I played "Sonic Blast RPG" on a stream a few weeks ago. I'm glad someone else understands how frustrating the timing mechanic is on that game. They give you so little time that you literally have to memorize the button patterns.

But you have to pick a hedgehog character to change the color of. Because there are more hedgehog characters than characters of any other species. (Sonic, Amy, Shadow, Silver, Manic and Sonia and their mother (from Sonic Underground), Sonic's Uncle (from the Sonic Comics) and more listed at info.sonicretro.org/Hedgehog )

C1ff Yeah, I know that there are more "Hedgehogs" in the games and the cartoon, but the thing is that all of their designs is different in some way (but Amy still thinks everyone is Sonic tho) it's not simply a color change. Hell, even Shadow, that is super similar to Sonic, have some differences (spikes pointing upwards, some red stripes...) The first and only time (that I remember) that a new character was simply a color change was Mephiles in Sonic 06, but still was because he took the form from Shadow's... shadow.

Well the majority not Sonic OCs are actually fine but there is still a select few who just recolor a character and call it an OC these are usually much younger fans who probably don't fully know what an OC is

Seeing people give their OCs human names makes me realize very many sonic character names are based on either their physical features or their powers. Silver is literally the color silver, Tails has his tails, Knuckles has his big knuckles, Shadow is shadow colored, Rouge is partly pink and a rogue, Eggman has an egg shaped head... But then again if Sonic fans gave OCs godlike powers and used this naming process they'd probably be naming them OMNIPOTENCE or FIRESTORMBLAST or something so I guess it's better they use human names right ok good
