Okay, I kind of want a spinoff series of Robert Garrick. Just him investigating occult mysteries. And I love how his Beast is giving off a Jack the Ripper meets Doctor Watson vibe.

You know things are bad when the Malkavian in the room asks if you're alright and the Tremere doesn't know what to make of the situation

Bryan's acting in this episode was absolutely phenomenal. There were so many layers to it and the small touches such as messing up his hair and taking off his tie in frustration just added to the character. Amazing work!

Garrick being the most sane person in the room at one point was just amazing haha

Love how Fiorenza is always on the edge of dunking on someone. She commands authority effortlessly. What a beast.

It is truly terrifying to watch Vannevar unravel like he is.

When even a Malkavian questions your sanity..!

There is hardly anything that says "Garrick is a scholar" better then him using terms like fetish and garou.

I love how Malkavian Therese, yet how bold her questions to the Prince are, "If you wife has to answer, are you fine?"

Garrick....a soft spoken and intelligent man with a hint of danger in his actions. Reminds me of a certain tailor.

I hope we will see more of Mr. Garrick, because I could totally sit here and listen to his voice for 3 more hours. Also, Ib is gorgeous.

Vannevar is such a fun character. He is so childlike in many ways, especially his impatience and constantly turning to Suzanne like a child looking to his mother for help. There's a very cartoonish quality to him, and the actor does a fantastic job in injecting humor into his performance, like when he yells at Garrick for not laughing.

I really like the different beast voices Jason is using for each vampire. Especially that cockney beast that Garrick has.

That bit with Suzanne peering into the future was quite interesting, seems like she's gonna get diablerized by one of the Lasombra.

Surprising, Vannevar's offer to Jasper seems to have actually been in earnest.

Garrick is an awesome character. So nonchalant, apathetic, and aloof; in other words, very Tremere. I still hope that Strauss himself will make an appearance on the show, one of these nights, but until then Garrick will suffice for my black Tremere heart.

The actress playing Suzanne has a gift for dialogue matched only by Jason Carl himself.

Vannevar's actor needs an award.... I was properly terrified by the level of mental instability he was portraying. I had to pause multiple times... This was just beautiful and simultaneously terrifying... this is the vampire in charge and he is in no way in charge of his own mind... I can see why his last city might have collapsed all around him.

The guy playing Vannevar is phenomenal and his interaction with Therese is glorious and disturbing.

the look on Vannevar's face when Garrick was trying to get his attention on the bauble was amazing acting on Bryan's part, he barely looked away once and looked like a child fascinated with a toy

You look beautiful just like Vampira, Elvira and Morticia. 2) Mr. Garrick you have an amazing voice. 3) I see only one man-baby and that is Vannevar. (Dementation?, Thaumaturgy?, Suzanne's manipulation?, Ventrue elder??, Beckoning??? or Antideluvian?!!!!) 4) Fiorenza Savona is a very brilliant and dangerous lady, I hear stories that she has connections to the UN and more, fascinating indeed. 5) Props to everyone for such a charismatic performance.

I'm not even ten minutes in and Garrick is great. He just has this whole air with Vannevar of "You're a prince? That's cute. Try navigating MY clan twenty years ago."

I just jumped into this, not knowing much about LA by Night, but I saw Bryan and Amelia and was like OH DAMN I GOTTA WATCH THIS, and seeing Bryan like this just upset me in a way I wasn't expecting (seeing someone ill like that hits me in places). It's amazing, he really FEELS like a very very old man in a young body, and Amelia playing the noble wife trying to keep his shit together. Suzanne could totally use Vannevar's current state to manipulate power, but I never doubt her devotion and love for her husband. 1:53:18 this scene is pretty funny but kinda sums up the whole sad situation for me. lol.

Vannevar is seriously losing it... and I am HERE FOR IT

I think i'm actually understanding Vannevar point of view. I don't think he's really under any supernatural influence. He's actually a pretty common Ventrue. He's born, as Jack would say, in a boardroom, calculating everything. Ever since he declared Praxis, things went wrong for him. Now, i'm going to assume that while he's a powerful Ventrue, he's not that old ( most elders are under the Beckoning's influence ). I'm going also to assume he did what most Ventrue did, and achieved too much power too early. While people is seeing a unhinged Vannevar, and i agree, what i'm seeing here is that he's completely baffled at the lack of rational logic happening in his domain. When the Cammarilla steps up, YOU OBEY. You don't decapitate a Sheriff. You don't stake a Herald. You don't go out doing speeches for "the good of all" nor you disobey a prince's command. Vannevar kissed several rings on his undead lifetime, and now he has to deal, in a city he clearly hates, with a powerhungry Ventrue that refuses to kisses his. Which is why i'm actually pleased to say that i'm highly sure Victor will be the last one laughing in this entire debacle. Unlike Vannevar and the other barons or cammies, Victor is used to adversity. He doesn't throw a fit when stuff doesn't go his way. He is level headed, he tries his best for diplomacy, he actually has loyal companions. The two other people i see outliving him are Fiona and Fiorenza, because Fiona is also extremely mature under bad circumstances ( Vannevar isn't ), and Fiorenza is probably the most powerful Kindred in this entire chronicle. TL;DR: Vannevar is pissed because it's unusual for a Prince to be disrespected as he is, and he's clearly not used to dissapointment and adversity. So, his instinct is to be pissed and throw fits. He is a Cammarilla prince, all right.

