Dylan Cease is a professional baseball pitcher for the Chicago White Sox. Pretty awesome to have him visit Maple Hill for the first time! He says disc golf is his number one favorite hobby so of course Casey and I had to show him what Maple Hill is all about. Great guy and with a few tweaks in his backhand form, he'll be crushing discs very soon!

This is just so cool to see Cease end up being in one of Simon's videos. On top of loving disc golf I love the White Sox, I remember being at a game where he was starting pitcher and his "fun fact" or hobby other than baseball was disc golf! Love seeing two things I love collide, hoping for another great season with a longer playoff run next year, good luck Cease!

As a baseball player just getting into Discgolf, I have learned more about the discs and forms of throwing and I have realized I can chuck these discs with the right type of movements and disc types. Awesome sport

Dylan came out to our local glow league in the Chicago south suburbs two weeks ago. Even though i'm a cubs fan it was cool to see him come out and interact with the community. seems like a genuinely nice guy.

Strange, on hole 1 drives, what I really noticed was the SOUND of the footwork. Simon & Casey, so quiet, controlled, efficient. The rest of us sliding around a lot more, trying to get more power pumped into the shot. I feel like there's a lesson here.

gold hole 1 is truly intimidating from the tee. I've only done it once, but I shanked something awful. I played blue the 2nd time and did much better. I will be thinking of your comment when I go back in a couple weeks to try again. good observation.

There are so many good courses in Illinois that Dylan can play! I live close to Delwood Park in Lockport which is a beautiful course. Dylan seems like a chill guy too and he plays for the better Chicago team! Go south side!

Six degrees of separation? I have Dylan Cease on my best fantasy baseball keeper league team, and Simon actually took the time two years ago to respond to a question I had about which weighted discs I should buy as a beginner player when I was living in Thailand. I still have those discs now, Simon, and I am actually helping to try and build the sport here in Ethiopia. Thanks for all that you do!

I would love having those Lil tips your taking about Simon. I have a baseball background also and forehand is more comfortable but any tips for the back hand as far as form and getting distance with less effort would be the best present in the world!

We had the privilege to attend the MVP Open in September, so now it’s extra cool seeing any videos from Maple Hill. (Does the dog actually grab the discs?!? She’s living her best life, but I’m distracted watching the throws every time thinking she’s going to get hit. 🙈)

#DylanCease is an amazing starting pitcher, and the ChiSox post-season accomplishment this year was, in a large part, thanks to his pitching. MLB fans recognize Cease as one of the up-and-coming future All-Stars. ⚾️

I've always been a righty in everything but I've always thrown a frisbee left handed and it never made sense to me. It wasn't until talking to people as I started playing Disc Golf that I realized a LHBH motion is nearly identical to a righty's baseball swing so that's why it always felt natural to me.
