I recently asked my 3-year old which was his favorite surgery to date. He thought for a moment, then replied “the hip surgery - I liked using the hammer.” 🔨

The things we do. I had never heard of a femoral nail - but when my friend @dr.leandro.ejnisman, an orthopedic hip surgeon in São Paulo, recommended it for my tool-loving kid, I had to give it a shot. He wasn’t kidding - the kid was thrilled with the mountain of homemade (and home-found) tools at our side, even for this simplified “bare bone” version of it 😂
