Honestly I had a theory that all the rivals you were originally gonna fight in gens 3ds we’re gonna be playable like metal sonic in episode metal of sonic 4 but instead just have 1 stage and a boss. Why do you think we have RH & biolizard in gens 3ds.
If sega hadn’t rushed dimps to make this game in less than a year than we might have actually had that with the rivals, sonic 4 episode metal is a proof of concept of what I mean.
Considering how much people at the time were whining "Urgh, I hate Sonic's stinky friends, get rid of 'em, WAAAH" there was absolutely no chance of any playable character other than Sonic. It really is a shame that Sega seem to letting the most negative of naysayers ultimately dictate what can and can't be in a Sonic game.
@@bingobo2551 It really annoyed me that almost every Sonic game throughout the 2010's was almost determined to undermine every single solitary character who wasn't Sonic. I mean just look at that character countdown that they did to promote Sonic 4. If that wasn't a desperate attempt at trying to appeal to the "Sonic's stupid friends" crowd, then I don't know what is.
Yo, I've played the mod, it's really cool but can you make a version of the mod that Shadow runs skating and hovers when he's boosting, or have you already tried that?
@@jeejfaaf Funfact: The 3DS version was initially made for the PSP, but due to hardware limitations and the PSP no longer being such an active console in 2011 they moved the game to the 3DS. They actually found prototype files for the PSP version which contained Mushroom Hill and some of the PSP button layout.
It's kind of weird how this is such an impressive/polished mod but yet they couldn't be bothered to change the color of the boost gauge to like black or red instead of blue. Surely that can't be too difficult.
I'd argue that a 2D HUD and a 3D model may not be in the same format thus would require twice the work. Shadow already exists as a model in 3DS Gens, a red UI would be making an entirely new file.
So I believe that the custom Shadow over Sonic is good but. . .the only thing that needs to be fixed is the running animation for Shadow and let's be honest it was only halfway finished. But great showcase of the Shadow mod though😎👍
What makes you say it's mediocre? I mean sure it's not on the same level as Colors DS but it's a competent handheld game (especially compared to some of the worse of the GG and Lost World 3DS). I think I'd rate it on the same level as Pocket Adventure.
