If a guy has a guitar that looks like this, you know that he doesn’t have a gf and has never played standing up. Hendrix didn’t play sitting down like he’s on a toilet. 😂😂😂😂
Not to take anything away from the guy. But if you play a guitar and DONT play this good, you have some explaining to do. He lived up to it though. It looks like it's melting into his body and it sounds like it too
there are some others: strandberg, tosin abasi's guitars, steve klein's been at it 50 years. that said, this design seems particularly successful. i think to get something that fits your body this well, it probably has to be designed for you specifically. time to grab some cardboard, find a shape you like, then mock it up in cheap wood and bolt on a dirt cheap squier neck. experiment until its perfect for you.
@@acatnamedjoex4688 i think a guitar like this at least gives you the best chance to avoid injury. for insanely technical stuff like this where you have look at the fretboard the entire time, you don't really have any good options to keep your back straight. tapping doesnt help either since it pulls your right shoulder forward. if you look at the posture of professional classical players, who often use supports or stools, they usually don't slouch like this, even for the more technical pieces in their repertoire. it's possible to have great poture, but most of the time you need to compromise because the guitar is just awkward and not easy to hold.
Reminds me of one of the top comments on this vid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zPkH0lstqls.html Things depend on context and in these contexts the guitar shape totally makes sense, as does Antti's vocal style.
I was thinking I would like to have a bass that looks like that. I play pretty equally sitting and standing. A lot of times I need to stand though because I need to like jam and rock out
only when sitting down man. as soon as he stands up, you pay back everything you gained while sitting down with the added weight, bulkiness and looks.. on top of that this thing looks like a regular guitar got late stage cancer, absolutely hideous. a failed concept IMO.
talking about design.....i was thinking for 5 secs about this and it is clear that the better solution is a more regular and nice looking guitar and just add a click-on part that is shaped like the bottom part here. once you stand up, remove the part and off you go. that way you have the best of both worlds and your instrument does't looks like it got out of a freakshow

Epitaph is an almost 33 minutes long album, of which 8 minutes are just guitar solos. Love that! Also love the very clean execution here, with nothing to hide behind. Major props!
Dude… May your talent take you down any roads that come your way. Whether it be huge concerts and album sales or just the sheer enjoyment of playing. Here’s to your future!
I have listened to Epitaph so many times that I can hear every single instrument under these solos. Edit: Someone else also pointed this out in the comments. Also, this video is 8 min give or take, Epitaph is about 33, so that means that about 20% of the album is solos. And every single note serves a purpose; a perfect video, to highlight a perfect album.
the caMera is on a tripod so it would be easy to mask out the sped up clock and use that part of the frame at normal speed. The reason it sounds insanely perfect in terms of timing and the physics (hair, muscle movement) look unnatural is because thats exactly what he did. You can also see weird video artifacts from whatever smoothing/blend effect he used (watch his nose/face and youll see this when he moves his head) which helps offset the uncanny valley aspect of the sped up motion.
@@Justmemyguy It actually sits perfectly when using a strap standing up. I have a video of me on my channel playing it while standing. I designed and built the guitar for ergonomics.
@@Justmemyguy Does kind of get a little in the way of you are the type to walk around and bend your torso on stage, dance a little etc but don't think that is a main concern here.
Exceptional. Dry signal, no backing track, no fuckery... lovely to listen to and makes you want to practice... your phrasing is on point for M. Suiçmez.
Respect, good job! In an interview, Ex Necrophagist Guitarist Christian Münzner stated, that Muhammed was so good, that you could have woken him up at 3 o'clock in the night and he would have ripped through the Necrophagist Solos with ease in a studio recording like quality. i believe this video comes close!
I've listened to Epitaph a hundred times and I'm a bassist. With the sound so clean I can't avoid hearing the bass in my mind during all the solos. This is so much fun!!
Incredible, one take, no background track, WITH METRONOME! That guitar shape is because she melts down little bit every flawless Necrophagist's solo. great job!!
I remember seeing them on tour with Summer Slaughter a little while after this album came out. They headlined, and as they began playing their first song the entire crowd formed a gigantic empty circle in the middle of the floor and as I looked around it became clear that nobody was moshing, nobody was even bobbing their head to the music. We were all just standing there in awe. This is a fine tribute - I'm curious what some of your own compositions sound like.
