Players react to Scheffler arrest, Valhalla tragedy | Live From the PGA Championship | Golf Channel 

What happened to Scheffler happened to me once. It was probably my first year in college and one night I was driving around a sharp curve on a back country road and came across several police cars and an ambulance with lights blazing away. I stopped about 30 yards away trying to survey the scene. What I remember clearly was the flares had been set blocking off my lane so the oncoming lane appeared to be open. There were no police directing traffic so, after making sure there were no oncoming cars, I edged into the passing lane and began to go around. I was stopped pretty quickly before I got to the first police car by what I assumed was the officer in charge. I opened my window and he proceeded to chew me out in an uncivil way after I said something to the effect I thought a lane was open (which it was). I quickly realized trying to defend my confusion was only going to upset this officer more and might end up with me getting into trouble so I just sat there and took his insults without reply. I knew he was dealing with what may have been a serious accident (I never heard anything in the papers about it though) and that he was probably embarrassed that his crew hadn't assigned someone to direct traffic, so I chose to take the easy way out and just sat there as directed for the next 30 minutes until I was waved thru. Officers sometimes don't cover all their bases in the moments after an accident and innocent motorists sometimes get confused about what they should do on a dark night with emergency light blazing in their eyes. I'm guessing the charges will be dropped. Everybody and nobody has to take some responsibility under these circumstances.

No more PGA in Louisville!

I’d love to mention that this is the same police force that killed Breonna Taylor. They are power hungry and need to be put in check. Absolutely a tragedy to have a fatality of a golf enthusiast. The police could have handled this much better regardless, and I hope they are reprimanded.

Dude wins 4/5 events, has a baby, comes back after a couple weeks off, starts rd 1 shoots a -4 under 67, goes home and sleeps, wakes up, gets arrested and stretches in a jail cell, comes out for round 2 and shoots a fucking -5under 66 to go -9 under tied for 4th behind a leader who chokes, and a 2nd place player who chokes, and a 3rd place and a share of 4th player who won’t even be in the top 10 tomorrow. If that isn’t a god damn sports legend at it’s finest i’m not sure what could even be considered as such. #1 golfer in the world, nicest human on earth, and then plays like that to be in perfect pouncing position with 2 rounds left after that kind of morning. The guy isn’t just special he’s superhuman. Sunday Scottie is a dangerous man. Lets go Scottie!!! 5for6 with 2 major wins in a month has a nice ring to it 💪🏼

How did someone die??

If anything all golf players vehicles should had been properly identified and escorted by the police or security inside the course. The tournament security personnel should have all the players phone numbers to inform them about any weather changes, incidents or traffic pattern changes due to any incidents.

La Bohéme, to which Scottie replied- it's an opera.

It wouldn’t happen to anyone of you!! Obey the police officers direction and not try to push your way through because of who you are. Scotty probably was acting entitled. Mostly everyone Scotty comes in contact with yields to him and goes out of their way to praise him. He needs to be humble and admit he didn’t handle being told what to do correctly.
