yep I agree Pen is trash for a non pref MM tank.

the problem with the Panther 8.8 compared to, say, a T-34-3 (which has even worse pen) is that, WHEN you find a way to actually pen the enemy armour, it barely deals enough damage to notice at tier VIII, XI and X which is the environment where this tank lives. without that T-92 QB would haver been easily disposed by that IS-10 despite the theoretically higher DPM, and that's because the8.8 is barely a tier VII gun nowadays. I would add that the Type 34-3 can rely on a trollish turret, while a STA2 (similar dpm) has superior pen and can actually snapshot. I have to admit that, having played the Panther 8.8 a lot when it had 5° of gun depression at the front was even more terrible, but in the 3-5-7 MM we ALWAYS see nowadays, the P8.8 is far from decent. The Panther II is barley better, because of superior penetration of the Pinocchio8.8, but since gun handling is still terrible and the turret is made of cheese it is still a looser. Oh well, wargaming seems more interested in upgrading the T-44 (again) and killing the weak spot on the Object 140, because "reasons" on the Russian servers...

Buff the penetration of the long 8.8 to 225mm and problems solved for most Germany tanks. Also the Tiger II and panther chasis too. Germany armor is completely trash now compare to other nations and versus other guns.

Adding the fact that many german tanks are based around thick, poorly angled front plates and that penetration creep (and gold ammo) is a thing in WoT you do get tanks which perform rather bad played by players wihc are rather new^^. The current meta is either having nearly impenetrable armor (Type 5, russian rounded turrets and stuff like that), or no armor at all in order to gain mobility and flexibility.

Sternencolonel or maybe the Tiger I in WoT is either underpowered against its competition or a tier higer than it should be? I mean the thing offer nothing that best its opponents but dpm (dont say accuracy, that is not a thing in this game especially with those soft stats) penetration? The french heavy tank have the same pen one tier lower, the alpha? The Russian and Japanese tanks dominates this, the armor? Flat and low thickness as compared to competition, mobility? While it have the higher top speed for fooling people, its power to weight ratio is on the lower half and soft-stats hurts it even more. I seriously dont get Wargaming, they released HT#VI and Tiger 131 and those tanks perform badly even as tier 6 tanks. That should give them some idea about the reality already.

The Tiger I in WoT is all about the gun and the gun and... the gun (everything else is - as you've already said - already medioker at best at T6). You have the most reliable gun (in terms of combined aim time, accuracy, dispersion, penetration) combined with the highest DPM. All other T7 heavy tank guns with more penetration have horribe gun handling and poor dpm while all guns with better gun handling are rather underperfoming in every other aspect and less dpm too. Of course if you let the enemy dictate the battle your strength of DPM and reliability is worthless. Standart heavy tank brawling is the death of every Tiger. The Tiger is about sniping at mid to long ranges, its about picking an isolated target and just ripping it apart with your DPM and high HP pool while beeing hull down (note: NOT staying hull down. Never stay hull down, always retreat between your shots and drive back and forth). The Tiger is (considering it has the most reliable gun) the T7 heavy tank with the best performance as a lowtier tank, as your gun is still sufficient while your armor is garbade anyway even when toptier. Its more like a slow DPM and support medium than a heavy tank. The problem many players have with this tank is the following: They believe the Tiger can do the same things in WoT and has the same strengths than in real life. It does not. It has its own strengths, and entirely different weaknesses than in real life. WoT is not historical, which is something you always have to keep in mind. Everything you have learned about tanks in real life: forget it. Start from the scratch.

Tiger I is all but not underpowered for its tier, it has its issues, but it can easily rip apart same tier enemies at mid and long ranges with a gun it was never equipped with (in reality). The problem of the tier 6 Tigers is that it uses the historical correct gun. In WOT the short 8.8 has rather poor pen values and low shell velocity, making it unsuited for sniping.

Dude, the armor on the A-20 isn't half bad. I once managed to take a shot from a Jagdpanzer E100 with no damage while the old matchmaker was still in play when i teamed up with a friend in a KV-4. I laughed my ass of that day :) BEST DAY EVER!!!

It requires a very specific playing style, but if you know how to drive it, its one of the best premiums in my opinion!

e25 is op, rest isnt at all. and lowtier diesnt really atter aswell. the mk is good, but only in close quarter battles where other tanks give you 390 in your face.

My first game with real players on both teams i was playing arty and there was this guy who was disrespectful, toxic and just a straight up douchebag, calling me noob player for not shooting what he was spotting and stuff like that. At that point i didn't even know how to type in chat and after that battle i was like "why is that guy calling me a noob when he's at tier1 he's a noob as well lmao" 2 weeks later i find out that everyone can play in Tier1 doesn't matter if you have 10000000000000 games or 1. Sad game

You aren't supposed to play in tier 8 matches at the start of your career though, and yeah it's also WG's fault. They really need to put stats barrier on purchasing premium, you can't play Tier 8 premium unless you have enough stats (let's say you need 1000 matches OR unlock tier 6 OR has good win rate)

I play it to unlock the guns to make my grind easier on the at-15 and at-8 but now I feel like buying it to skip the at-8 horrible stock grind I sold the at-8 i play on console btw

Spidey 2016 he is just outdated like a lot of tanks in the game. WoT forgot them and instead on focusing making them good again they started doing new tanks

Try to pen O-Ho, Defender, or tier 9 HT with AP ammo with this TD, then say it has good pen. 203 mm pen is not good, not in new Wot. 5 year ago, yea that was good pen.

I want to like the panther 88 so much, but it's never going to be a "good" tank as a generalist. It needs some strong gimmick. Still, to three mark the tank you have to play the map really well, nice job.

creativityfails1 it’s the dpm. Just snipe during first half of the game and trade at the end. 1500 hp and 5.5 reload you can do a lot.

I agree I love it on console and it makes good money so you can easily run chocolate on it and get that awesome rof, however on console the only difference is it has preferential matchmaking

I have 2 marks on the panther 88. Tough tank to play, but you have to snipe. Armour won't help you and knowing enemies' weakspots are key.

eedd sdsd try Panzer 38(t) na. That tier 4 thing is a beast. I use it so club seals. Using that gun with 1.4sec aim time, something like that I think. Incredible gun handling. Lacking a bit of pen, but yeah... Try it out, but dont use the last gun ;) :D

it's a premium; but the t28 honor is very effective as a support tank. it can take on tier5 tanks from distance and be very effective. need a good crew in it though.

M3 Lee is an underrated monster, people expect it to be weak, but if u screw up, it will most likely eat the tank's soul :P Got an ace 2x from it

Sergiu Miza it has the same pen as the T-44, better armor, but worse mobility, and 30 meters less signal range. The gun also has .5 rpm less, but if you BIA the crew and a a gun rammer, there isn't to much of a diffrence.

They can't make it better than the T-44 would be my guess. It was released back when tier 8 premiums weren't overpowered.

I love my mod 1. Its had so many buffs and is just an absolute bruiser in a tier 8 match.
