@@tenparsecs914 had to get one secondhand because i dont think they're in production anymore. It has a few scuffs on it but nothing too serious and it shows character i guess lol. It cost me around 500 pounds ($700 ish) and i saved up for months for it haha. well worth it though. Id say get one from ebay or reverb although if you can find any in great condition then id go for them. Its a Fender Jaguar Blacktop HH.

Holy shit, thank you so much for all this Her's work, I've just been flicking through all your videos and it's crazy how many you've got through in only a month. I read in another that you said you'd only been playing for 2.5-3 years?! I'm new learning myself, but know a reasonable amount of theory from piano. Would you care to share how you learnt (self taught?), what sort of exercises you did etc? Looking at some of these Her's songs they're far out of my depth for a beginner atm, but I'd like to build up to them and your tutorials have really given me a target to aim for. Thanks again, and looking forward to future stuff! You've really motivated me. Glad the Her's legacy is still going
I’m self taught. When I first picked up a classical/nylon stringed guitar, I started to learn classical Spanish songs from a book my dad had when he was younger. So that really helped me with the fingerpicking part. After that I got into electric guitar and was wanting to play more of the bedroom pop, smooth, soft, and relaxing side of the guitar. So I learned a lot of the smooth bedroom pop indie chords. From playing them so often and learning different songs in that genre, I began to memorize them. I then discovered her’s and was amazed with their work. Turns out most of the chords they used were the chords I had already learned from playing this genre of music. (besides their tough chords they would throw in lol). But if you want to work up to their songs, I’d say to learn indie/bedroom pop songs on guitar cause her’s really did use a looott of those same chords. The songs don’t have to be hard. I know that helped me. But learn as many chords as you can. That way when you learn her’s songs, you’ll be able to recognize the chords and play them with ease. I’m glad I’ve motivated you to play. Guitar really is a fine instrument that Stephen perfected. Hope this helped.

I like the point about Spanish songs and fingerpicking, might throw a few in as well but will take the advice to try and pick up as many indie pieces as possible. Thank you. Hmm I’m not too sure because all the artists that I would like to make a tutorial and cover, already have one. So for now I’m just messing around with these her’s songs
