I wanted to put together a video focusing on the DRIVE section of the channels as used with a drum machine and synth. This analog DRIVE is important to the sound of the mixer. I find it to be musically pleasing and not cold or sterile, despite the mixer being solid state. The idea is that it can really thicken the sound quite a bit, or totally distort it, if that's what you want.
In this video, I showcase the input levels, filters (both channel filters and master filter) SCULPT EQ section, and Auxiliary sends/returns.
All of this is done with a Roland TR-8S, Norand Mono, and Boss DM-101 which is the heart of my live hardware techno sets. Typically, I would add an Abstrakt Avalon bassline (303 clone), perhaps a polysynth, and another effect for reverb.
