Crazy how Snijder didn't win Ballon Dor in 2010 after being the player of the way in serieA winning the treble and carrying Netherlands to the world cup finals....Ballon Dor is a joke
This award is given annually. This year - Robert has been on another level. He's actually always been top10 in the past like 5ish years, scoring 40+ goals in all comps, but this time he scored 55 in all comps for Bayern Munich. Neither Ronaldo, nor Messi has been this effective for the club this year. Easy choice.
@Derpster I do agree. By saying top10, I was generalizing it, meaning that he's been up there and should have got the golden ting once or twice. Sadly, french guys think differently.
His biggest strength is how he always finds a way to get himself into scoring positions by his perfect timing, fake runs or subtle movements that help him to be always this millisecond faster than the defender. I mean he's great with the ball but what's really making him special is everything he does before getting the ball. That's how a classic number 9 should play like.
@@brickwall6247 Every player gets hate this is RU-vid not as toxic go on TikTok you will see ''farmers league'' ''tap ins'' although bundesliga is currently best league behind the prem
He definitely deserves it. Really the only reason he hasnt won more awards throughout his career is the same as so many other extremely talented players...they're playing in the era of Messi and Ronaldo who are both on the decline now.
Imagine being 30+ years old and still be some of the best player in the world that's crazy there never been someone like Messi and ronaldo the best of the history considering the longevity of their career
But isn't it all about how Spanish clubs are overhyped (Real, Barca)? And the defieciency of the voting system itself? Of course that journalists from outside Europe would vote for Messi or Ronaldo since those are the only names they recognize (Messi has an additional advantage of being from South America). They definetly don't watch German league. It is obvious that Lewandowski had to win CL with Bayern (or EURO with Poland... so not happening) to get even a slightest chance at competing in this kind of worldwide 'poll'. Ronaldo and Messi could sit on the bench for whole season and they would still do well, out of tradition. Just imagine voting on American Football players in Europe... Or voting on NHL players in Africa and countries without snow & ice. Ridiculous.
Bayern won literally every title there was last year. Lewa shot tons of goals more than Messi or CR7 this season. He might be not the flashiest player, not doing crazy tricks but he is hella efficient. He is a goal scoring machine. He deserves it
You should react to "Unforgettable Moment of the Decade in Football" (20 minutes). I'm not sure what happened but it got split into 2 parts (10 minutes each) couple days ago. It's basically all the highlights from 2010- 2019. The video also has a description of what is happening as well so you know the context!!!
He not only won everything with his team. He was the best scorer in all the tournaments, leading scorer in Bundesliga, Pokal and Lider in goals and ASSITS in the ebst football tournament in the world UEFA Champions league, breaking record in goal/game
7:52 he is 32 years old and is playing on an impressive level for about 9-10 years, but this season was outstanding with numbers ronaldo and messi had in their primes
I don't think any football fan would deny that Lewandowski was the best player in the world last year. There is not even a debate. The only RARE people you will see deny this are completely brainless Messi or Ronaldo fans who think their fav player should be number one every year
he totally deserved it, ronaldo and messi year was not as good as his. He was the best striker last year ronaldo and messi plays on the wing. Even after coming off a bad year ronaldo and messi stats were still not normal and they made the line up of the year. lewandowski is also killing it this year with 18 goals in all competition, ronaldo has 14 goals in all competition and messi with 8.
In soccer terms the Bundesliga (the league Lewandowski plays in) is probably the most exciting. They score more goals per game than most leagues. Also a lot of young American players are giving game time there (Gio Renya, Josh Sargent, etc.). The games are on ESPN+ which is behind a paywall and sucks but you can also get Serie A games (league Ronaldo is in).
this is 100% obvious by mid-December 2020, so obvious in fact that Ballon loses more than the great Robert - the only body that wasn't there for football aficionados in 2020...poor balloon
2018 Ballon D'Or Luka Modric who got ahead of Messi and Ronaldo was much more entertaining to watch.... You should watch "This is Why Luka Modric Was The Midfielder of The Decade"
Great reaction but the video doesn't do him any justice. Seems like someone just put a bunch of random Lewandowski clips together. None of his best goals are on here.
