Tbh, I think this is a *bad* remake. There's too many things scattered accross the room. When you're supposed to look at the screen but you're wondering at the hamster.. I would like them to play the original version. Much better than this one.

Honestly, how they reacted is almost a perfect example of how humanity's understanding of gravity has evolved. We kinda plodded along for a very long time, not really knowing what we were doing, but just putting pieces together here and there, and eventually we thought we had come to understand it pretty well. Then Einstein came along and showed us that gravity is _way_ more complex than we thought, and we suddenly realized that we knew nothing.

Y E S. I watched Markiplier play the first version of this game ages ago and it's SO GOOD. Requires a lot of thinking and memorisation! Gav has a really good memory too, I was impressed.

I havent played the remake, but the original i would never have gotten all of the endings without the guide. Especially the midnight ending.

I would love to see this continued but there is no way they are completing the game without a guide

I haven't played this particular puzzle game, so I can't be certain how it plays out. But I do enjoy puzzle games and have played through a fair few, ranging from old Lucasarts games to The Witness... So, I think I get where people are coming from with this argument. I imagine that their point is that there is some stuff in this game that you just aren't going to figure out within reason. It's too complicated, too esoteric, or just too incoherent to figure out on your own, from any kind of first principles. Maybe there aren't enough solid hints in the game, or maybe there are just way too many red herrings and confusing tangents. This means some of these endings are going to only be achieved after an absurd amount of time spent trying every permutation of inputs until something new happens. That's fun at first but can become frustrating, and especially when you're talking about making content there's little to be gained from continually making mistakes because you're not thinking in the right direction. I don't think anyone wants them to just sit there with a guide, going from step one and following instructions. They just don't want to watch these guys flounder and get pissed off at a game. The best way I can think of to put them on the right path is if someone else, who has experienced the game themselves and knows what does and doesn't progress each puzzle, could sit in on them and give them a single pointer at a time when they're completely lost and banging random things with a hammer for the fortieth time. Let's assume Matt is a nerd who has thoroughly played this game. They ask Matt if they're hitting the right things with their hammer. He says something like "no, maybe have another look at this set of switches" and then after five minutes of fumbling they find another number they can input. Or he tells them there's something interesting about the snake poster in the back, but doesn't tell them what, and lets them try to figure out what to do. This is my assumption based on how people talk about this game in the comments, and I don't doubt it has at least one or two absolute bastard endings that only seem like they make sense when you already have the answer. It's not a perfect solution, but if the choice is between never finishing the game and having someone give them a single clue when they're completely stuck, then I'd prefer that. Having someone who is informed involved, but their only role in the video is to make sure the players know when they're completely off the rails and point them in a direction. And I trust these guys to play it straight for the sake of the content if nothing else, and not just ask our example of Matt if he can just give them all the answers, because that is also a boring way to make a video.

Same, i've been rewatching them this week in the evenings when i want a laugh. You get to a point where you have to keep pausing because it's so funny. The combination of the derpy rabbit bodies bouncing about and hitting spikes or getting sent into orbit by mines, and their reactions to the repeated fails.
