We just got a Yukon with this same entertainment package. Streaming doesn’t work at all and the adapters to make iPhones work are a waste of money too. We bought a non 4K Amazon firestick for $30 and it works perfectly. Netflix, RU-vid it’s all available. You just have to plug it into the HDMI and the power outlet and it’s good to go.
@@adrianaponce5 it’s just the in-vehicle wifi. Hooked up the fire stick to the Yukon’s wifi and it works fine. iPhones do not mirror to the screens. The guy in this video can’t even get it to work.
Hi, great video review brother! I have a question, but before I forget to tell you I read miracast works only on Android phones. Ok so if I buy a suburban lt from the lot can I add this to my purchase price and have it installed at the dealer. I’m getting mixed answers from my local dealer. Not too many LTs out there with this option sitting in the lots. Thank you very much for your answer 😊
Great review. Just ordered our Suburban w/ rear entertainment last night (and so my wait begins). Does the USB source pull from the rear center console USB-C plugs only or can it source from any of the USB ports/SD slot in the front/in the console?
From my understanding it pulls only from the rear entertainment console. The USB C ports in the front are just charging ports not data ports! Thanks for checking out the video, Joseph!
I just ordered mine too, I'm a little worried, saw reviews on GM site saying the screens kept having connection and sound issues while driving and was frustrating for kids to watch. I still can't believe there is no Blu-ray for dependable play if in the middle of no service...
@@sranch5702 Lets hope as they come out into the wild those outliers start to fade out. All our movies are digital and stored on a thumb drive. It worked flawlessly in our 2017 Pacifica. Hoping the same holds true for the Suburban
I got my car a week ago. The front and rear ports both work for connecting a external hard drive for watching movies. I used almost the same drive he showed in the video, but where he had the Samsung T5, I have the T7. It works great. The trick is the drive will come formatted as "exFat" and you need to reformat it as "NTFS" for the vehicle to recognize it.
We got ours back in October. My only complaint with this process is that I can’t group my media into folders...even if I partition the drive. My solution was to get a small usb hub and a handful of tiny sandisk thumb drives. One for movies, one for tv shows.
Also why did you grab the entire Nintendo switch console? Can’t i just grab the handheld and connect it via USB? Kind of a hassle to unplug our Nintendo console every time
So it doesn’t have a dvd or blu-ray? Bummer as this seams to be a lot to get video for the long car ride. Was so looking forward to Chevy finally making a system work.
We used Handbrake to rip dvd's that we own to digital format and then upload them to a Samsung T7 external drive. Make sure to reformat the drive from "exFat" to "NTFS" before loading the drive with your files. No more fumbling around with DVD's in the car and the kids can switch movies at their leisure. A little work upfront to get your movies ripped digitally, but well worth it long term.
Are you using an Apple phone? You have to buy the Apple hdmi adapter to lighting cable. Then you plug the HDMI in both hdmi connections and you should be able to mirror your phone. Apple does not have Mira cast, the have AirPlay.
Awesome video bud. I have a few questions: I see the screens tilt, can they also raise up and down? I ask because as a father of 4, I feel that the biggest flaw with these is that it feels that the kids sitting in the 3rd row are not going to have a good viewing angle. And typically the smaller kids sit in the back which makes it even harder to see for them. I can picture the kids fighting for who sits in the 2nd row.. how is the viewing angle from the 3rd row? I wish they had a 4 monitor option. Also, if we're streaming, does the wifi package u pay for unlimited? Because watching movies on here on road trips seems like it'll get very expensive as it'll suck up so much data.. they should have left a bluray drive like before. Even if it's through a forestick or whatever. It still needs data to work. Does only switch work? Or will a ps4 or a ps5 work aswell?
Thank you! The screens do not slide up and down unfortunately. And I would say viewing angle from the third row would depend on how big the kids are sitting in the second row. The wifi package is not unlimited it’s usually limited to 20Gbs Any slim console will work, so PS4 slim, Xbox one s, or switch
I have a new Samsung galaxy tablet I purchased just so I could try and play Netflix movies or any movies and I've tried everything and I still can't get miracast to work or even connect through USB c drive I'm beyond frustrated I've tried everything and can't get my TVs to play any videos or even connect the only thing that works is a DVD player sliding around in the back..... which I don't want
I have the 2021 Yukon and can’t stand these TVs. I wish I had just gotten the Yukon without them. I finally go so frustrated and hooked up a Blu-ray player too. And with three little grandkids it turned into a mess. I’ve had this Yukon for 6 months and one screen already has a crack and stays in all the time and flickers. So I have to pay to have that replaced. Bc one of the littles put his foot on the bottom of the screen while trying to push back in his car seat. These things are a joke
