & 98 also on xp
After updating Retrobat all my emulators started giving problems. I managed to get some systems working by changing the emulators. The ones that don't work like CPS1-3, NES, FC, GB, GBC, GBA etc. all have this flickering and slowdown when opening a game. When I run the emulators by themselves the games seem to work, but when I run them through Emulationstation/Retrobat, the screen flickers or looks like it is refreshing very fast, almost giving you a seizure.
@@BytesNBits Not sure, everything was already installed. The system came pre-installed with Emulation Station and Retrobat. Everything worked fine until I ran the updater from within ES. Afterward I had to go through each system and go through each emulator till I could find one that worked. For the systems mentioned above, none of the emulators work anymore they either just crash immediately or flicker with a massive stutter. When I open the emulators by themselves, the flickering does not occur and it seems like it's working, but I don't want to run them separately because that will render Retrobat and ES useless.
If a new update has just been released your security software won't have seen many people use it yet. Either wait a few days so it gathers some data or click the OK button. Make sure you are downloading the from the official website and not a random link elsewhere. www.retrobat.org/
11:05 How do I know in which folder I have to put in the rom? What if I change the folder names and delete some folders, e.g. only one amiga folder instead amiga 500 amiga 1200 and so on?
If you alter the folders you'll need to go into the RetroBat settings and tell it to remap itself to your new names, etc. For the amiga put the game into the folder for the Amiga model you want to use.
Thank you. One RB annoyance is the use of a fixed folder structure. Ideally, you should be able to have one games library with multiple front ends on the same system. You have to use Windows hard links to achieve this with RB.
Having done a full windows setup of emulation station/retroarch manualy i can totaly apreciate Retrobat. Ill be using it as a jump off point for my next build for sure !!!
I think you skipped a lot of steps because I followed your steps and nothing happens it doesn't open up like your did and it shut down so every time I open i have to reinstall
3 months ago I recommended this emulator framework to my former Hungarian RU-vidr (with a green lambda sign) who also likes to use emulators to try out video games from different console platforms. It's really great that we can choose from a wide variety of themes, and we can set whether or not there are videopreviews. 🙂 It's even great that it can be installed on an external storage device (whether it's a flash drive, external hard drive or SSD), so it can be made quasi-portable. I will soon try out how many emulators I can run on a Kingston Datatraveler Max flash drive. 🙂
how do you uninstall a theme that you don't like? 1 other thing the gamecube games folder which run dolphin once you launch a gamecube game and the dolphin emulator run you cannot just press select and start to exit out of the game, you have to actually close out dolphin it self then go back to retrobat. I think is the same for ps2 and ps3 and other as well.
Yes. It does a good job but not perfect for every emulator. It manages to install and connect but some of the finer setup details like in emulator hotkeys etc. you need to set up yourself.
If you mean one with games etc. I think there are, but you'd need to look around for one. Make sure you're happy with the source as you will be installing software not from the official source.
I got it works very good. RetroX is the best one I ever used, I've been using it for 4 years. Retrobat is close, it has more emulators then RetroX and easy to setup too
If I want to use a custom standalone emulator for a system, can I do that? (Ex: Metroid Prime: Trilogy has a custom-made version of dolphin for it that's called PrimeHack) Also is it possible to transfer saves from my current emulators to retrobat?
Yes. You can get RetroBat to launch most emulators. The built in ones it will set up for you. The others you have to give it a path to the executable file and maybe some command line parameters. But most will have guides for connecting them up.
Yes. There are actually media packs you can download that people have put together. You do have to be very careful about file and folder names to get them to match up. It's not something I've done myself but there are tutorials to help you work it out.
RetroBat uses RetroArch in the background. It just gives you the really nice user interface with all the images and videos. So your gaming will be the same, just looks better and easier to use.
@@apiscator444 Once it's all set up I suppose yes. The advantage in using it is that it does do a lot of the nitty gritty setup and installation for you. Especially on the Emulation Station end where you can bring together RetroArch and other emulators, plus the whole theming and general setup. I wouldn't go back to raw RetroArch nowadays when these systems look and work so much better.
It's good to learn RetroArch (and use) anyway. I also suggest downloading the emulators you like and learning how they work, Dolphin and Flycast and the PS 2 and 3 emulators are fun and easy to learn.
