I fell thorns gadget is more like a pressuring toll to make them push quickly or fall back. Other good things about it is plant denial, comboing well with slowing ops like ela, melusi and clash, the distinct sound of it, the ability to be placed anywhere, and more that i forgot abt while writing. Edit: this would sound like it works great on stairs because of the wide area coverage and a bit of coverage from the steps.
"push quickly" if Monty can walk through barbed wire with his shield up and not get hit by the RBS, how is it gonna encourage pushing? They don't even have to be quick. This is like a less visible but more detectable (bc electronic) frost mat, with potential for a higher reward but it's so easy to avoid in it's current state, the time is way too long.
@@gracelandtoo6240 It either forces them to find it and shoot it out or it pushes them out of a strong position potentially getting them shot. Also it's a free nitro kill if they sitting there trying to shoot it out.
Their old UI ran on flash, apparently. They've made a new UI kit and are switching everything over to that to improve customization, increase responsiveness, and make it easier to work with.
be honest tho the new UI is more informative. now you can check gadget and secondary ammo status without having to waste time switching to them but i do agree that the ever-present drop defuser popup is annoying as heck. also think that the UI style is too sanitized, that it could use some style.
@@Wolvenworks Its ok to have a better UI but I think eventually there is a time when there isn't a need to change it anymore. Especially when they could use the time they take to make a new UI to actually balance the game and fix bugs.
I imagine the new operator to be like a “voluntary nomad”. Basically you can put it in a spot, where after it activating, the enemy will be forced to push forwards to an angle you are holding, or will have to shoot it, leaving him exposed. So yeah, its pretty bad, it does need a serious buff, but there can still be some good plays with it, possibly…
@@mechatengu7368 you have to put yourself in a riskier position to do that with those operators, they aren't set and forget plant denial like Thorn is but they are better operators
Right? If a deployed Monty is just able to walk through not one but two barbed wires completely unscathed by the new gadget, then how is it ever supposed to do anything?
Please tell me that new UI isn’t guaranteed to be coming because woof it’s bad. Like why does Ubi need to change the UI almost every season? It’s getting pretty annoying at this point.
@@OMDolton84 It’s WAY too much info and absolutely fills the screen with so much unnecessary clutter. When it comes to UI, especially in a competitive game like Siege, minimal is always better. Like why do I need to see how much ammo is in my secondary when I’m not using it? Why do I need a giant compass at the bottom of my screen that I guarantee is just going to get in the way and obstruct my view?
not a big fan of the new compass, but the other ui changes look decent. lets see what they're going to do with her gadget but for now i'm definitly looking forward to the new season!
Imo if the op is mediocre or even bad, I'm fine with it cause : 1. People may use him/her less so I can easily pick if I want to 2. Less chance to get nerfed(looking at you Ubi) and possibly enjoy a buff
I think it’s use would be really good when paired with like ela or melusi. It could also be good for funneling operators. If the enemy pushes the room, they either have to un ads and push forward, easy kill, or un ads and run away, (easy kill again if you get them before they reach cover) It sucks as a gadget in terms of pure killing potential, but I feel like making creative plays with it isn’t impossible
It’s nice to see someone else see the hilarity of giving an Irish operator a literal bomb… I feel like if it were any more on the nose they’d strap a sign to her back saying “NOT IN THE IRA”
You have to be joking, theres no way your excited for a stupid background customisation feature while not even mention the only two pieces of content in the entire reveal, the new operator and the outback rework.
New season looks good! Dont agree with the whole UI change, I get what they wanted to do but it needs to change a little bit before launch. Like the changes and new op and map rework. I would love to see some more content tho. Love the video Kini!
it honestly feels like a stolen season, i thought the final season of the year would bring the big attacker buff changes to balance out both sides so that the game wouldn't feel so defender sided. but it just seems like this entire season consists of an outback rework, a new operator and a hud rework very little to be excited about like at this point just release drone after death just because its new gameplay content, i don't care that it isnt balanced or finished, give us something!
Really need to lower that activation time cuz it needs to be a more afraid operator instead of just being an gadget u can easily walk by with little preparation cuz with ela and kapkan its immediately activated but not thorn
My strategy is to use thorn shield on door and have someone else put barbed wire, Melusi’s, frost mats or anything that slows behind it. Place the razor shell over the door frame. If possible I try to have ela place her mines in the same place as mine so the slow effect gives it a chance to hit the enemy. With all that pressure they have no choice once they come under fire as they either die trying to escape the explosion or escaping one of the defenders
So let me get this right. Finka can now revive herself, but they disabled this option for zofia? Or they didin't disable zofia self revire? I'm little bit confused.
Basically, Zofia only had it because it was a lore thing and it wasn't a part of her gadget. Finka's getting it as a part of her gadget rather than some weird lore quirk.
Zofia's self revive (aka withstand) was a passive, but finka uses her primary gadget. Zofia's withstand was broken and had no reason to exist, but finka's actually makes sense and isn't broken.
@@OMDolton84 But still it kinda stupid to disable Zofia's self revive. I think it makes character more fun and unique. But well I'm not a r6 dev, so maybe I don't understand something
This gadget needs a buff, or even a complete rework imo, this is very disappointing and for the moment the worst new operator since they started to release only one per season
Yeah, that's what we needed, more traps. (inb4 "it's bad". lmao, it's a oneshot throwable in a game where defenders have 20 ways of slowing attackers down) And the only good thing about the new ui is the compass, that's actually kinda nice.
It's ´not cool too see how Rainbow gets a downgrade by every season. The game might changed a lot, but just look at year 2 or smh, this ain't tactical no more and it's not the Rainbow it was
Yeah lmao I was watching clips I had from when I started playing all the way back in S2 I believe, when valk and BB came out. The graphics then were beautiful. Compared to now that it literally feels like a mobile game. They turned the game to shit in the name of competitiveness and lost 90% of the player base that only played casually for fun, rather than to sweat.
This was my problem with the thunderbird operation too: They add a lot of shit that nobody asked for and isn't godd or useful but they still do it. To me, this makes the game worse just because of the fact the the developers don't liten that much to the community imo
How much do yall wanna bet Macie Jay is gonna come out with a video all about how good and underated Thorn's gadget is and its going to have galaxy brain fucking plays in it
Other than the Compass, and the Spectator Screen, I'm a huge fan of the new UI (if you think it looks a bit cluttered, remember that you can disable some of the HUD elements in the settings) If you don't like it though, I totally understand, this is just my opinion
The gadget deffo needs a buff on activation time, it's too slow. The Outback changes, we'll see how f'd up the map is. Since they F'd up Favela so far people still have trouble with it due to game sense being off for almost entire season since they launched it.
It should detonate faster, but you should be able to prone to avoid lethal damage. If you are unsure whether or not you can target and destroy it before it detonates, you can choose to prone at the cost of losing health (say 50 or so). In this scenario forcing enemies to prone can lead to exploitable situations for Thorn.
Apparently the pinkie out is a new addition. Older pics of ela in the side pose have her pinkie on the gun which means Ubi was like, "How do we spice up this season? ...pinky finger"
nah it's not new with High Caliber, been this way since at least CG but probably NS, since I don't remember it ever being different from how it is now and I only started playing in North Star.
@@gracelandtoo6240 Yeah, let me clarify, idk when it was added, but older shots of her character selection don't have that so it hasn't always been there at least. So maybe new isn't the best word, but it was changed just sometime ago
I thin what ubi was going for was a deterrent from sitting in one spot holding an angle. Think of common places attackers can hold and wait for movement, this forces them to run away and take their attention off the doorway/corner etc
