Playing Spore as an Actual Plant

I'm kinda disappointed you didn't leave the game running for a couple hours without moving the mouse until you randomly encountered enough food to proceed. You know, like a plant.

Well, carnivorous plants are a thing, moving single-celled plants are a thing... So, this run is quite accurate

I loved playing as carnivore plants in Spore when I was a child :D Because I couldn't think of anything else to use the leaves body parts for lol

Plants are actually omnivores, they "eat" anything, they eat meat, and plants, plants know what you did, don't trust that little cactus near the bathroom window.

Your social score is multiplied by your pack mates, but so are the other creatures. Just try to get them alone or push them away from their nest and you will only need a social of 2 in each category to befriend anyone.

I find plants respond best to folk metal bands like Korpiklaani, and are particularly fond of their songs "With trees", "Pine woods" and "Under the sun", amoungst others naturally.

I think going green for the last two stages would be a great choice since it makes you an ecologist, which gives the incredibly useful and flavorful safari vacuum. With that, you can easily terraform space stage planets without having to spend forever picking up different plants. You could get a bunch of T-score 3 planets with only plants on them, since not having animals still stabilizes the score. Alternatively you could choose blue and green, which would give the bard consequence. Not as good as ecologist, but still a flavorful choice.

I do like the idea of sentient plants. Probably because when I played Sim Earth, you couldn't just place down Carniferns, you had to place down enough insects for them to spawn. Then you could make them sentient. Funnily enough though, not big on the idea of sentient trees. It's gotta be flowers or grass or shrubberies. Or of course the whole Carniferns thing with pitcher plants or Venus Flytraps.

I always go Carnivore > Aggressive / Extinction > Peaceful > Commercial.. Basically Red > Red > Green > Blue is how I progress through the stages.. I don't care a whole lot about the Knight's ability to summon a friendly fighter of your species, but the bonuses from each stage is very nice.. Also, only the player generated species will ever be capable of being Knight archetype..

for future reference, you can tame an animal in spore as a tribal stage and get infinite eggs for food if you're struggling I almost always do that with my carnivorous and omnivorous creatures

But the question is, did your plants get their chloro-fill?

Plants do use decomposing plants as a form of nutrients, so a Venus Flytrap (Dionaea Muscipula) could be an omnivore.

The "plants have feelings too, y'know!" line reminded me about something I read. Plants *can* tell their own young apart from other seedlings of the same species. Redwood trees have been documented to identify their own seedlings and link roots with them to give them a better chance in the harsh ecosystem by sharing nutrients!

Playing music to plants is interesting 🤔 playing classical music seems to be the best for plants, what happens when you play Kpop, Country, or Hard Rock to s plant?

Plants are cool. They can actually tell their family members from non-family members. They will grow their roots away from family so they don't compete, but will "fight" for space with the roots of non-family members.

So basically you're a green animal that identifies as a plant
