I watched a bit of your earlier videos, and now starting this to hold me over while I impatiently wait for my copy to be delivered. Wanted to say thank you for all the content, and especially thank you for reducing the music volume on this video!
I just wanted to thank you for sweetening the waiting time for my copy (which is on the way, wohoo!). You have improved from video to video and it is just a joy to watch you play the game!
Those kind words mean way more than you know. Thankyou so much ☺️ I'm excited for you to get your copy, so many people are finally having fun with this amazing board game. I have exactly zero issues with the sleeves, I wish I had some for the relics and potions however. (I did order some blank ones to fit those today so hopefully that works out)
@@Kangorth Glad to here that you haven't faced any issues with the sleeves so far. Keep up the good work! Oh, and have a nice wedding. All the best to you and your future wife!
For real, that's awesome if so. Free strength baby! I guess it doesn't matter since invincible caps damage until turn 5 anyway but it's still good to know!
I listen to your videos on my drive to/from work. Been really enjoying them just as something to listen to! With that in mind, a selfish request: could you read out the name of all the cards in your card choices? You usually do but sometimes i need to peek at my phone to see what your card choices are
Absolutely, I'll make a better effort to do so in the future, however the next video had already been filmed. I've started doing it a little more anyway since the video resolution isn't the best but I didn't think about audio so I appreciate the feedback ❤️❤️ glad you have been enjoying the vids 😊
1:56:38 the summons of an elite always go to the left of it (unless the elite itself states different). This can make a difference here because the red slaver could make you vulnerable before the elite hits.
Ah. You are correct except in this case. It's too hard to read in the video but at the bottom of the red slaver card it reads 'the red slaver acts last'. Good catch though!
Why do you dislike frost orbs in the board game? Edit: Rainbow is one of those cards where if you want to be using a lot of orbs quickly it can do that for you better than most cards in the game. Think of it in a deck that wants to evoke orbs quickly (maybe with consume and amplify in play), and it can do some absurd damage very quickly. Throw an echo form in there and honey you've got a stew going!
Oh, it's that they only evoke for 1 block. I feel like evoking should be stronger than the end of turn effect. 2 might be too strong but it just feels a bit lame to get the same effect as end of turn. I'm sure I'll get convinced otherwise. Rainbow is better than I make out. Especially since you can choose what orbs are replaced unlike the video game. Rainbow with echo form sounds awesome for sure
But if you think about it 1 block in the BG is the same as a defend. And in the VG frost orbs only give 2 block each at the end of turn, with evoke giving 5. So if anything they've made the frost orb passive much stronger, not made the evoke weaker
@@hoogomoogo sure, I appreciate your input. I guess I'll just have to (if the cards appear) make a frost deck and see how I feel about it more. It's probably because I haven't really messed with it. Chill could be super strong and then once you start cycling orbs it gets super strong. I just haven't experienced it. You make a compelling case
I don't know if I'd want to build a deck around frost but one or two good frost cards gives you a passive block option that can let you use more energy on being aggressive on later turns is how I'm thinking about it basically
It might be interesting multiplayer too, if you had frost orbs to help with your block and then used upgraded defend cards or other blocking cards to help block other players and be more of a support role.
Okay so I've finished the video and I uh [pushes up glasses] need to clarify a rule that you missed unfortunately. If you look into the FAQ/random rules section on page 18 you'll see a bullet titled "do cards remember". Basically cards don't have "memory" of changes to them once they leave your hand. This would make your madness>0 cost skim combo only play skim for 0 the first time. Fwiw, I think you still would have killed the heart for sure, but you probably would have taken some damage. I know this rule because I made the same type of mistake with liquid memories and then was told by devs and other players I was incorrect. I'm sorry to be that guy but I figured I'd let you know since you seem to have a high regard for keeping too the rules of the game
No I appreciate the correction. I actually already knew about this FAQ but I had misread it, since it made edge cases for certain types of interactions. You can sort of hear me talk about this while I played madness on skim. But you made me read it again and it definitely says once it leaves your hand it forgets. I feel like a better rule would be in that specific interaction it would forget once the turn ends, since madness is still being applied. (I'm still kind of 30/70 on this since madness is technically still in play) But you are absolutely correct and I appreciate the comment! But heck the turn is a lot cooler with 2 skims 😎
When you say "madness is still being applied" are you referring to the "the next card you play this turn" text on the card? I think that is meant to keep you from playing madness last and getting its benefit on the following turn
@@hoogomoogo I mean to say I played madness that turn, then skim making it cost zero and as far as I'm concerned madness will stay applied for the turn. But you have dev feedback saying it doesn't. So I believe you, and that you are right. But I'm hoping you can see how it's working in my head for the turn, even if it's wrong ❤️
@@hoogomoogo also maybe in the next video you can help me work out a card interaction. It massively changed the damage, so it could be fun to help me there too ❤️🥰❤️
Thing is not everyone is going to have devs to ask so at the end of the day your ruling on something is law if you think it's fair. As for the upcoming card interaction, I'm looking forward to it!
3:35:36 Oh no, now people know I’m a nerd! … so whats changed? Edit:also in that perfect turn you had ninja scroll still left to do another 10 damage (1+4 twice) but i wanted to hit the damage cap without activating it but yeah technically it would be 62 damage but the extra ninja scroll damage would have been better to use once invincible wore off
Due to editing reasons and mistakes I made that are too complicated to go through, this short section took waaaaay too long to edit. Gotta learn way more about editing text but I've already been learning a bunch with these videos. Meh 62 damage is lame anyway, especially after my game last night..... 🫢😎 Nah but what a cool turn!
