I have been wanting to learn piano since I was very little. I was never able to afford a keyboard until about 2 weeks ago when I was helping a friend that has a second hand store and she gave me the deal of a lifetime. A full 88 key keyboard for just $75. Brought it home that same day and looked on RU-vid for a piano teacher and found you ! I knew right away that I had hope to be able to learn from you and I love your excitement it gives me excitement and confidence that I can and will learn. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💓
The keyboard player for Journey, Jonathan Cain, was struggling as a young musician in Hollywood, and was feeling like he might give up. He talked to his father, who said, "don't stop believing." He remembered those words, and now they are a part of one of Journey's top songs. True story.
I V VI IV - NOW I FINALLY GET IT! Don't know why I couldn't see it before! SO many piano teachers couldn't do in years what you have done in 5 minutes! Thank you for this! Am now a Pianote student!!
I just bought a yamaha psr e373 yesterday ....and i tried the technic u teach in this video...dont stop believing is basically easy specially the way u teach how to play it ....slowly and simply....damn i cant believe i can play piano for the very 1st time....im already 37y/o...hahaha its never too late to learn musical instruments....thanks alot....u inspired me....more power to channel...pianote☝️🔥🔥🔥
I'm really happy that I found this channel. Everytime I'm sitting depressed at my PC and thinking that I could never play piano this channel somehow gives me a little boost. Thank you!
So at 37 I'm getting my first piano this week a 130 Yr old upright as I think playing music will help me a lot with my autism, iv never had a lesson and never played a note and so I'm watching as many of your videos as I can and see how far I get, I find your videos soooo easy to watch thank you soooo much for uploading your videos
Thank you so very very much for making things look so very simple. But really fun . Your not only a fantastic teacher but you have a lovely voice as well. From Phil in Nottingham England.
u are a sooo good teacher and a cuttie !!!! ( sorry for my english im from Uruguay) , and i learn a lot of songs for piano watching your videos.... u are a really really good teacher and a charming person
I love your videos! You are an excellent teacher! When reading the chord chart to a song how do you know which C, Am, F, G to play on the piano for example is it C4, Am4 etc?
I indeed thought that this is the way to learn. I followed the Method for a few months and after a year, confronted with the requirements of RCM Prep B and Level 1 exams. I started from the basics again. All I can say is that the boring learning prepares us for real piano playing challenges - not playing “for fun”! Ps. Hand independence, so important in playing more advanced classical music pieces, is not developed by this playing. Singing can cover any piano playing weaknesses.
Lisa, don´t ever "calm your excitement down". You are the best piano teacher I know, so keep it that way!! :) Thsnls for your great tips!!! I hope I join the pianote community this year from Spain!!!
Dear beautiful Lisa,You are the best, you are wonderful, you are lovely and beautiful. Lisa I am sending you my love and light from Virginia Beach I am 71 and tomorrow morning I will finally 9:21 be playing the piano because of you. I love it. I love you
I have the same experience. I just didn't start playing as a kid but as an adult. I tried enrolling in a piano lesson but I felt too pressured because of my piano teacher. 😣😥
Dear Lisa, it’s not clear if during playing a chord with fingers 1-3-5 my fingers 2 and 4 should be lifted or tucked. Needless to say i cannot lift enough finger 4 without hitting a key. Thanks
Hi I have Cerebral palsy is there anyway to be able to play with one hand? I’ve been trying with only my left hand. Thanks for any advice you may have. I did a song with one of your Apediggos.
Coming from guitar i somehow thought this would be pretty simple. I mean, all the notes are just laying next to each other, how easy is that? This is complicated, my left hand always hits the wrong notes :(
I love your videos! You are an excellent teacher! When reading the chord chart to a song how do you know which C, Am, F, G to play on the piano for example is it C4, Am4 etc?
Hi Lisa. You are a great teacher. Your videos made me buy a MIDI keyboard and a KORG PS700 keyboard. Now I practice every day 5 to 6 hours. Thanks for lessons on RU-vid. Although I am 72 years old playing scales and very simple songs, it prevents my hands getting arthritis. Great show...looking forward for more great lessons. Thank you.
At 4:49 you can see the back of her keyboard and it says it's a Yamaha CP. I looked on Yamaha's website and there are 3 models under that name--the least expensive is $2700.
You’re my new piano teacher! I’ve played by ear for years but never knew the “math” of what I was actually doing- didn’t care to learn- (teachers go fast and get confusing too fast )but you slow it down for special people like US!! 🤗❤️
I have to inform you that I have copyrighted the C Scale. Unfortunately this includes every chord progression and arpeggio involved. My lawyer wasn't able to copyright diminished chords nor tritones so you can continue playing scary and dissonant songs. Hate to spoil everyone's Christmas, but business is business. We'll send you payment details in a later comment.
I'm having trouble following along. You're not doing it slowly enough! I will keep watching you and learning. Because you DO do a good job of teaching, your just moving a bit fast on the keyboard. 😭Help please!😭🥺🥺
Wow that course really helped my speed and accuracy of the keys! It taught me C chords, A chords. Major/minor chords. C major scale, A major scale, and the geography of the keyboard. GO CHECK OUT THE FREE COURSE!
Watching all the way from San Antonio Texas USA...you’re as always awesome Lisa! Thanks for sharing and making it easier for us to learn the piano! I’m self-taught btw and I did learn a lot from you...again, thanks a whole lot!!!! 💕
Hey @lisa If ur singing cover versions or ur own songs On RU-vid or spotify then pls share that link. Love ur voice. me + my son + my daughter.. Love ur voice.
I will not stop believing... that I, in my forties, can learn how to play piano thanks to this lovely and enthusiastic piano instructor, Lisa. Thank you!
As a guitarist my Left hand (bass hand ) is a hell of a lot more coordinated than my right hand. That’s why I’ve struggled with piano. This video helped tons!!
Just watch your video I wants to play but before I run and buy keyboard please let me know if Yamaha Psr series have this iconic Hammond organ sound (b3) thx
I learn a lot of your videos, it inspired me to start on my piano again! I've two questions.. When you play and sing, I hear you sometimes repeat a chord 4 times, others maybe 3 times or 1 time. How do you know what the repeat is? I can't figure out how that works. Can you play this kind of music also with broken chords?
I just received a free piano and am learning (had band in High School and know only a bit). Lisa is wonderful! Does anyone know if she has done a video on how to play a short introduction before playing a hymn in church? Or just playing quietly and learning to transition to a song?
We have serious teachers and we have fun teachers and we have really cool and fun and excited teachers. You are all I am glad I will be learning from you. Also you are beautiful. And your voice is even more beautiful 😍.
OMG I totally LOVE you. Dont stop believing is one of my favorites. We went to a dualing piano bar recently and they were playing that song and the whole audience was singing. Like they say music is the universal language and you’re the best teacher.
Hi. Currently I'm 13 but I can't afford a piano or piano lessons. I do want to learn it though, do you think when I will be older and get enough money, will it be too late?
