"Opera is grand. Opera is big, and opera tells epic stories traditionally, and the journey of Malcolm X's life is as epic of a story as anyone that I think is in the traditional repertoire."
Kenneth Kellogg, who plays Malcolm X in our upcoming production of X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X, talks about why telling Malcolm X's story as an opera can change our understanding of him, and important aspects of this historic leader we might come away with after the curtain closes.
X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X opens February 24 and runs through March 9 at McCaw Hall.