This absolutely insane and beautiful. Found myself headbanging, without the rest of the song there. Gave me goosebumps throughout. You don't just know the solos, you feel, and empathize the solos. Truly amazing.
Im so proud of you dude. this is so well done, gives me hope for the future. any way to get ahold of you, id love to have a chat. as a super longtime necrophagist fan, this is a breath of fresh air
Muhammad is such a beast, but people tend to forget Christian's absolutely immaculate playing on this album as well. I think he deserves alot of credit as well.
"My guitar doesn't have a tremolo, so I play the tremolo parts with bends", oh ok dude we're gonna let that slide 🤣 Even the metronome doesn't understand what to do... Incredible playing, flawless from start to finish. Suicmez would be proud. Thank you for keeping the Necrophagist flame alive
Holy shit man. I’ve been a metal guitarist for about 16 years and I don’t think most people realize what an unfathomable level of skill this takes. This is beyond impressive and Epitaph is one of my fav albums of all time. I couldn’t give you enough praise. Absolutely amazing dude
YOU.,SIR ARE A VIRTUOSO'S-VIRTUOSO....MY GOD YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL... I HAVE REPEATEDLY REPEATEDLY REPEATEDLY REPEATEDLY REPEATEDLY REPEATEDLY REPEATEDLY REPEATEDLY WATCHED THIS VIDEO..
The masses were not ready for Necrophagist back then. And they'll probably never be. But thankfully I was in the tech death loop and am forever grateful to have had my ears blessed by Muhammed and the rest of the bands skill, let alone their approach on what I considered to be music. I remember reading somewhere that he works at a foreign car manufacturing facility. (correct me if I'm wrong) Dude is a fucking legend.
For all the ppl talking about him sitting while playing.. what if this guy started playing when he was a kid, always played in his room, never in a band, but only done it for his enjoyment and love of music... now lets imagine that hes a well renowned guitar teacher and makes $100,000 a year just by sitting giving lessons on the guitar... what need would there ever b to stand while playing???
Every solo from that album in one take, what an incredible idea! I love the clock in the background for proof. Awesome playing except for that one bend at... nah, jk! That was awesome to watch!
ur fuckin sick! emulating a trem with bends, really clean picking, very clear note ring. i just noticed youre using active pups with the bridge position activated and no fretwrap.... dude.
I dont understand how you (and others) get such precision pick-hand taps in the middle of your insanely fast sweeps - i practiced some of these songs forever, especially the mid-sweep tapping and that has always been my Achilles heel....... this performance was 99% spot-on, kudos dude 🤘☠️🤘
A fellow KIWI! Awesome playing, extremely impressive! :) I saw that article about you making your own guitars. Really cool design! Can't beat the ergonomics of a guitar made exactly for you. Love it :)
It really is man. I've been playing for 20 years, about 8 of which have been me really focusing on technique. And I can still barely play the intro the Only Ash Remains. It is beyond me how he did this. Like, this is legitimately a generational talent sort of thing here.
Stunmded. ._. amazing playing. Amazing hentai guitar. Amazing time keeping. Amazing vascular hulk quality guitar picking. You got them Malmsteen hands. Got that classical music teacher relaxedness. 10,000/10
Hows this absolute champion???!!! This is one monumental task and to just run off the click and throw down like that is just a total pleasure to see. And I might be tripping here, but the redness in his hands reminds me of an old mate who's very similar to this dude (like frighteningly) and he had the flushed face and hands, found out he had heart issues and needed surgery... So I'm hoping this bloke had either just finished doing the dishes in a hot sink prior to doing this video and isn't floating toward something like Supra Ventricular Tachycardia. I sincerely hope it's the former, because this man is utterly epic! Ah bugger it, ya know what? That redness in his hands might just be because his chops are so damn hot! I hope this dude lives to 120 and plays every single day of it. The dude is a friggin' gift.
you know it is a quality instrument when you shred and bend like that 8:30 minutes straight and it’s still in tune by the end. congrats on everything dude!
