I accidentally discovered this when practicing my low and mid registers. Not even a day later you drop this vid. It's a really cool effect once you grasp how.

Robert Dick wrote that book in the 70’s. We were doing extended techniques all the time in the modern music group I was in. All of the pioneering techniques of yesteryear are now being rediscovered!

I really liked this video! I feel like she explained the technique a lot better than she did on her circular breathing video.

Great to see some light shone on multiphonics which have been used pretty consistently since the 1950s in the more "out there" repertoire.....now let's talk about microtones!

This beginner-intermediate violinist (=me 😆) continues to enjoy learning about flute techniques: If I ever decide to give flute a try, I'll be a very well educated beginner! 😸 💖

The train piece is super funny. I loved it.

With a big and oval embouchure, you can also "supercharge" the alternate fingering by playing harmonics on it to produce 4 or even 5 notes at the same time. In case your neighbours didn't hate you enough already.

Carnival de Venice by Genin has a variation where there’s a grace note an octave up of the actual note which sounds like two notes as well!!!

Some humans can produce 2 multiple tones as well.

When you have hit multiphonics when you’re not supposed to and just sound like hot garbage 🤣 Also, do this with ear plugs and apologize to your house mates 😂
