Have you tried some hybrid rubbers and how they compare to boosted hurricane? I am an adult beginner level player that tried unboosted DHS hurricane 3 neo commercial for four months on a Stiga Offensive Classic and I found it really hard to play with. But, I am theorizing that my technique developed well with this equipment. When I tried Yasaka Rakza Z it was like a dream to play with. Maybe my experience was just the feeling of the contrast itself? I have limited time and I cant spend 3 months trying each and every configuration and what effects it has on my technique, so I have kept playing with Rakza Z. I have since changed my blade to a similar one, the Avalox P500, which feels more stable and consistent than Stiga OC. It seems like chaning to a slower rubber on my backhand, Yasaka Mark V, has also helped my backhand technique.

Stiga Offensive Classic is VERY thin (5.1mm) to play with plastic ball and unboosted hurricane 3...you had better experience with Avalox P500 because it's slightly thicker (5.7mm). My personal opinion is that 6mm is minimum for 5 ply wooden blade and current plastic ball, if you want to have more stability in your stroke. Rakza Z/Mark V/P500 are a great choice, stick with it for year or two until you develop decent stroke mechanics.

@@brieftabletennisequipmentr1579 Yea, I found the slight change in thickness give a lot of stability and my backhand started to get better instantly becasue I hit the ball further out on the blade on the backhand side where the flexibility has a larger effect. The flexible Stiga Offensive Classic did make it easy to learn the opening forehand loop, thought. Right now, I am more comfortable with doing the first topspin with the backhand, oddly enough, even vs. heavy backspin. I was considering going back to H3 on forehand to get the speed down now that I have a slightly faster blade and maybe that will make me more confident on the forehand again in match situations. Thanks!
