they could at least had the deadline set to when the star path ends, because its unfair to have a competition that requires objects you need to grind for and have the competition end before you may even have time to get your hands on them. it was really a first come, first serve type of deal. not great :/

I agree completely.. and not all of us are able to play for hours every day to get the items and build the park in such a short turnaround. Most of us have jobs/school and/or children and we can’t be playing for hours all day long. We’re not all video game content creators.

I think this is part of the reason why people don't like Gameloft... Was nobody's fault that no one knew about this sweepstakes or how to do it properly because they didn't properly advertise it. Nobody is going to read that long ass term and conditions. Not even an adult let alone a young child. I don't think it helped at ALL with how they mentioned the sweepstakes on the last sentence of the community challenge post. They're definitely doing us dirty and honestly I'm starting to wonder how much shady shit is going to go down once Full Release hits. I already seen the Sims 4 go downhill. I don't need to see this happen to this game too.

The reason why some regions are not able to participate has to do with the laws in those regions in regards to taxes and also contests. So it wasnt that they wanted to keave people out.

I didn’t even participate in that sweeptake because they constantly keep „forgetting“ that not all of their players are from the US. 💀💀💀 All their prizes so far were only for US citizens. First the customized xBox bundle (Halloween sweeptake) and now the 500$ giftcard for the US shop (where you can not even pick a country outside of the US, because the other countries have their own disney shops where you have to pay with another currency than USD obviously) …. Such a scam… again… *rant over* And btw I love all your videos ♥️🤭

It is so onfair. Why only usa. There are more countries in the world except usa. But a lot of game developers do that. The ps5 limid Edition controller of Hogwarts Legacy could only be shipped to usa or uk. And the rest of the world dont count? Really Mad about that sorry.

But Disney is a big thing in europe (or other continents) too and it would be so cool if we could even get the option to win anything in the future 🙈 but like the girl before already said, it’s not only Disney. I completely agree with what you said in the beginning we love the positives but you are one of the very few reporting on the justified negatives of ddlv and appreciate your hard work to put our voices out there thank you💜 I literally had to check the website TWICE. Even in the terms&conditions it jumps down to the middle of the list so you don’t even see the top point is about the end date of April 26

Some places are excluded because of local laws etc kind of like certain products can’t be bought in California it’s not Disney it’s where you live

I can shed some light on why it wasn't available in some regions. It has to do with laws against gambling. I know that these people weren't putting actual money in for this but some regions have laws against any games of chance where you are not guaranteed to win anything.

I was one of the commenters featured here -- I'm glad to hear you agree!! It really grinds my gears because as you said its as simple as one or two clarifying dates/sentences. Its beneficial for both the community AND the devs to be clear and transparent because it minimizes controversy and work for the social teams. But I am in the minority because I hvae social media experience and I know what to look for...but the general public shouldn't have to be detectives to participate in something that's supposed to be fun and give back to the community making the game what it is today.

I agree very misleading on the date. I was also thinking that the way to enter was hashtags and just photos of the theme park. Was surprised to see that post from DDLV about the winners. At least, if there is a next time we will now know to read the super fine print 😓😪

I'm still upset over the first sweepstakes for the spirit jersey. We never found out any winners (even though it said they wouldn't be announced until like the end of this year?) HOWEVER I have seen a few sponsored streamers wearing one like what the . So yeah already very messy behavior which has me concerned for the longevity of this game.

@saltycat662 I played Magical Kingdoms for 5 yrs before giving up on their "pay or don't win" crap. I went into Dreamlight (& even Speedstorm on a slightly less interested level) I'm aware it will just be a matter of time before they screw up both. Luckily I think Speedstorm is more likely to go downhill faster.

I shrugged this type off. I wasn't going to enter the contest, anyways. My biggest gripe about the game is, they said there was no worry about FOMO, because everything will be obtainable when the game officially releases. We weren't forced to play the beta, nonstop, until release. Yet, they are sending out things that have a time limit to claim before they go away. So, you do miss out on things if you don't play the beta, all the way through. I get so frustrated at game companies that blatantly lie about their game.

Honestly, I don't do this kind of extra stuff for the game. Both of these challenges are extra and unnecessary to play the game. As long as Gameloft keeps updating the game, adding new characters and new content, I don't care about these types of challenges. My opinion isn't a very popular stand on this situation, but the more you do this type of stuff in the game, the more you can get disappointed.

It overall doesn't seem so much shady to me as clumsy. Shady implies that there was something intentional or they have something to gain from being confusing or evasive. The "May 31st" deadline thing is by far the most egregious. They would lose in court on that (lawyer here, and while there are no guarantees, I'm pretty confident about that - plenty of contract/sweepstakes case law out there. Guess their in-house counsel/team is either very bad or, more likely, not properly looped in on messaging)

The game is so excellent and I disagree with so many of the negative comments, but it’s a shame that the rules weren’t clearly stated. The ambiguous writing of the rules was a stupid and needless oversight.

i don't think it was shady so much as lazy and negligent on the part of the advertising team. They would have benefited from more involvement and entries. The more engagement, the more advertisement for them. They gave away the prizes so its not like those Clearance House sweepstakes things were you know there is a low chance of you ever getting a knock on the door and an oversized check. So I don't feel it was nefarious just poorly thought out with no one looking over it before it went out and saying "You know this wording here is confusing." or "Why don't we make the end date the same as the rest of the challenge?" or "We should maybe post the end date to this on the main page."

I am actually surprised that people are surprised by Gameloft sketchy behavior. I have been playing their game Disney Magic Kingdoms for 7 years now and this has been going on for ever. Not to say it’s right at all and people shouldn’t be upset but this company is notorious for this kind of stuff. I knew this going into getting this game. Don’t do twitter and didn’t know about this sweepstakes but would not have participated anyway. Still sorry for all of you out there that did have this happen to you. Just know this will not be the last time with Gameloft. Wish there was another company with Disney.

The point is they should be upfront about the end date of a competition, not hide it in 35 paragraphs of fine print. I’ve never known a sweepstakes to not show the end date on the main page. Also I have way too much to do then go around readying terms and conditions of everything I come across Lmaoo

Mmmmmm... Kind of on the fence with this one. I don't really feel like they did anything wrong, I mean they can't force people to read the rules of entry even though they did have a clear link to it, and they did advertise this across social media and on the dedicated website for the game. Even the community awards received in game mentioned it and said to go to their official website for details, so not entirely sure what else they could have done? You can't account for people just blatantly ignoring the obvious. Apart from excluding 98% of the world from even entering, I can't really understand why people are upset.