Man, Vannovar does unhinged very well. It's lovely. Ib as sheriff? That's .... going to be interesting.

Some are guessing Suzanne is behind Vannevar's deterioration but I would guess it's somehow related to the beckoning---many older vampires are feeling the overwhelming urge to cross the ocean to where something is calling them, and the strain of resisting the summons is breaking Vannevar's mind. That's my shot in the dark.

For those who are not familiar with Bryan Dechart you may know him as the Android sent by Cyberlife. Also Suzanne is played by his at the time newly engaged wife

Lots of well deserved accolades in the comments but I am not seeing enough appreciation for our devious Suzanne who is absolutely amazing! Great acting and a character I simply enjoy immensely. Bravo! I've been hoping to see more of her ever since the events at elysium and this certainly did not disappoint.

This might be Jason Carl's first time roleplaying as a Roomba. I want to make the joke that "he kinda sucked," but who are we kidding? Best Roomba roleplayer of 2019, clearly.

The performances were extraordinary in this episode. I am blown away by the talent in this group.

This is the only RPG series in which I actually applaud the players for their performances.

Bryan's acting as Vannevar was SO on-point. Beautifully unnerving.

Honestly? I'd love to see this more often. Individual RPG groups reacting to one another in separate, once plans are enacted. It's such a cool idea.

The Malkavian said "this is the thing now that we do." That was one of the funniest moments of my entire life. You have this Prince who is falling apart and everyone is indulging him and the Malkavian can recognize someone going insane when she sees it but nobody will admit the prince is off his rocker so everyone is mimicing him to make it seem more acceptable but it isn't working on her. So she calmly and with a straight face says "this is the thing now, that we do." I am dying of laughter at a joke that nobody I know in my real life could ever understand. OMG tears are running down my face as I type this.

Fiorenza pulls the strings of everyone while Vannevar is madder than a Malkavian. Is it the beckoning that plagues him? Also, grats for making the worse cliffhanger I ever invest to in the previous episode and makes me subscribed on twitch. Hate that there is no subtitle there tho, I'm not native in English and even auto-translate helped me :( . Fiona is badass, I feel trembling of how she did the stunt.

I love the Vamily, but as far as sheer powerhouse acting, spiderwebs of intrigue, and that post-game scene, this might be the best ep of LAbN so far, holy crap

I watch several other RPG shows and it is rare they get great guests that know their character's and the game enough to step in without being told much what they are doing and feeling a little lost. Many of the guest characters are even already well established in the world, and not original to this series, yet they play them out wonderfully without any real issue, while sticking with the personality of the character I know them to be. They do it so well that a whole team of non-players, only guests that have appeared a few times, have made 2 great shows with only Jason and their knowledge of those characters. I have just never seen guests of a show, be able to stand in so completely without losing anything, as the LA by Night show seems to every episode they bring in other players to help tell the story. :)

Geez Therese, if a Malkavian felt someone trying to invade her mind,... let them in and let them see what a Malkavian (especially an experienced elder) is actually thinking. Answer their questions in a manner a member of the clan of the moon would, and see how much willpower they got before their mind bteak and gain several derangements.

While watching this I cant help but feel sorry for the Prince. I could listen to Garrick for hours, he has such a wonderful voice. I can't wait till next week!

Vannevar's actor is so good at playing up the constant pull of the beckoning as an elder. The way I have been playing it in my game is by giving characters dreams and distracting them a lot. But I really like this interpretation of the beckoning's pull.

Amelia is so regal in this and she plays off Bryan so well!! They're both so talented I'm wheezing. Amelia with that accent is gonna melt me

It is breathtaking to see the actor playing Vannevar unraveling his madness, damn!!!

I would definetly like a VTM: Garrick series. In which he and some assistants solve occult mysteries and recover artifacts! And as ever I enjoyed the performance of the cast members, Jason Carl is an amazing storyteller. And the story unravels in a very, very interesting way. Vannevar seems very different since 'innocent monsters' Is it the Beckoning? Is it a scheme from maybe Therese, Suzanne...? And then the epsiode's conclussion. Thight situation. To say the least.

The speed of Sanchez’s dialogue, Vannevar talking over him, the perfect symphony of Ib working with the Prince and Storyteller. What a masterful job!!

Anyone else notice how Vannevar's hair was smooth and slicked down and began to grow more and more disheveled as it becomes more and more clear how absolutely bonkers he is? I suspect he is suffering from the Megalomania derangement. Maybe with a sprinkling of Hysteria for flavour.

Omg I LOVE Vannevar he’s so crazy and stressed out and not human it’s amazingly funny. I like seeing how many years of life and building of an empire make it coming down so much harder, almost like a tantrum.

I’ve yet to see Ivan Van Norman play a role that he hasn’t absolutely killed at. I cracked up so hard when he started contact juggling.

Bro the guy that plays Vannevar descending into madness is fuckin absolutely amazing. 11/10. Had me cracking up and riveted all at the same time.
