Stayed there 17 yrs ago on my honeymoon.... incredible! Tamarindo...fun surf town is a short drive. Been to CR three times and heading back again soon. It's a must.

Definitely! My first trip to the Tamarindo area was in 1987, when it was mostly dirt roads in Guanacaste. We pulled up our truck onto the sand at Nosara and spent 3 days on the beach without seeing another person...

Good question! They're actually fishing off the rocks on the point, away from the people.

I think the reason is not the shells but that there is no river delta. That's why keys and islands usually have white sand and clear water.

Great point, and I'm sure that contributes to it....But Brasilito right next door (less than 50 meters away) has water that's nice, but not quite so clear....
