I’ve got 5 turtles and lemme tell you, they are some of the sweetest critters you’ll ever meet. They each have their own unique personalities. Very gentle animals that like to follow you around, play with your feet, and will perk up at the sound of a bag of chips. Couldn’t be happier with my 5 shell babies 🐢❤️

Supah Hakah No, they breathe air just like us. They come to the surface for air. Although, when they sleep underwater they slow down their metabolism and don’t have to breath as often.

My uncle got 2 dime store tortoises in the early 70's had them all the way up till he had kids in the mid 2000's and beyond. 2 turtles he got for 10 cents each lasted almost 40 years

My turtle is now with me for 52 years. My dad bought it when I was 9 and Suzy the turtle was only 1,5 inches big. Now Suzy is 10,5 inches and I think that how big he (I found out decades later that she is a he) will get. He follows you around too and he is defanding his habitat when we have visitors. Suzy starts running, making hissing sounds, towards that person. He can be in the house when I'm at home. My turtle is a Herman's tortoise and he hibernate every year for 5 month.

I was walking to my mother's and I found a turtle in the middle of a road trying to get to a small pound that turtles hang around. I ran into the street grabbed the turtle carried it to the pond. I set it down, and it turned around, looked at me before going into the water. Thank you for triggering that precious memory. I wish you and your turtles the best!!

He's technically correct, *tortoise* can live to 200 years, oldest recorded tortoise is a specimen called Adwaita which is speculated to have lived for more or less 250 years, with some others managed to live until over 180 years old

ive had my turtle Loki for 15 years. He knows his name and recognizes people. He loves to follow everyone. Favorite foods are bananas, grapes, apples, romaine lettuce, and of course fish😋. I snuck him in my backpack and took him to school a couple times. Good memories growing up with him

I too have a turtle like this n he follows my mom everywhere she goes , runs for her, listens to her voice silently , always wants to be cuddled .

I have three turtles. Paaku, Moca and Chino. Paaku is like this. He understands everything and acts and behaves like a dog. So spoiled....always wanted to be pampered.
