I agree with the above comment whole heartedly. We make a life in music and making a living can sometimes be secondary. As an old pro on the downside of my "career ark" I can say with some certainty that everyone I've known who does their creativity for the right reasons has their time. The trick is to know when that time is happening. Ego can get in the way, always looking past the present to find the next great conquest or reward just over the perceived horizon. Let the time be the reward and stay in it as long as you're there. Everyday you play you'll change someone, something, somewhere and if that can be your intention, it will also be your reward.
