I played an iconic Pokemon TCG match vs one of the best players who used the deck, Andrew Mahone from Tricky Gym! We replayed Andrews iconic battle against Sam Chen from the 2017 North American International Championships, to see if Andrew would be able to best that matchup if given another chance! Soooo sick. I got back into the game in 2015 after being out since 2003, and spent 2016 learning how to become a better player. 2017 is what I consider my first “competitive” season, so I’m ALWAYS stoked when you guys do 2017 NAIC stuff.

Oh my god this was THE best format. I started playing right before Sun&Moon came out and the first deck i had was Greninja Break before the fall rotation. After that i picked up Drampa Garb and i had the most amazing experience playing in tournaments and traveling to London for the European Championships with friends back in 2017. Had such an amazing year playing this game. Unfortunately after that they began power creeping the fuck out of Pokemon with the Tag teams etc. and i just lost interest. Haven't played Pokemon for a long time but if they ever were to make a format similar to this as far as game speed and deck variety goes, i would 100% pick this game up again. Glad to see you featuring this format Chip! Was a fun trip down memory lane for sure. :)
