Playing an Early Build of Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex 

It’s always cool to see games in there early phase of development.

The plane level looks the least changed out of all of them which might explain why the vehicle levels seem so unpolished in the final version. However its understandable because clearly the team were investing time in getting the Wizards and Lizards soundtrack to S tier after this prototype instead.

There was also a prototype where in the third boss battle “Crashes to ashes”, Crash would use the Jeep to run away from Crunch

Wrath Of Cortex needs more love. The music for example is splendid!

It’s interesting to know that Crash’s running animation is the same as the trailer

Fun Fact: The E3 build of this game was completed, 3 Days before *Shrek* was released in theaters. WAIT A MINUTE.... *You have a tall protagonist on a quest, has a Dragon Chase, and defeats an evil midget....*

Love Wrath of Cortex quite a lot. It's really cool to see how things were,..

Forgot to point out at the Game Over screen, that Cortex wears fancy looking tuxedo suit, instead of his lab coat.

I honestly love the floating beads above each warp room! I wish that was in the final game!

damn that floating head of Cortex watching you constantly is pretty creepy lol, i'm happy they removed it from the final version

*The Original Crash 4*

Like how wrath of cortex was the original crash 4 but still cannon love the e3 built i love cut content

Jesus all these differences were present only 4 months before the final release, which shows how much the dev team had to rush the game in between

Holy cow, today has been awesome. Getting to play Crash on the Run 2 days early and seeing Lewis play the early build of WoC? Lethal.

You can actually activate a little cheat/debug menu in this demo by holding down Select, R1, L1, R2 and L2 in the Options menu. It doesn't have a whole lot of options, but it gives you stuff like the extra powerups you'd get in the final build by defeating the Crunch bosses, and the ability to lift yourself up by holding down Triangle.

Imo this Crash is a pretty good game and a good Crash

I think the early name of Wizards and Lizards might be a reference or tease to Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly

I noticed that in the game over screen cortex is wearing some kind of jacket around him and he's not in the final build

If they for some reason remade this game it would be kinda fun if they replaced Dingodille, Tiny, etc with lab assistants dressed up as them instead.

I love seeing cut content alot and this is cool I loved this game with the early builds of stuff it was cool loved this video lewis

Crash bandicoot wrath of cortex was my favourite crash game or crash mind over mutant. I only liked mind over mutant bc my first console was a ps2 and I was very young so that was my favourite game on the console but then I started playing on a game cube and I rly enjoyed wrath of cortex

Yes. I have seen the footage of this build already. Its fascinating how the "Crash N' Burn" was assigned to be "Level 1". But considering how Wrath Of Cortex used to be "Crash Bandicoot Worlds" at first... and "Fire Island" was meant to be a first level... It does make sense. Also... Lewis, do you reckon those masks from the HUB were removed due to the game having hard time loading?! EDIT: Also... "Enter The Dragon....Fly" I feel like that was some sinister foreshadowing of things to come.

I'd love to see the prototype of Crash Twinsanity, see some cut content, and levels that weren't on the final version.

Yo just a reminder new crash on the run is coming out from the 25 of march to the end of March because in the Appstore it says expected march 25th

How is it that I've never seen the game over screen, when I saw it I thought it was cut content but no, I've gone 20 years without ever seeing it.

You should try the Twinsanity prototype, technically it has the whole game but it's very unstable and prone to crashes. Also, the difficulty seems a bit higher.
