Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and midfielder Rodri faced the media on Tuesday ahead of their side’s UEFA Champions League clash against Inter Milan.
The match - a replay of the 2023 final won 1-0 by City - is the opening game of the new ‘Swiss system’ format which features eight games for each club involved.
City currently sit top of the Premier League with four wins out of four, while Inter are third in Serie A with two wins and two draws from their four outings so far this campaign.
But, a new Champions League campaign forthe club is likely to create a new headache.
For a team like City - expected to go deep into the competition - this is likely to mean more fixtures in an already horribly crowded calendar.
Rodri is key to City's success. But a 70-game season is not attractive to the Spanish midfielder.
And it could get to the point where top players consider strike action - in an effort of self-preservation.
