I understand that feeling Apex. There are many times in which you perhaps lose a couple in a row, and you decide to stop playing for the day so as to avoid keep losing ELO and your temper. But at the same time, there's a voice inside you telling you to play just one more to see if you win and end the day feeling better. Problem is that that's one heck of a double-edged sword.

Tough ones, especially that first one. I know the feeling of having a crushing position and then blundering mate.

I was 1600 playing the caro kann and also got frustrated aswell, but then one day, I thought, why not study some scilian theory, and I did for some time, and got more elo with a 71% win rate with najdorf scilian. I use to think I have to be a grandmaster to play the scilian defense, but i just started studying theory and won my games.

Calculate well before moving,at 23:21 you had a chance to win a pawn or maybe two by taking the pawn on C3 after which you are also protecting your knight and also threatening to take another pawn with your bishop and attacking the undefended knight.

You know what's crazy? (Very weird but hear me out, or not, its crazy to me) For months while watching this series I've had this recurring mental image of you hitting your desk after throwing or blundering, and every time i would think "why do i keep seeing this image? He's never done that." 🤔 Well holy shit it happened (Tbh I think it's simply that your setup or appearance ressembles a famous clip of a streamer hitting their desk but still, insane that it actually "came true" lol)

something that is super beneficial for me, but also extremly hard to pull off is to disregard elo and just play as much as possible. Ive noticed that i improve much faster when i dont care about elo. In the start its often slow and i loose alot but then i finnaly get higher
@ApexChesss
@ApexChesss 5 месяцев назад
Yeah definitely disregarding the Elo is a great mindset to have and I do an okay job of that but it's differently extra hard when you have a channel posting content every day. I used to play way more but I actually think playing less has been what's gotten me to where I am now. I feel I can only play at my full potential for so many games and then I'm kind of just burnt out

I got to 2000 elo over the board in about 18 months Get chess puzzles Pheska is best and do them BUT do the same puzzles over and over, the theory is if you can`t solve a puzzle you did yesterday then its not in your subconscious, eventually you will be solving these puzzles in about a second and you can do hundreds in a hour, as this happens your tactics will improve enormously.

@@ApexChesss10 minute used to be considered Blitz. I appreciate the longer time controls for better more interesting games. I think it helps a person get better at chess faster than playing faster time controls. I would even be willing to put money on the idea that ApexChesss will reach 2000 elo before Kiwi simply because of time controls used.

U could've won a knight or a rook... u didn't realize that coz u only analyze blunders and misses and not mistakes and inaccuracies... on 24:15 u had Bb2

I saw that too! He had 15 minutes on his clock at that point and took only a few seconds to take in the position
